I got the Hand Manipulated Stitches book and the courses on Coursera, but if there was another book dedicated to finishing techniques such as button bands, neckbands, pockets etc, I would so go and purchase. The technique demonstrated in this video gives such a professional finish, I can't wait to go and apply it to my cardigan. Thank you very much.
Glad you like this band. More Hand-Manipulated Stitches includes a number of patterns that all have special techniques so you might like that. Hand knits by machine also has some special techniques but no garments. Open Spaces is a collection of open knit stitches - not just lace. You can look inside all of the books on line at Amazon to see if they interest you. There are also classes at susan-guagliumi.teachable.com, one of which is a sweater tutorial. There are trailer clips on the web site to see what the classes are about they are much longer and more detailed than the classes I did for Craftsy.
So helpful! I started with Passap and knew how to do this on the Passap, but was always confused by the gate pegs. I’m going to practice the buttonholes right now. Thank you..
I too was used to a passap. I now knit with a Superba because my passap is so hard to push & Im old now. I find it much harder to do on the Superba. I wish I could go back to the Passap. The Superba does better color work, but I dont do jacquard much. Most everything else, the Passap is better.
This is fabulous! Thank you so much! - New machine knitter here, and I watched all of your Craftsy classes. Thanks for being such a good and clear instructor.
That looks amazing, I think with such clarity of instruction and a little (more likely a lot) of practice I too may be able to turn out such a professional finish...... in time 😁 Thank you for another wonderful video
Es una mujer encantadora y sus manos ni hablar, estoy muy feliz por seguirla ,muchas muchas felicidades y gracias por estar ahí para todos los que tejemos... Un abrazo desde Perú
I’m most of the way through knitting my first garment on my machine and this is the perfect way to finish the front edges. I’ve watched your Craftsy classes multiple times as they are so useful to this new knitter, and I’ve purchased your books as well. I can see they are going to be well used! Thank you for clear, well explained tutorials and written info, you’ve given me a brilliant start and lots to work towards! 😄
If 200 needles wide isn’t enough for a cardigan front and neckline, you have to knit the two center fronts and a piece for the neckline or calculate the length from each front to the center back point of the neckline? And you can make the spacing between buttonholes bigger? Thanks!
Thank you, I’m just trying to get a closer look at how you pick up the stitches on the button holes? Is it the stitch portion above the ravel cord on initially, hen stitches below the ravel cord next?
Hello! On a cardigan with buttonhole bands, if in stockinette is the band supposed to be knit all as one piece or is it knit and linked together somewhere toward the back of the neckline? Thanks!!

Susan, is there any rule of thumb as to how far apart buttonholes should be spaced?
