There's no freaking way these guys' personalities are like that. Their resemblance to the anime character is way too on point. It's like they were told by their PR to be normal in their interviews but still candid enough to represent the characters from One Piece. I like that. Inaki acts goofy and extroverted, Jacob acts foolish and temperamental, Emily looks like the most conscientious of the group, Taz acts mature and like a food connoisseur, and Mackenyu is the most introverted but with a stoic and cool personality. This is great!

1) Oda chose Taz, so I guess ask him.
2) British accents are, for better or worse, the film industry standard used for general foreign accents. Meaning people are already used to hearing it and find it less distracting than something less common.
3) It’s Taz’s natural way of speaking. Asking someone to put on an accent extremely different from their own for an entire television series when it isn’t absolutely vital to the character is just asking for trouble for no real reason. Even tremendous actors fumble with nailing accents, so why invite trouble? It’d be different if it were, say, Idris Elba playing Stringer Bell on The Wire, where the entire character falls apart if he doesn’t use a Baltimore accent.
4) there are so many super famous French restaurants in Britain, and British chefs the general public associates with those dishes, that it still pretty much works with his move names anyway.
5) Taz using his natural South London accent could allow them to pull off an awesome detail by having his flashback self speaking with a Royal accent, subtly showing Sanji trying to distance himself from his true background.

I read that Japanese actors have strict do's and don'ts regarding what they can/cant do in public regarding publicity and their agent contracts.
Yup! They have such a great chemistry and it comes so natural to them, which is amazing because one piece has the same chemistry in the anime. Wow This series will be a banger!

I don't blame him, Gushers could have one heck of a hold on you. Also sensing some real cat energy from Jacob, ironic considering Usopps first adversary. Also their clothes are on point color wise and I'm such a sucker for character color coordination.
It would be nice to see them promote the show in Japan as well. I feel that Mackenyu let’s his castmates shine more, but maybe when he promotes in Japan he’ll be more vocal 😊
