I'm traveling in Asia now and I'm dealing with the travel mess. When I get home, I'm finishing preps for the REAL event coming...this one was just the test.
I got caught in the airline mess…sigh…. it was a big mess. Three cancelled flights, 7 gate changes, and too many delays to count. It was wall to wall standing room only!!

Did not effect my laptop, but some people I heard talking at a resturant said they could not deposit their paychecks. This was before I knew anything was going on.

Work computers were down.... I am keeping some cash, gas in car and some stuff in the car to get home half tank is empty, I don't trust the computers in cars.
I live in NY and the system to the main grocery store went down. It was Cash only. I was fine because I always have Cash but some people weren't able to get the food they wanted or any food at all

How would you deal with the HEAT in Vegas if the power goes out? Keep up the good work.
i would mostly deal with it the way they did in the middle east and other similar areas for thousands of years: lightweight, flowy clothing. Rest at the hottest parts of the day, etc.
I also have a portable evaporative cooler / swamp cooler I can run off my solar generator. Would probably use that at nights to help sleep.
Personally, I would run around naked yelling whooo-hooooo!

You need a GMAS radio, sort of of a high power ham radio, and a shortwave radio for getting info from long distances. Sometimes other Countries. Getting info from long distances may be important. If the entire nation is down. Info from other Countries may be all you have.
and in many cases it might be more accurate than domestic govt info that is more interested in keeping people calm
Every computer and terminal has to be manual physically reset, not just the servers its attached to according to cyber experts. Could take days weeks months.
Computer security expert said that the patch effected the Kernal in the Root file of computers. Said that if someone had access to the security wanted in the root file and wanted to take down the entire systems they could. Those kernels are highly protected. I have no ideal what this guy is talking about, but he does.

You should add get healthy to your reccomended preps. I know several people whose medical procedures were canceled including a triple bypass for someone who really needs it. So see your doctor and get healthy.
