Happy Sunday all! Hope you are having an awesome weekend. Hope you enjoy the info, we tried to cover all the questions we have been asked but reach out if you wanna know anything else!
Hey guys. We hope we manage to answer all the questions we have been getting about what worked and what broke etc while we were up the cape. So we made this video to wrap up the cape and answer them and also answer questions that were not asked that maybe some didn’t ask. If you have any more questions please leave a comment or reach out to us and we can answer them for you🙌🏻 We hope you enjoy the video and hope that we can get you to subscribe as well 😂 have good week guys 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Hi guys, great vid about ur van it seemed to handle the journey to the Cape well glad u were given a replacement fridge 👍🏻 sounds like u had an awesome time u still have the excitement in ur voice, it’s a good feeling having achieved the journey to the Tip, Enjoy, take care & stay safe till next time 👍🏻😘🍻
I was searching through your past videos to check for a rig rundown and couldn’t find one. I am trying to find a reasonable quality and priced canopy for my 79 but am finding prices are insane. Any suggestions?
Wow. You came through relatively unscathed considering the places you went & the roads you traveled on. Thanks so much for providing us with such great entertainment. I've really enjoyed being with you on this journey. You've certainly got a great tow rig & a good quality van from Vacationer. Looking forward to more episodes. Thanks team. 😀
Thanks David. You right , our setup did so well considering the situation and the conditions of the roads.we are so happy with the van and how it handled the roads. Thank you for the support and have an awesome week 🙌🏻
Great to have Sue on full time, your "old married couple" banter makes me laugh. I would be interested in some South African cooking suggestions. Cheers
Good useful information for the Adventurous caravaner new to the game and wanting to know what to expect of their equipment on Tough tracks 😊😊 Great experience for you two + 1 Bob . You guys sure are entertaining and honest with your info and trip experiences well done and keep Bob Bobbing along 👍👍
Good morning 🙏 Thanks for all the information 👍 you guys are awesome and answered questions that I was thinking about. You will find red dust in all place s ( 😆 lol ). Have a fantastic week , God bless 🙌 and catch you on the next one . Greetings from south africa 🇿🇦 😀 ❤️
Thanks Grant, we were super relieved nothing hectic broke or went wrong. We were fully aware that something might break or go wrong towing in such crazy conditions! Bit of careful driving and a lot of luck! Have a great week and thanks as always for the support 🙌
Thanks for another great video, I didn’t want The Cape series to ever end 😔, but can wait to hear what your next adventures are 🥰. And … can we please have some Bob cam 😂
Thanks so much Robyn, we really enjoyed this series and made life time memories. Will absolutely provide more Bob cam! Can't help but have him pop up more in the vids as he is older and far more curious now! Thanks for your support and have a great day 😀
Thanks Kathleen! Always great to see your comment pop up! We were pretty lucky nothing major broke or went wrong. A bit of luck I think! Have a great week 😀
Thanks Robert, we thinknits really important to share what doesn't work or go well as much as it is if things work well. Vans and tow rigs are big investments and can make or break your travel! Thanks so much for the comment and support 👍
G'day Guys, and Bob in the corner, I did spot him 👍👍👍 Awesome set up you have, Toyota are just built for chugging along, and you've got a tuff van so your in good hands, just keep the maintenance up 👍👍👍 Always enjoying your content, Keep the awesomeness coming ( MAYBE A BIT MORE bOB ) 🤣🤣🤣 Cheers Guys, Regards aNDY
What a great vlog. A detailed run through of both the car and van. I must admit I was a bit nervous for you on this trip. We have traveled to the tip and know first hand what can happen. How refreshing to know that when something goes wrong (fridge) that good service is still there. All credit to Vacationer Caravans. Appreciate all the work you put into RUclips. Enjoy your travels.
Thanks Janice! Yeah we consider our selves really lucky to make it back with no major issues or damage. I think we had some great other experience travellers with us which also helped and bags full of luck. Things can definitely easily go wrong. Really chuffed with the van and car. It's the first time we have put it through such extreme terrain. Thanks as always for your support 🤙
Just a comment on the van Stabiliser legs. Our manufacturer advised they should not be straight up and down, but pointed to the front and back for better stability. An RV video I was watching yesterday reiterated this.
Hey Guys It was great to meet you both in Airlie. Yes we chickened out bringing the van into Notch Point. Maybe next time. Sorry we interrupted you filming this episode. Keep up the great videos and we hope to catch up with you on the road again. When your in Newcastle, if you get stuck with Bobby the boys said they will mind him for you👍
I had the same issues with my canopy locks on the corros too mate. Absolutely sucks getting your gear stolen 👎 The rig held up amazing considering the atrocious conditions you threw at it💪
Awesome video with some great info. Thanks for all your efforts. As an ex Vactioneer owner I knew you would have no trouble. Looking forward to the next vid 🍻
Last time I went up the cape was 2015. I’m still finding red dust in the Cruiser. Took the bull bar off last week and hosed out some of the creek bed from gunshot. Great video guys 😊
Great no real damage quite fortunate I have been up quite a few time 18 months ago the last have never seen the roads & tracks so corrugated no grading due to covis I was told. Gunshot and Nolan's nearly always carnage & heart break. Some camp stops were very littered on the last tip so disappointing.
Thanks Ian, yes we were very fortunate. That is very sad that you had a bad experience up the top. It is such an exciting trip and sad others left rubbish around!
Another great video. You guys are so up front and honest about what you do, your car and van, what works and what doesn’t and you are honest about mistakes so we can all learn. The cape series was fantastic and your faces tell us that is how you felt about it and looks like you are still on a buzz For future videos can you cover - the vans off grid set up, what you have, how it works, what’s great and what could be improved - any further thoughts re what you would change or add/delete if you bought the van again now that you have had it almost 6 months and really travelled in it Look forward to your video each week. Travel safe. 👍👍👍
HI guys, great Vids as always, would it be possible to put a filter sock ( like one used on a snorkel or a pool filter) over the filter and then reinstall it
Well done you guys are really inspiring. I have a question Just noticed that in your canopy that you have fishing rob holders from the roof. where did you get these from and how to access ? I have been trying to come up with a solution for our robs that ride inside our Landcruiser 200 series . Appreciate your time with this one.
Hi Katherine, thanks so much for your comment and support. Bob went really well. Alot of planning to get him up and through the Cape safely. Extra vaccinations, tick and flea sponge baths every 4 days, a tick collar and had to be watched constantly as he eats anything and everything and there are poisoness weeds up at the Cape. He had a ball though, loved playingnwoth all the kids!
Great that nothing major failed. Did you guy's opt for the larger size tunnel boot doors? If so do you know by chance the measurements. Cheers and give Mr Bob a pat from us.
Hey Mark, we do have the bugger tunnel boot but it was standard on our van. We didn't order it as an additional option. Will send across the measurements shortly. Have a great week Mark!
Thanks heather , we need you on our team😂. Bob went well and made it to the tip. He is travelling well and needs a bit of training still which we are working on 🙌🏻
Thanks Heather, Bob loved it! He found his freedom at the Cape (out the van after 4 weeks!) We travelled with other couples with kids and he had an absolute ball playing with them and running around. We did a fair bit of planning before taking him up to make sure he had all his vaccinations and also sponge down in tick and flea shampoo every 4 days with tick collar. Hectic but he survived!
Hi Libby! Bob went really well! We did alot of planning to make sure he had all his shots prior to heading up the Cape. Also had to have sponge baths for ticks and fleas every 4 days and special tick collar! He loved playing with the kids on the trip and was absolutely spoilt rotten with cuddles from everyone. We had to be really careful as he chews and eats just about anything and there are some poisonous weeks up the Cape but fortunately kept him alive! He isn't a huge fan of the travel in the car due to being crated but is getting used to it!
Van did a superb job! We are really impressed with it and makes us even more happy with the purchase! I was really worried with the conditions we towed in. The fridge broke but all in all just a faulty appliance and overall structure and build is solid and quality! Really loving the clearance height of the van!
Car did sooooo well! She's a heavy girl but managed the roads and OTT well! We did have to winch down one chicken track as she is top heavy and we were worried about her sliding down into a tree! She rattled alot, we rattled alot but all in all got through unscathed! Thanks so much for your comments and support, hope you have an epic week! 😎

Hey Deryck,Sue and Mr Bob,a great run down on the set up.But one more thing how was fuel consumption?
Thanks for the upload.👍🏾
Thanks mate. Yea good question. We didn’t use as much fuel as we thought to be honest but we were running on about 32L per 100 kms
Thanks Doug! Have a great week!

good o see they replaced they the dud fridge for free which is how it is supposed to be incidentally what was the brand that failded an was replaced?
Hi Dereck just a question on the fridge was it a 3 way fridge or a compressor fridge
Its a compressor fridge

Hi Mark, measurement, outside of frame is 74cm W x 49cm H and outside of door 71cm W x 46cm H
@@justvanningit thanks guys we have a Dakar on order, and thinking of the larger tunnel boot.
Hey guys great videos, what brand and size is your fridge thanks
Still waiting for the enerdrive 600 amp review. Cheers
Not sure about enerdrive. We don’t have enerdrive but we have victron ?
2 things i never take are olives and beetroot. For some magical reason they just can't be contained while offroading😂😢😮
What Van tyre and cruiser tyre pressures did you guys have to run on the rough stuff on the way up to the tip
We mentioned it in the video. We ran 20 psi all the way to the tip and back.
Sorry I missed it guys, I’m a little deaf, and after 4 lots of surgery on a tumour hasn’t helped to much.
