What a colossal waste of time, energy, and money better spent on earth.
As a food lover, I am forever afraid and concerned about the fact that one day we might eat pills instead of normal food.
those kind of pills are not even close to reality, so don't worry
And algae based foods aswell.
Pills, algae and flavored water.
And it's weird to think that if we did switch to pills one day eventually that would become the norm. Imagine people telling their Grandkids about the old days when they went to McDonald's and bought a Big Mac instead of ordering a Big Mac flavored pill off of the McDonald's app. Apps probably wouldn't even be a thing anymore at that point.
@@supertuber120 cool but that’s not how pills work.
Pills would only be used to make up for loss of nutrition, but they themselves cannot make a full meal.
Yes humans on the mars cities will have to eat what is essentially sea-weed salad and dried vegetables and fruits with supplement pills but that won’t be for long, as soon as we are able to successfully mass produce synthetic meats and perfect our rocket science and technology then we’ll be able to ship burger material to mars.
Eventually there will be big enough farms and cities with the necessary infrastructure to make their own food and the they’ll have their own livestock and whatnot.
So in the beginning they’ll rely on supplements and dried fruits and salad but once the infrastructure is up and going that’ll be a thing of the past.
At least we know now, that it's possible to make oxygen on Mars. That was one of the biggest problems. We have not yet built a greenhouse without the need of fresh air regularly from time to time. But well, with fresh oxygen there is hope to solve that one.
And we need big farm areas inside to provide enough food.
And yes, with time there would be meat too, of course, maybe the easier ones first like chickens... ;-)

Synthetic food would come later - if it comes, if people want it. It's not ready yet.

Ask, “Okay, if the earth is “Flat”, then why can’t we see the earth beyond the Horizon? If it was round also, it would make sense why that is since our vision doesn’t bend.”
And a common excuse is, “Simple. We can’t see that far!”
Then… “If so, then why can we see planets very very far away from us, that’s longer than the Earth?” :3
And yes, this idea came from me wanting to be annoying to someone who was joking the Earth was flat. :3 I almost had that exact conversation with them- :P

What scares me the most about living on another planet is the possibility of humans contracting an unknown virus that could have more deadly symptoms

I think that happened before in our planet. There is this mountain in South America where at the top, they found a huge fossil of a fish like creature which suggest that some of our lands are at the bottom of the oceans before.
