YANK!! Looks like another great day of fishing. That was a nice large mouth. At least you found 5 miles of creek to fish this fall. That creek is probably full of big slabs if it hasn’t been fished much. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
I know you like that Beetlespin, I use it to once in awhile, but most of the stuff you fish I would think you would make a killing with a jig under a cork working it back towards you with small jerks on the way back in.
Yes that would work pretty good. I just like the bigger profile and the swimming action. I like to use jigs and corks in the super tough part of the winter, just before spring, very deadly combination.
yank that was a nice 4 pounds bass and i think you found the crappies as well it seem very quiet back there and looks like it was loaded with fish bob sims
Yes sir I think we found them. It is very peaceful in the creek and the fishing is good so far. We May fish this spot for a little while. Thank you Bob Sims
Awesome bass! Cool that he was chilling up shallow. Ive been getting crappie up shallow with my hand reel so far this fall, seems like they’re chasing the bait up in the warmer water
Thank you. That bass was fun. I seen so much bait up in the creek. I think the bait was looking for warmer water and the crappie and bass followed the bait in the creek.
I am using a Johnson beetle spin with a 2 inch baby shad Bobby Garland jig and a live minnow all together, and sometimes when I run out of minnows I use crappie bites with my beetle spin and Bobby Garland jig.
Same here south Mississippi, it's been tough no matter what I throw at em , waters cooled to about 73 / 74 as of yesterday , they're scattered, roaming some are in treetops ,
The bite should get better especially when the water temps dip down in the sixties. I think the fish know they're running out of creatures to eat and start focusing more on the minnows and shad. They are starting to follow the shad here now that the temps have been dipping down to the mid 60s
@@FishYanker Thanks yeah I can tel in the video they are hammering it. I'm going to use it at one of my fav spots but tomorrow im going to do some vertical jigging becaue this spot has gar and their spooked. I think im going to use maybe a beefed up critter bait or hair jig Im not sure.
You give em hell on that beetle spin brother , some good fish ya catching,💦🐟🎣🤠 Have you ever fished the Panther Martin ,or the ole rooster tail type in line spinners ? Just curious
Yes sir. Also have used a lot of roadrunners different sizes and colors. But I like that I can slow the beetle spin down super slow and work it like a jig. The gold willow leaf blade flutters on the drop and the crappie like that.
Jeff carpenter do crappie move to deep water in the somer to escape the warmer water and then move to shallow water in the winter for warmer water it may be a silly question but I never really studie it thanks Jeff keep jerking lips
From my experience, Black crappie like the shallower water so they can ambush their prey. White crappie tend to stay in the deeper water most of the time but will move to the shallows to feed and during the spawn. When it's super hot a lot of the crappie will go to the deep deep water. But if the lake is shallow they will find shady areas.

@@FishYanker Right on man now problem
Well you've mastered it. Do you have the minnow on the same hook as the plastic bait?
Yes. Hook the minnow through the top of the head. After I started using this lure combination. I catch more bigger crappie.
