Just got the 8" yesterday and I have no idea how they got it to sound like that in this video, short of heavily processing the audio. I've tried every combination of tuning + snare adjustment. Even with the snares off, mine does not sound at ALL close to this -- it just sounds like a tiny high pitched tom lol and with snares on, it's so dull while still oddly ringing out the tom tone. Looking for tips, did you ever figure out a solution?
Why is the recommended tabs are showing Timbales when this are not timbales and when i click on that tab, nothing shows about timbales! *COME ON RUclips!*
There's also a custom drum maker/drum tech in LA named Chris Heuer who makes/made a similar drum, but with an 8" maple shell. You can hear Matt Chamberlain playing it in the Sun Rai video for "Mistress". (He also made the tamborim tree Matt plays in the video.) AFAIK his is the original.
The 6” sounds really good for my ears
These sound fantastic and the throw-off seems to be very nice. Thank you for yet another great invention, Tama.
nice...i could use all three as high tom snares....
These look and sound killer on this video. Might just get one
That sounds pretty good man
Fantastic Snares! But please, could you tell me the weight of them? I need to know because I am looking small and light snare for traveling.
Incredible ! Can I have them ? I think it's really good for bandas on my drum kit.
Buy them lmao
Buy em
Yes.
Tama sells them (price is $119 to $139)
It’d be cool if Tama would offer snares with a larger wire count for these drums. I can’t get enough snare sound out of my 8” version.

Can these be tuned to sound like a side timbale for a drumset?

I'll be putting the small 1 on my Swingstar's for sure.
The last song is a funk? Someone knows the name?
Where and when can I buy them?
Can these be attached to a marching vest?
This is essentially how children’s toy snare drums work. Same basic design.
I hope they do last longer though!
Is this discontinued??
how can I buy it from France ?
You can get them from La Baguetterie or Thomann // Tu peux les acheter à La Baguetterie ou sur Thomann.
Meinl makes these also but the Tama throw off is much better.
On the other hand, Meinl´s sound more genuine in "timbal" mode.

how does this have tension on the snare wires if it is held only on one side?
The outer knob controls the the tension the snare wires are pushing against the skin
What is the splash!
Amusing.
are the drum heads of these changeable?
of course they are, why wouldn't they?
Alternative name:
"Incredibly expensive children snare"
not enough volume
