When I was on my university kyudo club team in Tokyo, we had to carry our 7 to 9ft bows[yumi] and arrow quivers on trains and buses to get to tournaments and exams.
So I’m sure you know the inconvenience and attention you get carrying those
@@HistoricalWeapons Since we were already wearing our traditional martial arts garb the attention wasn't too bad. Pretty much everyday you'd see some martial artists or baseball players or team going somewhere. Once we got caught up in rushhour traffic and had to hold our [covered and unstrung] bows up over our heads the whole trip to kept them from being crushed in the press of bodies in the crowded subway cars.
Wow hunting door actually changed their bow name from Qing to Ming due to my suggestion www.huntingdoor.com/products/heseri-takedown-traditional-recurve-bow
This makes me want to see how good Qing dynasty folding bows with the metal hinge in the middle were.
Would be nice to review a reproduction I’m sure those are too old to shoot
Good video 👍+ cool beard
Love to see you enjoying yourself. Keep up the awesome videos.
Great video, Jack. I love your mini arrows rig! Have you come across any quality take-down arrows? Best wishes and happy shooting 🙂🙇🏻👍🏹
No takedown arrows break at the mid point lol after a few shots
@@HistoricalWeapons That is my experience as well. I bet there would be a market for a reliable set. Thank you for the reply!
Looks good bro

Do you have any links to the pure plastic and pure fiberglass versions that you mention? I would be interested in a bow that has the classic composite shape but I dont mind it being entirely in modern materials. And if they're cheaper thats even better.
Check huntingdoor website it’s one of them there I think
我推荐你自制,便宜也很有趣
Slingbow is probably the smallest bow like weapon you can easily carry inside the town. I haven't personally shot one. I rather use slingshot with darts. Those fit easily inside your pockets. Gzk and Snipersling makes the best commercial made darts on the market. Slingshot with darts is of course much more dangerous to the shooter than a bow is. You can hit your hand or get "return to sender" if you are not experienced enough. I started shooting darts after 2 years of shooting steel/lead balls.
That’s not a bow anymore it’s a modern device use a gun
Bow requires arc
This bow was super interesting to see. I'd love to see more unconventional bows like this from time to time if you can make some videos on them.
for me it’s the arrow tube combo with a takedown that’s revolutionary it changes how you carry asiatic bows that specialize with long arrows that stick out when taking a bus
It’s called pianjian

Have you seen the folding bows from Tibet? I don't know if they're full horn sinew though
Tibet doesn’t make bows in 2024

Nice looking bow. Reminds me of the glossy black AF Archery Tartar which I bought after watching one of your last videos! I agree having a takedown version is very attractive. I opted out of doing that for fears of longevity as I ordered a #50@30. Any thoughts on how durable the takedown mechanism might be?
Been using it for a half year for this 40lb hasn’t broke. Can’t comment if it will last or not
Hope you’re enjoying the af Tatar? Mine is still doing great but I haven’t had time to shoot it
@@HistoricalWeapons Absolutely! I love that bow and I put a few hundred arrows through it just last week including some stump shooting and roaming on sunday. I find that khatra is a little more intuitive and natural with the Tartar vs. Turkish, although I love the small size of the Turkish bow. What a great time we live in that we can buy high quality and affordable historical bows like this!

Wow
Vancouver island got some snow ?
That's not common
I've been shooting one of those bows for a year now .

Just haven't gotten around to make a video
Been busy with work .

Such a lovely bow. Theyre a joy to shoot. Also mad skills with the mini arrows, i kinda wana try but i also really don't want an arrow through the hand lol
