      As of today, here are the blender animation channels (aside from 3D animaton hub) which I know of:
      *Pierrick Picaut* (Pixar-Style 3D)
      *Dedouze* (Grease Pencil)
      Dantti (Grease Pencil)
      *Polyfjord* (General animation)
      *#Lollypopman* (Dreamworks-Style 3D)
      CG Geek (Hackish animation)
      (Emboldened channels are the channels which I have been most impressed with.
      *CG Geek & Dantti are not exclusively animation channels.*

    Here's a tip I discovered on my own. Not necessarily an animation tip, but helpful. If you need to nudge an object, as opposed to moving it and trying to hit the right spot, it's easy to do. Just hit "G" and move the object by a very small amount, as in "G X .01 ENTER" then hit "Shift-R" to nudge the object .01 units as many times as you need to. Hope this helps someone.

    I recently became aware of Blender's 'Local Collections' in 3D Viewport. It allows to to show and hide specific collections for a specific viewport.
    It can be accessed under 'Collections' in the View tab in the viewport side panel.
    Very helpful if, for instance, you need a viewport with camera view with everything in the scene visible, but need those things hidden in your 3D viewport so they don't get in the way when animating a character...

    Great tips! One that for me is an absolute MUST when animating is the Alt + B shortcut. It masks and hides the viewport with whatever you selected. It's a cool alternative for the New Scene tips as well. For me it's a game changer with big scenes and lots of characters and props etc.

    2:45 - In addition, you can go up to the top left and click Edit > Lock Object Modes and uncheck it. This makes it so that you can be in Pose Mode with an armature and are still able to click on other objects and armatures, which feels very nice IMO.

      Happy it helped! the Shift-E essentially acts as an Inbetweener. So if you have a Key/pose on Frame 1, and a second Key/pose on frame 10. If you go to frame 2 for example, and Press Shift-E, then have your mouse in the MIDDLE of your viewport, Frame 2 will be 50% of Frame 1 and 50% of Frame 10. Same example, if you're on Frame 2 and you press Shift-E having your Mouse all the way on the LEFT side of the viewport, Frame 2 will look exactly like Frame 1. Hopefully that makes more sense.

    my own tip.
    Use Short cut keys over gimbals . they save much more time.
    on your ctrl+ Tab video. ya actually CAN select an object while in pose mode.
    the reason you can't is because you have "Lock object modes" enabled under the edit tab.
    disable it and ya can select as normal.
    (if ya turn this off i recommend setting your character meshes to unelectable in the outliner, otherwise you will keep clicking it when trying to select a control bone. )

    There is another way to put your character on a different layer like what you did with a new scene. You could just put the character in it's own collection. In my work flow I make separate collections for the body and it's different parts like the head or clothes and another collection for the rig as a whole. You can also use the mask modifier to mask out the torso from the legs and the hips if you animate in layers. You probably knew those things but just in case you didn't.

    • @BrianKouhi
      @BrianKouhi  2 года назад +1

      I actually never done that, but now I'm curious about your workflow!

    • @ammonparkman2439
      @ammonparkman2439 2 года назад

      @@BrianKouhi Just look up blender collections on RUclips (Blender's official channel is the best intro for that type of thing) . My workflow is not that special. The simple concept is the most important aspect to it because it allows you to turn on and off visibility for individual collections as well as selectability. That way you don't have to worry about selecting your model when you only want to select the rig or whatever set up you are going for. Sorry for the late replay. I should check my notifications more often.

    Newbie here. Calling it a "New Scene" seems unfortunate. I thought it would be a real new scene. It was more like "isolation mode" where you are just soloing the character. Am I wrong? I would love the workflow if, let's say, you have a tavern location, there are multiple scenes with the tavern and all of those scenes are contained within one file.
