Working in North Cyprus as an International Student

- Our latest project by the Working Conditions Committee, presents a few amongst the many experiences that international students working in the TRNC, have.
Many of us do not have a choice but to work, and often, this necessity opens the door to exploitation and discrimination of different kinds. During the pandemic it has become even more important for many of us to take on jobs, all the while dealing with other problems brought about by the pandemic.
While not everyone has a negative experience, we should try to empower and improve the conditions of those who do. Please do your part by sharing this post and sharing about your experience. 🙏🏻

Thank you vois Cyprus for this documentary. Hope it helps those out there
you can see hopelessness in some of their eyes, very sad :( wish you were able to make it through
personally i feel like if your going to north cyprus you don't go with the intention of working there maybe in some (hotel , cafe ,restaurant) because there are a plethora of skills that you can learn like barbing, hair brading, cooking, baking and much more.....i mean things that you just find yourself doing with joy but can still be a means to earn money.....Am actually coming to nothern cyprus soo this video was really helpful and it has giving more reasons not to think about job seeking
Why don't you inform the people that northern Cyprus is only recognised by Turkey and not the rest of the world
this broke my heart
I'm coming to North Cyprus for my masters, I will be needing the help of you guys thanks for the information. Stay safe.
Did you go?
Did you go? I will be going in a month
Nice
It’s a totally different experience if you cross the border into Cyprus. I knew it was pretty bad in the North(Turkish occupied part)but after watching this video, it’s even worse.
What about South Cyprus
is it good
What about beein assistant in university? By the way is a pharmacy student able to be assistant pat/full time ???
You can expect this in Republic of Cyprus only.
Do they speak english
Edith ! I pray you can escape from there 🙏 .. You should come to Britain .
Reminds me of long gone days studying in EMU.... 90 Civil Engineering. There was no time for job or many jobs available for that matter. Studies were tough and whatever time we had available from studies was spent taking care of home and preparing food. 😅😢😊
Not a single university in Turkish controlled Northern Cyprus are recognised by Indian govt, you may confirm it with your High Commissioner.
are you blind?
Can u help me to find the girl from Uzbekistan in the video please? I need her help
Hi, Did you apply to any University in Cyprus ?
@@BakhtiyorKab yes I did

@@bakhtiyorruzimboev9008 qaysi univerga kirdiz siz ?
@@BakhtiyorKab Final International University ga lekin review sini oʻqib koʻrsam rasvo ekan
I am sorry for any racism by the locals - it is just not good enough
Axe throwing is a job ! ? !
Northern Cyprus is not a country, the guy from Zimbabwe😊😊😊
Barring some countries riding the dick of Erdogan, not a single country recognise this illegally occupied territory. There is only one Cyprus which is Republic of Cyprus.
I was also a master student there. they treat students as slaves because they know they can. because the law allows it. it is pretty sad but it is what it is. I hope one day the Turkish occupied side gets freed
If you are happy to be ripped of, OK. If your not your best option is to return home.
The dark side of north cyprus
I wonder why you dont cross the border to southern cyprus & study live & work there, if its so bad on the Turkish side. or at least just work there, i mean it takes less than an hour each way in a car, which you can share with fellow students....Everywhere in the world the people with money will try to exploit you this isnt just in Cyprus it happens everywhere. S stop your whining & be happy that you at least can have a part time job while studying....
Veku Zimbabwe vazvijaira 🤣 🤣
Pafair Wangu we can’t be fazed
Bad system her ,
Oh no north Cyprus no. Not a good place for work.
Not a good place for anything.
@@chrisochuko It's actually a fantastic place for what it's built for.
Island paradise, not crowded, low crime for those who are retired or make a good living working remotely.
It simply isn't a place you go to work if you're young. It's almost like walking into a bakery excepting to buy ground beef.
Not sure who is to blame here. The students for going to the wrong place if they need to work while schooling or these recruiters I keep hearing about who lie to these kids about the work opportunities on the island.
@@Earthlover2 Well it is kind of awkward to walk into someone else's house and expect them to speak your language no?
Then to lack the self awareness to actually get mad at people for this after having entered their home is another matter entirely.
I'd imagine some people don't like their homes being turned into touristic resorts regardless of what benefits you believe they receive from it. Dealing with people like you I'm thinking I can start understanding their point of view.
When immigrants come to my country I full well expect them to learn the language or at least attempt to. The idea that others might feel the same way is not mind blowing to me.
So the real question in my mind is who is being toxic?
@@chrisochuko North Cyprus is scum is not a country no one regognised it. Avoid coming
How about south side ?
It's the same all over the world unfortunately, people take advantage of you if they no your desperate.
