Thanks Terri for your invaluable advice. It is so easy for me to subconciously grip my flute too tightly when reaching for the high registers. I am fortunately aware of it, as after an hour of playing my wrist and back muscles start to ache indicating I've not been relaxed enough. Easing off on the grip allows the lip plate to also relax a little against the chin making the high B flat and B so much easier to attain but also fuller sounding. I will heed your words and remember to be sooooo loose while playing, it really is extremely important - thank you again for reminding us of it.

Thank you so much. This is so helpful, I love your tutorials and your flute book.
For singers, we like to do lip rolls to help with throat tension.😊
