The fact that Spencer didn’t even consider his list of how to take care of Carly as being responsible and just saw it as the bare minimum that wasn’t a big enough deal to prove his responsibility speaks volumes towards the kind of person he is
The fact that Spencer indirectly proved to his grandad that he can take care of Carly will always stand out to be one of my favorite moments of Spencer 😂
Literally Spencer may be chaotic and a human firestarter, but he's more responsible than many parents I've run into in real life so clearly Carly needed him.
@@SleepyBuoy-xh3id well they had their dad earlier in their lives and very briefly their mother till she abandoned them and even after their dad left for the air force he was still very present in their lives
The inhaler part always stuck with me even as a kid. When this episode aired I was 7 years old and my asthma was very bad. So I had to take my inhaler everywhere I went. I'm 23 now, my asthma is under much better control, but I always keep my inhaler just in case I need it. Like Spencer said, even though Carly hadn't had an asthma attack in years, you never know.
I was diagnosed with asthma when I was 3 years old, and my asthma was bad when I was a kid. I used to have a lot of problems with asthma. I’m 22 years old now (I actually turned 22 today) and my asthma for the most part is under control, but I still have attacks every now and then even in my early 20s, so like Spencer said about asthma, you never know. That’s why I still keep my inhaler with me everywhere I go.
Litterly the same thing I was I believe 8 years old when I watched this episode also I had asthma bad cause of the flowers and the dust now I'm 24 and hasn't had one since so when I seen this now that I'm older I am happy about Specer not forgetting her inhaler but he was a great dad to her when his dad likes it or not
My sister had terrible asthma as a kid. Everyone thought she had grown out of it for a while back (it had been about 8 years since she had an attack). I always made sure to remind them that it could come back though. Recently, it HAS come back. We're lucky we still had the stuff for it.
Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. As a fellow artist, it’s so cool Spencer recognizes that level of urgency, especially with her little sister
My favorite part is the tone Spencer responds with to why he kept the inhaler, he's almost offended he has to explain to their grandfather it's for emergencies. He may be a goof ball and a child at heart, but when it comes to taking care of Carly, he never messed around.
A list of everything he needed to know about taking care of her And then follows it up with her inhaler, just in case she needed it, because even if she never needed it again, it’s not a risk he’s willing to take
No bc this episode had me absolutely ruined when I first saw it. You can tell Spencer is upset and wishes there was something he could do to convince their grandpa to let her stay, but he didn’t let those emotions get in the way of helping set his grandpa up for success when it came to taking care of her. That was still the priority.
Low key Spencer might of been a bit on the oddball chaotic side but when it was time to Man Up and raise his sister, he did so with style. iCarly wouldn't be the same without out lovable Bunny Ears Lawyer ❤
Everyone talking about Spencer being responsible but the Grandpa was also pretty cool for acknowledging he was wrong right there and not taking Carly regardless (something you don't see often).
4:25 This guy is soooo relatable 😂😂 at my jobs. Whenever I mop, it'll be dead for hours but then you start mopping and there comes the crowd. It's almost like they were waiting on you.
spencer was always such a beauty and one of the most responsible figures out there. Ofc no legal guardian is perfect and their was ONE mishap with his fan of hammers but luckily she ducked it and overall no issues of any kind occur with him being the cause of it
4:12 “Hello? No, Freddy’s not here, Mrs. Benson. I don’t know when I grew leg hair! I gotta go!” The way he delivered that dialogue always gets me!😂😂😂😂
Spencer was a lot older so it made sense. It would be weird if drake and josh had a fatherly relationship with megan considering they were only 6/7 yrs apart.
it was for his own peace of mind more than her own benefit. He worries about her and having her inhaler there (even if it expired) gave him, again, peace of mind. That's why he was adamant for his grandfather to take it.
Jerry Trainor at his finest. They needed more opportunities like this to let Jerry shine as a dramatic actor. He could have been like Will Smith on the Fresh Prince
This episode reminds me of when I was leaving middle school and starting high school. My parents thought I should go to this one school that was fundamental, I wanted to go to the school where my friends were going and that was much closer to my house. As much as they thought the other school was better in the end I ended going to the school that I wanted to go to.
When I was a kid, I used an inhaler for... maybe a month? Just to get medicine in my system. Years later, I still found it in the upper part of a cabinet. My mom had held on to it. Just in case. This scene always reminded me of that.
Grandfather Shay and Spencer are totally the caring, sweet male versions of Chris Macneil and Reagan Macneil from The Exorcist Novel. (Once a mother and daughter, now to father and son)
I love the implication that even when Spencer was first left alone after Carly entered the elevator, he still kept thinking about if there is anything he forgot to give their grandfather to take care of her.
The fact that Spencer didn’t even consider his list of how to take care of Carly as being responsible and just saw it as the bare minimum that wasn’t a big enough deal to prove his responsibility speaks volumes towards the kind of person he is

"Be strong, Freddie."
You were strong for 16 years, now you got her.
I am so back to icarly
Make that 16+ years, since I’m sure Freddie and Carly befriended each other long before 2007.
YES 😂
and then they canceled the show 😔
Spencer will ALWAYS be the BEST brother to Carly. I literally love their relationship sister / brother bond that they really have together. 😍🥰❤️
They do have a great brother and sister bond!
Why did you have to add the “really” in that sentence?
I don't know why you added the word "really" myself!

genuinely one of the best scenes this show ever gave us
Spencer is not the brother Carly wants but he’s the one she needs!
Spencer will always be there for carly!
He is most certainly the brother she wants
Unless you're talking about iChristmas, Spencer is definitely the brother Carly wants. She likes featuring him on iCarly as well as his sculptures.
My favorite part is the tone Spencer responds with to why he kept the inhaler, he's almost offended he has to explain to their grandfather it's for emergencies. He may be a goof ball and a child at heart, but when it comes to taking care of Carly, he never messed around.
Even though Spencer starts fires and makes mistakes, he is responsible enough to take care of Carly.
Exactly
I love how Spencer knew all of Carly’s allergies while Grandad didn’t
Spencer is the brother that Carly got and totally deserved! She needed and deserved him. One of the best brother/sister duos.
Probably one of my favorite Shay Sibling moments in the show.
Of all big brothers in fiction he is by far the greatest
1:57 “I only give her the ones shaped like dinosaurs”
“Why?”
“Dinosaurs are cool”
Best response from Spencer lol
It is pretty obvious

That is love and caring when Spencer kept the inhaler after all the those years…he definitely notices and you’ll never know.
Truly wholesome but in reality the grandpa knew he wasn’t equipped to be hands on enough to actually take care of her.
Exactly. He didn’t even know that Carly had allergies
No wonder why Spencer said he will a grandpa when he thought Carly was pregnant in Season 3, he is like a father figure to her.
Spencer is a great artist he starts fires accidentally and is amazing older brother and friend.
A list of everything he needed to know about taking care of her

Spencer is the father figure to Carly.
Yep

When i was younger i never really noticed Spencer's face at 2:18 and 3:22. That face is just straight anger, yet it's a quiet cold anger.
