Bet that Manager felt crappy after hearing how he was almost responsible for the death of OP due to them having Cancer. Good on you for fighting and winning Both Battles OP.
OP was delayed going to the doctor for 1 day. After experiencing increasing pain for 2 months that he had a fair idea of what the cause was. Might sound harsh, but I'd give him a fair amount of blame for not sorting it sooner.
I really have to admire the girl in the 1st story. She effectively erased this idiot from existence. Almost denied that he ever existed. That is absolute zero level cold!!
2nd story: They frown to the point of termination if you should violate any kind of worker benefits in Europe. Europe has some very generous employee benefits, which is why they often have labor strikes.
Even though he was in the wrong, I credit the landlord for paying up what he owned instead of dodging the court system and his tenants like I heard in other similar redwheel/reddit stories.
He had a choice, pay today or pay tomorrow but he would be paying either way. Not knowing the law in the state you are a landlord means you will lose whenever you end up in court.
I have always been the one being sued in court, and every time it ended with me having a good day. Even had the state come after me once, until they figured out they were likely to lose and and set precedent that would cost them much much more. It pays to be fair and honest and always keep every possible paper trail archived.
I have a bit of nuclear revenge done by q Judge on a city attorney who got a little to big for his own good in the courtroom. This goes way back to 96. I was an OTR driver and hit a tree branch in a suburb of a Chicago. Well I got a ticket for my problem and then a bill for damages to city property. Then the freaking court shenanigans began. It took literally 5 months for me to jump through every single hoop this city and it's attorney threw at me to get this freaking thing solved. Then I got angry the month before the revenge happened I finally demand a hearing in front of the judge to either get the charges dismissed or settled. My officer that wrote the ticket wasn't in court and the guy ahead of me with the same badge gets his dismissed but not mine which slightly pissed the judge off also along with me. Now for the revenge part. The next month I will be the first one called as I am the oldest case on the docket. I am ready have done everything that the city's demanded had a signed and notarized copy of the receipt showing the bill had been paid by my bosses insurance company I mean every I freaking dotted and T crossed. I get called up same judge also from the last month also. He goes he's met all requirements set by the city to get the case dismissed by my judgment and starts to hand me back my driver's license which I had posted as bond. The city attorney rips it out of the judge's hand and goes NO he'll get this back only when I say he does. Judge looks this ahole in the eye and just says bailiffs take the city attorney into criminal custody for contempt of court and assault on a judge. This attorney freaking loses his mind screaming you don't run this courtroom I do as he's being dragged out by the bailiffs. Then the judge looks at the cops in the courtroom from this city and says you have 10 minutes to get a replacement attorney here from your city hall. Now this was at the peak of rush hour in Chicago. This city on a good day was 45 minutes away from the exit of the courthouse. Then the judge really starts getting his revenge and hammering this city with order's they will have to obey in this county. The judge was the chief Justice of the county. He ordered that all city property cases required the city to bill the other party insurance company within 10 days or lose their own case. All cases were the officer wasn't in court if the accused demanded a trial Then the case was dismissed against them. Plus a few more thing's. Then he saw they failed to get another attorney to the court in time. He raised his gavel said all cases dismissed with prejudice and court is adjourned. Then told his clerk to call up all the people who needed to get their licenses back and issue the proper paperwork to them. She had been printing them out after the city attorney was hauled out. The last thing before the judge left the courtroom was to look at me say sorry for that city being such a PITA For you hands me my license and said have a good day. I walked out of the courtroom and was met by applause from about 400 people. As for the city attorney he had to wait in the county jail until he was fully processed by the county including a full body cavities search and held for 8 hours. He tried to sue the judge personally but not only lost but ended up being disbarred when it came to light he was taking bribes from other attorneys to get lighter charges for some people.
MG totally Caspered BF with absolute style. Full respect for the lady. 2nd story..OMG, sick leave is sacrosanct here. Blessed be the unions. That manager should be sacked. Hoping OP gets remission and a glorious payout courtesy of the manager's mismanagement. 5 years of remission in a metastatic cancer is winning enough. Congratulations to OP 3RD LL was an idiot.
Why do managers never have a contingiency plan if an employee needs to take a day off (or 9 months)? "I need to take a sick day.". "No. I have no one to cover for you." Whose fault is that?
My opinion on granting sick time is simple. "Judge not others l, or else, you will be judged." Even the most suspect excuses, still accepted. I only care if the amount of time becomes way too much (and even then, I would still accept a Doctor's note).
@@heididietrich9800 Sorry that you went through that. I only had something like that happen once but that was as a student in high school and the school shot the teacher down real quick as soon as promises to go over the principal's head was involved.
In the last story, would it have been rude to have asked for either cash, money order or a cashiers check? Granted the courts were already involved, but as underhanded as the landlord sounded I don't know that I would fully trust his personal check to actually clear when OP took it to the bank. I would worry it either have a stop payment on it or it would bounce and the landlord would try to make himself as unreachable and unavailable as humanly possible.
Pennsylvania. It's a good state to live in_ for tenants; not-so-much for less than adequate landlords, wouldn't y'all agree? SURE YOU WOULD! hee hee ✨🤗✨
1st story … I was into it until I heard “he can’t go anywhere because landlord changed the locks” Please tell me how landlord had the locks changed without noticing someone was in fact living there?? THAT MAKES ZERO SENSE!
Good Morning RedWheel. How in world do you find such good content? But I also have another question is it possible that you could read some stories from the comments? Anyways, love these and can we get more of the R\Entitled parents?
Thank you😀 A couple of friends are helping me look for stories. I think when there are enough interesting stories from the comments, we could make a few special videos if all goes well😤
The last story was VERY interesting. I live in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and I had no knowledge of the landlord/tenant law that was sited here. I've had multiple issues with crappy landlords and have been to court many times and have never been told of this. Unbelievable.

Is it strange that I wasn't at all phased by someone being forced to work while dealing with friggin' cancer? Then again, I work in retail in America, so...
Many places your "sick leave" is time off without pay. It sucks, but this is the way things have been structured by many companies to avoid the cost of paying a person when they are sick. Just like a pension which years ago the company provided but now the person pays for their own pension with maybe a small contribution by the company. No incentive to stay with the company.
MG is in BIG criminal trouble. She is a landlord even if she did not get paid. In most, if not all, US jurisdictions what she did are CRIMES and she is facing prison time as well as civil suits from the ex for damages. Those will easily run into the thousands of $$$. I hope MG enjoyed her r/prorevenge as she just ruined her life if bf gets a lawyer who knows anything.

My favorite part of that story was despite being in a crappy situation op treated the landlord and all court workers with incredible kindness
congrats to OP, 5 years remission
