    It is a GREAT video!! It is very clear for understanding. Thank you very much for it !!!
    What if I want to change the color to a specific HSL one, with specific values?
    Sliding is not working for this case. Is there a way to do it?
    May be Mix Operator, or Mix Map?

    • @modelup
      @modelup  4 года назад

      Simple Mix would be the best choice. You can choose the opacity of the colour, so it's easier to control colour/texture balance.

    Is there a way to change the bitmap color to an exact RGB value?

    • @modelup
      @modelup  2 года назад

      You can use Simple Mix, which is a mix of Bitmap and a color (an exact RGB color). It is not perfect, but maybe will do the thing for you ;-)

    Thank you a lot for this video, but it doesn't completely work for me : I did everything you showed us, step by step, and when I render I see the changes of the color texture, but the changes don't appear directly in the Sketchup model and it's a bit annoying because I can't see the "real" colors textures when I'm modeling in sketchup... Do you know how Ican fix this? peraps there is an option somewhere...?

    • @modelup
      @modelup  4 года назад +2

      Hey Cécile, according to the video this workflow lets you change the color of the texture in V-Ray, not in SketchUp actually. It's only possible to see the position of the texture, but not the exact color. You've done everything correct then. In the latest V-Ray Next 4.2 fix there's a "Colorize Textures" option, which may solve this problem. All you have to do is change the color of the texture using SketchUp tools and it appears just the same in V-Ray. Maybe you could try this ;-)

    • @cecilegauquelin6873
      @cecilegauquelin6873 4 года назад +2

      @@modelup Thank's a lot, indeed it's a simple way to do it as well haha! I thought that was your Sketchup display behind your Asset Editor. Thought, when I clear the texture image from the Binding menu, the texture helper appears in Sketchup, not only in V-ray... weird isn't it?

    How can we undo color change in vray wrap in?

  • @cecilegauquelin6873
    @cecilegauquelin6873 4 года назад +1

    I have a last question : Is it possible to do the same with the opacity? I have a fabric texture that I would like to make transparent, but it's the same that with the color, I change the opacity of the material but it doesn't work, and if I try to "Wrap In" the material, I can't find any option that would change the opacity of the material.. Sorry if the answer to this question is realy obvious but I'm a beginner with V-Ray :D

    • @modelup
      @modelup  4 года назад

      Hey Cécile, you are right. The opacity parameters don't match as well. However you can set it up separately for SketchUp and V-Ray. In SketchUp the opacity is at the bottom of the Edit tab of the material, just below the texture size. You can set it up to let's say 80%. In V-Ray there's an Opacity tab at the bottom of a Generic material, just below the Refraction tab. You can set it to 0,8 to match SketchUp 80% opacity. Good luck!

    • @cecilegauquelin6873
      @cecilegauquelin6873 4 года назад +1

      @@modelup Yes, I understand that, but my problem is different, I set up the opacity of the V-Ray texture in the Asset Editor but the opacity of the material isn't changing in the render, it stays opaque... I assume it's the same problem as when you want to change the texture color just by changing the color of the Diffuse tab

    • @modelup
      @modelup  4 года назад

      @@cecilegauquelin6873 Oh, now I understand. That's a little bit more complicated. When it comes to see-through fabrics it should actually be a Two Sided material to look correctly. Simple transparency won't do much in this case. Try to investigate this subject ;-)

    • @cecilegauquelin6873
      @cecilegauquelin6873 4 года назад +1

      @@modelup I think I just solved my problem : I tried by turning off the "custum source" of the Opacity tab and it finally worked! And then I tried by adding a translucency layer (for ma curtains) and it worked as well... Thank you for everything, have a good day!

      You could be using some older V-Ray version. Just clear it, then add Color Correction and put Bitmap there. It's just a workaround. Good luck!

    When I change the color of a SketchUp material for example making the pattern material a different colour, the colour doesn't change in vray and ramain the same default colour in the vray viewport. Can someone help me with this? I did not had this problem before but now everytime i change a sketchup colour it doesn't appear the same colour when I render it but only the default colour. Please help me.

    • @modelup
      @modelup  4 года назад

      You shouldn't change the material colour in SketchUp. That's the point of this video. If you want to see the result being rendered you should change the colour in V-Ray, just like it's said in the video. Be aware that the colour in SketchUp won't change, it will only be changed in V-Ray rendering.

      @@modelup But I did not had this problem. I always change the sketchup material colour to whatever colour I want and it workes fine for me in vray. But since I upgrate to SU2020 and vray 4.2 everytime I change sketchup material colour it doenst change in the render and it make me so frustrating because I did not had this probem, I don't know if they patch it or what.
