  • Did we eat Soviet food in Russia? You bet we did! In Saint Petersburg there is a cafe called Kvartirka, which is a Soviet Cafe. A bit of nostalgia from the era, eating in a Soviet apartment, retro style. The food was really tasty, which might surprise some of you. Definitely need to try this. Ate Solyanka, Shuba, Kotlety, Macaron po flotski, washed down with kvas and mors.

I’ve never seen kotleti with huge croutons like that. I’m not sure I’d like them. Do they still sell Russian invisibility sweaters? The ones that let you hide in front of those wall rugs. I’ve wanted to get one for years, but events keep preventing me, like the plandemic and US imperialism.

lol, the kotleti are very tasty, and worth trying. Will get a recipe out soon, one of my favorites! I haven't seen those invisibility sweaters, need to look into that! I love the wall rugs, but I'm sure my wife won't let me hang it in the house, need to put it in my man cave or maybe my banya one day!!!

I find cooking with croutons or making stuffing very difficult. The texture never comes out right. They’re either too crunchy or too soggy or both, lol.
