- Blind since birth, the 24-year-old was a joint gold medal winner at the 2009 Van Cliburn Competition. This past July he debuted at the BBC Proms, giving a well-received performance with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. He made his New York recital debut in Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium in 2011, and is set to return for a performance of the Beethoven "Emperor" concerto with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra on January 25.
But first, he stopped by The Greene Space for an evening of conversation and music, playing works by Chopin, Liszt and his own compositions. - Видеоклипы
I pray that Mr. Nobuyuki Tsujii, all the success he deserve for giving us
beautiful music that represent peace.
The loss of so many lives in Japan is so tragic...your music has touched so many of us... we are so proud of you, Noboyuki! Keep on playing...
Start off with such deep sorrow, yet giving comforts, lights and hopes at the end....these must be the feelings of what Tsunami victims and their loved ones have gone through. What a beautiful music and talent! I don't understand why anyone would want to give this thumbs down. Thank you, Tsujii-san for giving us love and peace.
Nothing speaks to the soul better than a classical music.
When I heard this beautiful piece of music for the first time, I was so affected by it (in a positive sense) that I could not find words to describe it. Now that I have listened to it continuously over ten times, I can try with these inadequate words : lovingly poignant, touchingly exquisite and out-of-this-world sublime. Thank you for this music.

So haunting, fragile, beautiful!
What a beautiful and moving performance.
Around the time after Japan had the flood my friend asked if I wanted to come to a piano concert with Nobuyuki playing. At the time I never heard of him and not only his skills literally blew my mind but the fact that he’s blind but played all these classical pieces to it’s near perfection was mind boggling. Definitely a gifted and hard working pianist.
God knows I love this young man's art. He knows the exact volume needed for each note. I would like to add that the piano is perfectly tuned. He must me very sensitive to the tuning of each key and insists that the are pure.
15 thumbs down??? Really? It’s so beautifully played...
Absolutely beautiful!
I was crying reason don’t know why.
He’s really genius and treasure of Japan.
Not the first time I have listened to this song. Hands down, one of the most heart touching pieces I have ever heard. When you're writing from your heart, most often you touch others.
最初は悲しい感じがするけど、すごい希望が見えてくる😢😌
今災害とか北海道や広島とか大変だけど、頑張ってください!この曲が届くといいです!

A friend gave me this piece a couple of weeks ago, and I just can't stop humming it throughout the day and playing it when I get a moment. It's such a beautiful, heart touching piece. Thank you for playing.

*Masterpiece*
this is an original piece by the Pianist, world class pianist Nobuyuki Tsujii, and he is blind from birth. He read notes by hearing. You won't find the score sheet, unless other world pianist translate it.
There are score sheets, even with accompanying instruments like trombone, violin/cello and clarinet.
Go to musescore and search for 'Nobuyuki - Elegy'
It's available on musescore
Couldn't find any sheet music for this anywhere, so I've just transcribed it myself yesterday and posted a video of me playing. Check it out and enjoy :)

What a beauty ! Reminds me some of the Koji Kondo works on Mario :)
Great music. And Exile Atsushi collaborated with Nobuyuki Tsujii to put out a beautiful version of this song with lyrics (in Japanese)...
pessoas como você faz a vida valer a pena.
вау. супер. это невероятной красоты музыка.
Always heal my heart while im moody
powerless... pray for hk
genius
Has anyone ran across the sheet music for this song yet? I'd love to learn how to play it.
😃
beautiful music.but does somebody know where i can find the sheet? thanks
musescore
It's very beautiful... but I finally realized it sounded so familiar because I was hearing "The End of the World" (Skeeter Davis, later Vonda Shepard for "Ally McBeal") in it. Please, someone tell me you can hear that too, lol.
Every music composition may have a tune from somewhere else. It is not strange. Kind Regards
Ilari Kauppi -- It changes from A minor to A major about 1:18 into it and does so very effectively to transition from the mood of sadness and despair to one of hope and recovery. The entire point of the piece was to convey the sentiments of the victims of the tsunami in Japan. Also, someone who has Victor Borge in his list of videos has no business making comments about piano music composition.
Omg someone needs to cover this on guitar lol.
send to sung ha jung
I know 4 people who are bitter with life. why would anyone dislike this?
They were tried to down load this video.
Atualíssima para confortar a humanidade.
Grande sensibilidade e muito muito obrigada
How does he even play?!!!!!
He played with all his heart. Though he is blind, he showed that all is possible if you do everything with all your heart... You dont need eyes to play piano..
I also pray for the victims of natural disaster.
ピアノはタッチで音色が変わります。やはりスタンウェイの音色です。以前のピアノは何処のピアノか私には分かり兼ねますが、もっと陰鬱で重い音でした。
