      How are you liking it? I only played one in a GC for a few minutes but thought it felt/sounded great for the price point. I'm glad I scored this one before the price hike...i was on the fence with this one at $2K...no way would I pay what they are going for new now!

    • @jeffersononetwo
      @jeffersononetwo Год назад

      @@samunden Yeah man, I don't think I would shell the cash today for a new USA one, but the import I'd say is very close to other Jackson's or Kramer's I have. I don't think any of mine are USA though, but range from $700 to $1,600 or so new. Soloists or Baretta ... I think this Adrian Smith is well made - the main problem I have is the string tree location: is you tree located too close to the low E string? That's really the only gripe I have - for what I paid new a few years ago I really like it! I'm just not in the $2K + price point for my skill level. If I were a bit better I'd probably by a USA on most of these - but, I can just buy more toys @ < $2K

    The Floyd Rose seeing as though it’s non-recessed, can you just take all the strings off at once and restring it like a fixed bridge seeing as though there’s no recess for it to fall back to as it’s top mounted? :)

    • @samunden
      @samunden  2 года назад +1

      If the FR is set-up to rest against the body (dive-only) then ya, you can remove all strings at once without issue, but I always feared doing it that way would damage the body. When I had a Dtuna on it for awhile, I just used spacers on the trem block against the trem cavity to make it dive-only. The dTuna had its pros/cons but I removed it and now have it set-up for true-floating with a bit of gap between the FR and body mainly so I can flutter and pitch up just a bit if needed (TBH...I think I'm OCD and just like a level FR, haha). I've always just restrung my FR's one string at a time regardless of how its set-up...mainly out of habit.

      Brandon Mcvey I’ll admit it took awhile for me to bond with it which surprised me. It felt great out of the case but the sound was just not quite there when I A/B’d with my other guitar with a super distortion. Long story short I put one of those large brass sustain blocks in it and that was it. For $1500 I’d grab that. These just jumped in price new to $2300 so if you dont like it you can easily get your money back.
