Hi Roz & Winston the director, you two just love going long walks together.he is just a pure Gentelmen Roz . & he doesn't look like a 12 year old dog.. He is a c.f.very fit dog for his age.. & you have the perfect life together, away in you're van & pod to go. Great life. Take extra care of Winston. & you're travels a absolutely stunning give Winston a great he deserved it.👃
A smelly dog is a really happy dog. My dog, a jack Russell loves rolling in all sorts of things. And if I think he’s that filthy and smelly I just rinse him off in the shower. And he loves it. You and Winston were made for each other. You allow him to be a dog.
The funny thing is...for the rest of my life, whenever I travel anywhere I will think of two good hearted souls, Roz and Winston... because of "One more step along the world I go". Nice video.
Patrick Swayze once said, “They told me my house smelled like dogs, and I asked them, do you know what a dog smells like?” It smells like gratitude, loyalty, nobility, affection, pure unconditional love. And in spite of all they've been through, they smell no resentment" Winston is a beautiful soul, why would you not want to share a bed with him!!! 😍😍🥰🥰
It's your life, your van, your dog you do what you want Roz it's nought to do with anybody else as long as your happy that's all that matters and we've all seen how you look after it, no complaints from us keep on caravanning👍
I have a micro camper that I live in full time. I have a folding solar panel, a Ecoflow delta, and a Bluetti eb3a, as well as an 85watt leisure battery….. I rarely use campsites - I also work full time online too.
When you consider that some of these big caravans and motorhomes may have a family living in them. They have showers, central heating, ovens, microwaves, tv’s etc! That’s what you are paying for. I think the card system is fairer.
Just popped in to read the comments from all the grown men defending their smell 😂 Totally worth it! I watched most of this series back-to-back and I’m sorry you didn’t love the Hebrides, but I really enjoyed the vlogs. I enjoyed the Pod days as well as adventure days (but I’m biased obviously as I love my go-pod).
It would be nice to see them get a few perks with the channel... We know if it's been tested by Roz or Winston it's definitely passed with honours.. they get stuff done, no matter what the conditions bring.. Now... if only they were into digital marketing... 🤔🤷😂😂
Local interest , the family that own Invercauld House owned a vast estate in the area. When Prince Albert and Queen Victoria visited the area, the queen liked the location so much , that prince Albert bought some land from the Invercauld estate, and had Balmoral Castle built for his wife. There is always someone richer than you !
I find it a very strange world that after watching your videos, showing us your life and travels, made for our enjoyment, that people could actually sit at their keyboards and query if your van smells doggy. And to question why you use an app on your phone rather than a paper map beggars belief. What business is it of theirs, if it’s what you find works for you , then keep it up. Still enjoying your videos keep it coming.
people say dogs smell and cats smell are just not pet people - they want to live in immaculate show homes and of course they can. I am a cat person. First one I had lived to be 16, second one 23 and our current cat is coming up on 18 - its not a commitment its a gift
Some people probably turn the fan heater on from the minute they arrive to when they leave, that would be costing campsites a fortune (approximately £16 for 24 hours for a 2KW fan) If you could harness Winstons tail wagging and turn that into electricity you wouldn’t need an EHU. Can’t believe people would be judging you on how the pod smells, hey ho that’s social media for you. I could never be a content creator as all the snarky comments would drive me mad.
Personally, as a former dog owner, I wouldn't care if my caravan smelt of my dog. When I had my dog, much like Winston is to you, he was my best friend, and the joy and love that he gave me and Winston gives you far out ways the negatives of owning a dog. As I know now and I'm sure you are perfectly aware of, one day, you won't have that dog smell floating about, and neither will you have the joy and love that comes with it... ❤ Keep up the fantastic videos... I look forward to your videos every week, and i look forward to your next adventure 😊 P.s. I have a new TV and now you and his lordship are super crispy and clear 😂
Our collie goes with us in the caravan, He's part of the family . We used a caravan site last autumn , Same pre paid card as you used, 2 berth van 7 days £2 a day we put £15 on it , you could be refunded remaining money or donate to air ambulance which we did.
Winston and yourself are living your best life out exploring and spending that all important time together. I took my Chocolate Labrador on his first trip in my new van - he has always tent camped with us - to his favourite beach for a few nights, yes I was always shaking out blankets and sweeping the floor but seeing him splashing through the water and running free on the beach with so much enjoyment makes it all worthwhile🐾🇳🇿
That happens to me so often. I get down the road and wonder if I’ve closed the garage door. Now I’m trying to make a habit of saying to myself,” I am locking the door, I am putting the garage door down”. It helps.
Same here, last year we went away and was not sure if I closed the garage door, it bothered me for days on end, anyway when we got home it was closed. I have installed a Wi-Fi camera at the back of the garage that now faces the doors, and can check on my phone. Cheap piece of mind.
I stayed at the same site in Braemar in May 24. Three nights cost us £3.97. For context we have a MWB Citroen Relay Campervan. Usual items being used in the van, phones, laptop, tablets, water pump, diesel heater (used twice only for 3hrs). So yeah campsites are ripping us off for EHU when it's not metered 😮😮😮
One of the deep joys of being a dog owner is that uniqie wet dog smell that shouts your dog has had the best of days and you shared it I cant comment on your sharing with grown men other than in the Army, when if 'wet dog' had been bottled as a deoudourant in the field morale would have skyrocketed. My pooch died after 12 great years together. I wish I had just one of his wet dog days to remind me of the best of times together. ❤
Blows my mind that anyone would feel the need to comment on whether or not your pod would smell of dog! It never crossed my mind! Love watching your videos, showing a part of the world I will probably never see. Thank you.
I totally get what you said about legs, mine haven't been good for a couple of years now and it's horrible. But I still do the best I can. Love Winston and the chapters 😊
Our house uses about 200 - 300Watt/hrs total when only the fridge, tv, computers, chargers and lights are running. If we don't use the kettle or oven then the amount we use is about 7kWhr which amounts to about £1.50. Most of the equipment you mentioned is low wattage so doesn't cost too much. Your biggest user of electricity will be the kettle (I think you have gas cooker). Looks like this caravan site is best for paying for electricity. Another great video. Thanks.
Best vlog in a while you seemed to really be enjoying yourself and Winston together time ,your both so lucky to have each other, you are giving him the best dog life ever ,and he loves you too ❤️
The nuclear bunker that you didn't visit is almost certainly a Royal Observer Corps monitoring post. There were about 900 of them spread all over the country controlled by 25 larger bunkers called Group headquarters. There are about a dozen restored/preserved posts left in the UK (Skelmorlie near Ayr is the only one in Scotland) and two Group HQs - Dundee is privately operated and York is run by English Heritage. The posts and groups were manned by part time volunteers, 24 hour manning would only have happened in wartime. I was recruited by my maths teacher into the ROC when I was 16 in 1985 and served on two different posts, before moving to group HQ in Durham (the bunker was on the riverside next to the ice rink) and ending up at group HQ in Coventry before we were stood down in 1991. If you want to know more might I suggest the Surviving the Apocalypse RUclips channel. It is run by the gentleman who has restored the ROC post at Portadown in Northern Ireland.
I don’t know why someone would say that about Winston. As my Dad always said, “a dog that is outside a lot and well walked does not smell, it is dogs that are not walked and don’t get the wind blowing through their coats that smell.” You keep Winston clean and well walked - I doubt that your pod smells at all. Thank you so much for another great video 😊
That is very true! When Winston has his operation, he had to be crated for a long time and he did smell very bad by the end of it 🙊😂 Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Thanks so much for donating and supporting! 🙏 It's okay, I don't worry about those comments, but they do give me something to talk about in my vlogs 😂👍🏼 Thanks for watching.
Hello Roz what a fantastic view from the top of that mountain and as for the electricity that's amazing value . I hope you and Winston are well and happy 👌👍🦴🧁
Morning Roz, hope you are both fit and well. Yet another outstanding video. Definitely one of my highlights of the week. I think regarding the smell you may have become "noseblind!" Take special care of yourselves. My love to you both as always xx
Stunning scenery, gorgeous views and a lovely defence of Winston’s aroma. In this caravan my currently sleeping, happy dog is still adorable even though she’s augmented by her favourite scent, merde du reynard. I think she rolls in it to mask the smell of grown man.
That looked like a great day out. Walking through the tree's and then some dramatic views. Again, some variable weather, but looked like it wasn't too much of a problem for you both... Thanks Roz
Winston must have one of the best lives a dog can have, I wish I was capable of taking my schnauzer on such trips. Great video again with beautiful scenery 😊
Love that walk. If you don't have a map, do you take a battery pack for your phone, I've learned that the hard way! I think the path between the 2 bridges is to lower the gradient for pushchairs.
Another great video Roz. There was some fantastic views on your walk with Winston, pity you didn't find the bunker never mind. Looking forward to next Wednesday video take care 😊
As a dog owner and someone who hopes to do the NC sometime. I'm loving your work. You can feel your love for Winston through the camera. Thank you for your honest and real vlogs. Keep them coming
Morning! Our brains don't always store a memory of a routine action, such as locking a door, because habitual actions are executed using less concious thought. Although this might reassure you that part of your brain hasn't died It doesn't mean you can be sure you did lock the door, so you still have to check it.
🎉❤🎉Hi Princess Roz & Winston.. when I was traveling in the US...I was paying.08 to .13 cents per KWH. Here in the states the campground can not charge or tack on any fees for Power or NGas or water... But some try and I always got them to remove any added costs....🎉🎉😊😊❤
Hi Roz. You mentioned about the cost of sites (and of course sites' electricity charges) in the UK, but for comparison my wife and I are currently spending a few weeks in our caravan in the extreme south-west of France and we are paying 17 euros (£14,15 at today's rate) per night on a proper equipped site, as members of the ACSI off season discount organisation. Plus, you get 2 free nights if you stay 14 nights and 3 free nights for a 21 night stay. All of our heating, cooking and the rest is done on electric supplied as part of the ACSI price. When we come to the UK we stay on CAMC Certificated Locations and just use solar for charging our caravan battery, plus we have a power station with it's own solar panel which means we only pay around £8 to £14 per night for typical sites. So, from our perspective caravanners and motorhomers are being ripped off in the UK. Some may disagree but that is our opinion, formed over years of caravanning. Btw, another great vlog, thank you.
11:39 You have to remember, where electric pitches aren't individually metered, and a flat fee is applied, the best the site owners can do is to take an average based on the total site usage and number of pitches. That unfortunately does mean a solo traveller in a small, cheap-to-run van such as yourself will to an extent be subsidising the family of 5 in the twin axle Buccaneer with full awning, central heating / air conditioning throughout, family-sized fridge, 2 TVs, plethora of phones, tablets, laptops, consoles, coffee machines, etc etc. Metering is undoubtedly the fairest way of doing it, and is inevitably the way more and more sites will go as energy costs continue to shoot for the moon. Sidenote; it's obvious you were so much happier back on the mainland than you had been in the islands; there's a smile on your face and a spring in your step! So nice to see!
There is a big problem for site and that is the cost at least 25k for a small site also they can not make extra on electric there fees can include a small amount to get cost back but if this is to high then people don’t go. Wishing you well James
Love the video great as usual Roz and tell the rude people not worry plus even if you have a dog does mean you do t keep him and the camper clean. Happy travels and many blessings to you and Winston
If you buy a van or caravan you are getting ripped off, if you travel to the majority of sites you are getting ripped off, if you use electricity on sites you are being ripped off, thats just what happens when you choose this life as a pastime. I lived in a van all through the nineties and seen it grow from there. Nice videos, many thanks for your time in making them.
Hiya Roz and Winston. Just when I think the views couldn't get any better, they do! Thank you for taking us on the hike (all the fun but no effort required by us 😁). I'm so with you on the smelly men verses dogs👍in the pod (and yes men do smell nice at times before I get any comments). Safe travels. See you on the next.
WOW! I must share with you how good seeing your video made me feel today.😊 My job has, thankfully, increased my hours to full day on Wednesdays (8am-5pm) and I'm just home now, tuned into RUclips and immediately greeted by two of my favorite people, you and Winston! 🤗🇰🇾🌺
Great episode, Roz. Scotland is beautiful. I would love to visit one day. I’m sorry that some people feel the need to be negative and make inappropriate comments regarding how your caravan smells. It’s beyond me why anyone would watch your adventures and decide that a comment on how the caravan may smell is at the top of the list to say to you. Is that the best they’ve got? It’s obvious, to those of us who pay attention, that you take care of your caravan and especially your dog. He’s your child, so to speak. I guess I’ll get off of my soap box but I want you to know that I value your adventures and don’t spend a second trying to nit pick what’s none of my business. Hugs to Winston and I hope he had a wonderful Birthday full of yummy treats.
His Roz , great to see you were near my neck of the woods, I had a static caravan in Banchory (Silver Ladies Site) 40 miles from Braemar, on the banks of the River Dee , gave it up last year , still not far for me to travel there from Aberdeen , You take care and of course Winston!
I camped here many years ago, it’s so beautiful 🤩 I had two crazy spaniels who loved nothing more than to wallow in as much muddy water as possible 😅 sadly they are now gone and I have a border terrier who does not like water so it’s a bit of a change but I’m 66 now and my back could not handle a dog that loves wallow so we all adapt over the years but I will never stop loving the outdoor spaces ever so thanks for taking me back to my stomping ground x sorry it’s a long one . ❤ xx
Please Roz you have the most beautiful little pod and you take such good care of that puppy. They should see that how you wash him before he comes inside. Your pod is immaculate. Please just scroll past those crazy people you don't have to explain..
Your caravan do as you like, never mind about peoples comments. There obviously not pet lovers. Great video 😊. I wish I had a fast forward when I do my housework. Lol
I love how Winston keeps checking on his mum. What a fantastic relationship you have with him Roz, even if he does smell a bitty but not as bad as us men 😂😂😂😂 Wednesday wouldn’t be the same without you on our tv screen
Nice views ! It can be tricky to hike, and film most of the time 🥰 I've invented this great technic when I hike ... my eyes always " radarmap " the every next 15 - 20 m or so of the terrain in front of me, then my eyes can turn around and focus on the views whilst my two cogs are processing my legs and the walk 😂always works - never had any accidents , even in rocky mountains 🤣🤣
Such a fantastic hike, little Winston smiling away as usual 😊 I'd rather have my dog than any smelly person 😂there loyal and grateful, unlike whinging humans 😅we love Breamar such big trees plus excellent views ,thank you both for another excellent video 😊X
Roz, you need to try and ignore those whom are rude to you. You have nothing to justify, to anyone. Might take a bit of practice though.. On X, I would respond to rudeness, now.. nope not having that.. blocked..its rather liberating 🎉😊. Think big red button ❌️
Don’t pay attention to them kind, they’re simple, useless, worthless and haven’t got a clue how to live their life, probably never been out on a hike in the great outdoors. Pity them.
Hi Roz The view from the top of the hill looking into Braemar was fantastic. When we to Braemar Castle a few years ago there was only one room that you could actually go into bit the reast of the grounds, audio visual tours, eating facilities were excellent Regards Crawford
I love Winston’s tail. It makes me so happy. My dog, Shadow, would be next to me in bed if I was in a camper. When we camp he gets scared and insists on sleeping with me. Those people sound like they’re a sourpuss. Keep enjoying your adventures with Winston for as long as you can. I hope I will be back to camping by fall or the following spring.
Every dog should have a Roz.
Said to my wife "I don't stink do I" she just looked at me and smiled 😮

I thought Roz could do with a Jackery myself while she was stood there mentally smacked by a wet fish 😂
@@christophergray42 Absolutely! Definitely needs to happen. Get Winston's agent on to it immediately! 😉

Nice scenic walk with WInston😊
" it took me all the walk to get this muddy and you wash it off in minutes - you have no idea"

Now that’s a project …… finding sites with the same electricity meters as this one 😀
Thanks for pointing out the castle Roz…….many memories for me. 🙂👍🏻
🎉❤🎉Hi Princess Roz & Winston.. when I was traveling in the US...I was paying.08 to .13 cents per KWH. Here in the states the campground can not charge or tack on any fees for Power or NGas or water... But some try and I always got them to remove any added costs....🎉🎉😊😊❤
i worked in Braemar for a summer, wonderful place, even managed to get a few hikes in along the Dee and other water ways.
Wishing you well
James
Winston is a dog and a wonderful companion. You’re doing exactly what I would do if I had a dog.
Totally agree with this comment..campsite fees are killing the hobby..
I think of it as the smell of unconditional love and devotion Lol😊❤
It's okay, I don't worry about those comments, but they do give me something to talk about in my vlogs 😂👍🏼
Thanks for watching.
Thanks Roz, brilliant as always.
What are you on about Roz? We all know Winston always smells of roses xx🌹🌹🌹
Fabulous views!
His Roz , great to see you were near my neck of the woods, I had a static caravan in Banchory (Silver Ladies Site) 40 miles from Braemar, on the banks of the River Dee , gave it up last year , still not far for me to travel there from Aberdeen , You take care and of course Winston!
My partner cannot do left/right - good luck with training W.
It's okay, I don't worry about those comments, but they do give me something to talk about in my vlogs 😂👍🏼
Thanks for watching.
Your caravan do as you like, never mind about peoples comments.
There obviously not pet lovers.
Great video 😊.
I wish I had a fast forward when I do my housework. Lol
Fantastic scenery and Winston has had a lot of fun😀
I can’t believe people are so RUDE to imply your camper smells because of Winston, wow!
I know, 100% rude! I know men are definitely worse smelling, but also more messy than any wee dog 🐶
I know, how rude!!
More the mackerel curry!😂🤣😂🤣!
You’re such a treasure Roz, you just make me smile, and Winston too of course! Xx
Poor Winston saying he smells 😢😅 and as always love your comments 🌹
I love Winston’s tail. It makes me so happy.
My dog, Shadow, would be next to me in bed if I was in a camper. When we camp he gets scared and insists on sleeping with me. Those people sound like they’re a sourpuss.
Keep enjoying your adventures with Winston for as long as you can. I hope I will be back to camping by fall or the following spring.
What a tidy lady.
Beautiful views! Thanks for taking us along.
