  • This is the first episode of 5 featuring the Abandoned mining and farming towns of Dyer, Govan and Sherman Washington. Day 1 turned out to be a bit of a bust but still got to see some really cool stuff. It only gets better after this episode!

I’m from spokane, and took a day trip to Govan after it came on my radar. Really crazy history of an unsolved double axe murder, and of course the old school house. If you get a chance, visit Sherman, about 10 miles north, it’s one of the oldest cemeteries and churches in the area.

Loved it. I think even the sites with minimal artifacts are still cool. With most of these sites we are most likely the last generation to see them. Between natural decay and agencies like the BLM/NFS are retuning old areas "Back to Natural State" these place are not long for this world. Nicely documented and edited. Seems funny to see the dried grass around the buildings. I am used to cactus, rocks and dust around my visits.

That's true, I hadn't thought of it from that perspective yet. Documenting and uploading these site may be one of the last accurate ways to "visit" them in the not too distant future. I will definitely be locating more of these in the future and viewing them from that angle, thank you!!
