As a developer I absolutely love the way that you analyze everything that went right or wrong and draw conclusions that you can actually work on. You don't pretend anything is out of your control and it's really motivating!

I've been coding on Roblox for 5+ years now. I remember when I started all I heard was, "Don't start with a big game!". So, of course I went ahead and tried too anyway. Luckily, I realized my mistake and made a simple obby game. I can stress enough how important it is to start with a simple game before moving on to a bigger game.

Honestly, the 2nd game you created could've been a banger. The real attention-grabbing games on roblox are the games that are easily understandable, such as having the goal of the game right in your face, replayable with or without multiplayer, and could run on mobile devices. If you had spent a little more time on polishing your 2nd game, it really could've been a big hit. Just look at Blade Ball. Different game style, but similar concept. Easy to understand and very replayable on PC and mobile devices. I also have a few ideas of games I want to create, but I suck at coding, so it's gonna take a pretty long while. But I do hope you come out with a banger one day.

long time roblox player here - it's really refreshing to see you make these games, so much of the front page is clogged with poorly made games that are often made just with the goal of making as much money as possible, similar to mobile games. you making these games is so cool, because you're actually bringing NEW ideas to the table rather than crappy ideas like simulators that have been done a billion times. good luck with your future games! :)

  • @ThunderSatis

As a developer for a fairly big Roblox game a few years back (10.2M total visits), I will say as good of a platform Roblox is (considering free servers, free developing studio, etc.) when it comes to game releases, it's unfortunately very luck-based. Roblox does not give much of a helping hand towards smaller developers/developer teams, so if you release a really, really good game, there's a very high chance 99% of Roblox players will never know of it, ever. If people do end up catching on, it's through outside means, whether it's discord server(s), big YTers, etc. Ads are a great way to get your game out there to the roblox community, however, the biggest downside with Roblox ads is that many times *big* developers with hundreds of thousands of Robux will buy 10s of thousands of ad spots that block many, many smaller devs who buy a few dozen ads or even 100 ads.
It's a very, very difficult time to get yourself up on the "ladder" when it comes to Roblox developing. If there's something I've personally learned with developing; knowing people is the best way to get yourself out there. Reaching out to people, getting to know people, etc.
You had some awesome and unique ideas! That alone is a plus for developing on Roblox, many developers, even big time ones, now rely their entire development process around trends. Keep it up!

One thing I noticed up until fhe last game is what most people suffer from. When I and most roblox players check out a game we rate it on how janky it feels. This is hard to tell with a tuturial so thats why you extended the time a little , but if the gameplay is janky we don't want to try it out any further.
Of course you just started but I'm just telling you to focus on this aspect too. Your last game didn't seem janky at all so that will probbaly gain more attention

One thing I've learned is that the first 15 minutes of your game define the impression you get from everything else. If you can't even get it up to that then the game is outright unappealing, whether be it by janky gameplay mechanics, oversaturated interface, uninteresting core loops or even before joining the game, thumbnails and description. If you are able to retain the player for 15 minutes, there is a chance they will get immersed and will want to spend more of their time experiencing the game. Otherwise, they will label it as another cashgrab and move on to something better.

your game has an ai genrated icon and thumbnail, most experienced players see this as an instant cashgrab and wont click on it, marketing will make or break your games popularity as its the first thing they see. I do acknowledge you are a solo dev but just take into consideration people dont really like ai. (could be the reason for the dislike ratio)

not to be the bearer of bad news but one of the things that make roblox games popular is good animations vfx and just stuff to generally made it look good having a game thats just fun on roblox wont pull in that many players not only that but your game needs to be somewhat original and not just another version of an already existing game.

your games look good tho as a roblox player i see flaws of the game that hold it back from success such as the spammed ui cluttering up the screen which just isnt pleasant to look at. most games have a developer team to really have every point of a game like building, scripting, ui and stuff done by someone who knows how to do that better than a "beginner" because your success as a solo developer is impressive and should really get more attention, maybe by creating individual communities like discord servers for each game to spike its success whilst you announce the release in a main community discord server where the subscribers or fans in general could do idk what.

The flashy bright visuals and ui really doesn't appeal to me and hurts my eyes and ruins engagement, especially with how much of your screen it takes up. More subtle color tones with more details look way better with maybe a slight glow. I also noticed in your palworld game that the trees and grass weren't very detailed and in the anime game the buildings were poorly built, i would recommend using more textures the graphics really matter.
