So many original buildings remain, preserving the character of Bridgport, and these blocks you captured have some unique facades. Thanks for all your videos!
My 1st memory of East Main Street was in the early 1950s(1951 or 1952??). My mother took my brother and I to a movie theatre on East Main Street to see the movie "King Kong". I remember the line to buy tickets went "around the block". I remember we had to take 2 buses from our home in the West End(near Mt. Grove Cemetery). Back then, "1st run" movies were mainly at the Lowes Poli and Majestic Theatres. Back then, East Main Street was euphemistically called "The Great White Way East" because it was lit up like Broadway in NYC at night. I hope some day you do a video of Washington Park on the East Side and Seaside Park in the South End. You might want to do a video along North Ave from Rooster River to Park Ave. Across from Mt. Grove Cemetery were 2 Bpt landmarks: Casa Frouge Apartments, Bpt's 1st luxury apartments, and Beechmont Dairy. The Frouge Apartments went up on a large vacant lot. There were 2 houses where that little type park now stands. The Butler Business School was a secretarial school that my mother attended when it was on Broad St. across from the Bpt Library. It later moved to the old Beechmont Dairy building. P.S. If you need info about Seaside Park, I have a ton of it. I was a vice president of the "Friends of Seaside Park" and a co-founder of 2 other organization that try to get the beach resanded.
keep putting out these videos aryland---much appreciated.
Thank you for watching! Let's make Bridgeport great again!!!!

I'm pretty sure the remodeled building you show is where my parents took me for shoes at Phillips Shoes Store. A lot of changes in Bpt.
