What's up, everybody! Jun here from Buzzlingual. 😃 This video is dedicated to all those parents out there who are or are interested in doing bilingual parenting. It's been an amazing experience for us raising 2 (soon-to-be 3) bilingual children. With Teito, we were told maybe we should use Japanese only, but we stuck with English at home and now he can use both languages! We hope this video serves as inspiration to all of you. But we also understand that every family is different, so please decide what is best for yours and give it your all. Teito has come such a long way and I am so proud of him. As his speech develops, I get to see more and more what a funny, caring, and lovable guy he is. This also means I need to talk, talk, and talk some more with all 3 of the kiddos. You may have noticed that my uploads aren't as frequent as they used to be. I want to create the best videos possible, and with my limited schedule, it naturally slows down my video creation flow. But the bigger reason is that I've started to prioritize my family more. I don't want to waste a second that I could be spending with Mina, Teito or Riley. When I'm not at work, I want to make the most of that time by doing chores and looking after the kids. It's also nice to unwind with Yuka at the end of a hard day's work. I'm passionionate about this channel and I've got no plans to stop making videos. So thank you for your continued support. See you... NEXT TIME!
OMG, Jun is talking in Japanese! Teito is answering in English. That was interesting✨😄It's very understandable that you don't upload as frequently as before. There are so many things to give priority at home. As you mention, quality time with children and your spouse is the most important of all. I've always respected that you and Yuka are such dedicated parents, and I admire both of your qualities of the soul. "How about Macdonald"s?" I love Teito reminding you that his priority at that moment was going to Mac and getting his "Hato Bus" set. Yes, indeed, he has a lovable character who makes everybody smile😄💖 Happy Father"s Day✨
Isn't my Japanese so weird?? I cringe watching myself talk. I mean, who uses teineigo to their kids? And Teito is a creature of habit so he was probably very disturbed by me talking to him in a different language! Thank you for always sending us your words of encouragement! ゆかさんの仕事復帰で、夫婦で協力して子育てされている姿、本当にすてきです。たとえ投稿頻度が落ちても、必ず毎回見ますね！😊「日本語で育てた方がいい」と言われながら、バイリンガルで育てようと決めたお二人の決断は、きっと実を結ぶはず😊だって、こんなにたくさん発達にしついてお勉強されたり、話しかけたりしているんですから！ うちの子は、英語で話しかけると「日本語で！」と言ってくるので、Teitoくんと反対だーと思いました😂 手術を頑張ると言ったTeitoくんに「You're such a trooper.（強い子だ）」とおっしゃっていましたが、いつも私は、「You are a big boy!」と声かけしていたので、新しい表現の仕方を知れて嬉しかったです😊 いつも英語の語りかけを参考にさせていただいているので、vlog嬉しいです😊

I was astonished by Teito-kun switching between English and Japanese so naturally and automatically depending on whom he is talking to. I can tell how much you have shared your love and your gifted language skills with your adorable kids. I was also deeply impressed by your decision to spend more time with your family now that Yuka-san is back at work. Your decision is completely understandable and one that I (and I'm sure all the other fans of yours, too!) would like to respect and support. And right now, at this stage of my life, my wife and 3 children are definitely priority #1. But we also need an outlet and a way to treat ourselves, and that's what Buzzlingual has become for me. So THANK YOU for bringing so much joy into my life. When you and others cheer for our family, it inspires us to try harder and set a good example for all parents out there. Yuka and I are far from perfect parents, but we're always there for each other. I'm sure your special someone completes you too! Bilingualism is a facinating thing. たくさん育児書読んでいるのですがほとんどは図書館で借りたりしています👍😊動画で言っていたのは「父親の笑顔の効果は母親の10分の1しかない」と書かれていたものです。母が常に機嫌良くいることが大事。。。でも難しいですね💦

質問の答えですが、親から見るとやはり少し遅れというか、たどたどしい感じはありました。ただ、コミュニケーションとしては外で日本語で問題なかったので、先生やお友達、お友達のママからも特に指摘はなかったです。ただ、小学校はやはりお勉強として日本語で全て進むので、長文や読解力、想像してそれを日本語で表現するということは今でも少し苦手のようです。とはいえ、日本語力は入学してからぐんと上がっていますし、そこまで心配はしていません😂お子さんがどういった小学校へ行くかにもよりますが、Minaは入学してからはお家での日本語の勉強フォローはしています!
