Wow. Such a difference between baby doll and Kieran. We just don't see it on a day to day basis. Kieran is the cutest little guy.
Hate!? For picking orange for a color for a nursery…. Seriously! Some people have nothing better to do with their lives. I love orange and his nursery is perfect!!! You do what you love girl! You’re a great mother and you don’t deserve any hate at all! ❤️
I make Reborn dolls. They are using them in movies too.
They are using them for therapy dolls in Nursing homes. They lower blood pressure and they find less medication is needed. You can comb her hair with a toothbrush.

I used to collect dolls as a hobby and reborn dolls were part of that Collection.
It was a hobby, just that.
Now my daughter collects dolls specifically reborns.
She has mental health struggles and the hobby has been a huge help for her in many difficult ways.
I really do wish that people were not so judgmental.
As long as a human is not harming another, then go for it.
I will NEVER never forget the feeling of the threads from my wisdom teeth sutures. Especially on the bottom...and it's been almost 15 years. Ewww..The ADHD sensory issues are real.
And on the subject of toxic work culture, my therapist always says: "Slower is faster, and softer is stronger." Meaning , going at your body's natural pace leads to a better outcome in the end because you don't burn out. Rest is so good for your long term well-being, an I fully support shrugging off the guilt. It's a hard message to embrace, when you're neuroivergent and and are conditioned for decades to believe your way of being is inferior. But accepting that I either move at hyper-speed or not at all has helped me A LOT.

How has Kieran turned into a little boy overnight instead of a baby, can’t believe how big he has gotten. He is so precious and that screeching is too cute but I’m sure only for like the first five minutes for mom 🦖🦕. Thank you for sharing your lovely family with us. 💕

i love reborn dolls. I have about 200. I am a doll collector. Many people have reborns to help them cope with child loss, infertility mental illness. I am just a doll collector. I see mine as dolls and i do not feel the need to treat my dolls as if they are real babies. I was never blessed with children but i have learned to accept that and i am embracing all the positives that come from being child free.
Yes I had a 103 degree temperature and stomach problems and worked when I could I’d lay my head down. As for the doll just tell them it’s your model that you don’t have to pay. And if they mind their own business they won’t have time to mind yours.
You create such beautiful pieces.
For me it helps to remind myself that even though 'I' am not doing anything, my body is working hard to heal, recharge, etc.

Wow! Look at how big Kieran has gotten! I understand how you worked while sick. While I was in labor with my daughter I was running up and down the basement stairs doing laundry and running the vacuum cleaner over the carpets. I didn’t have sharp contractions until I stopped. 😊
Such cute set and the bib and things at the end!! Darling!!! Yes, I've worked sick many times, like a double edged sword. They are upset if you bring it in the office but are pissed if you're gone 😂. Kieran is such adorable. And orange is beautiful in that nursery!!! 🧡🧡🧡 And great idea with the doll!!
I think the doll is a great idea for your shop, and also for when you are pregnant again and ready to teach big bro. He's getting so big! Those big blue eyes. He's gonna be a heartbreaker someday. lol

Definitely a great idea with the doll. When I am purchasing things from a photo I definitely am more drawn to something on a person or in context instead of just an items laying there. I feel like it is so much easier to see what you are really getting and how it will look. I love seeing the ‘behind the scenes’ for the things you do for your shop (how you do the photos and the sewing itself etc). My family is a crafty bunch and we’re considering an etsy store. It would be interesting to hear you talk a little more in depth about your experience setting up a shop and being a seller. We are looking more for a creative outlet with the upside of some income, so I am always interested in people’s experiences. Hope your teeth are healing well. I had an absolutely miserable time getting my wisdom teeth to heal back in the day.
Starting an Etsy shop is so easy. I set mine up 2 years ago at the urging of a friend who had recently set her own shop up. We've both had great success! I mainly started mine as a fair isle knitting shop just as a hobby so that I could purchase more yarn and make things for others rather than just myself and family/friends. I love creative outlets and now I've been doing more sewing for my shop.

Some of the reborn babies are super creepy but some don't look ugly at all. That one doesn't really look creepy. Yellow is a great cheerful color.

The doll is super cute and a great idea. I have one, my sister makes them and my mom and her got together and planned out everything and gifted me a baby girl.❤ She's beautiful and I have her on the guest room bed and she gets carried a lot 😊.

You do what works for you! I would rather buy items with a model in them, versus just a picture of that item. Kieran is getting so big, such a cutie. I had three reborns, and a doll that they use in schools. For me the dolls helped to cope with my infertility. I have since sold them, because my miracle is now 5yrs old.
The older Kieran gets the more he looks like you. My goodness he’s beautiful and getting so big. I love the doll. No hate here as I have one myself. Thanks for sharing. The yellow was my favorite.

That boy is a thinker! You can see the wheels turning :) Also, I think it's a great idea to have the realistic doll. I loved the little outfits (forget what they're called) especially the yellow one. I'll never understand haters. Who cares what they think. I was thinking about what you said about always having to be productive. Now, I'm not always as productive as I should be but if I'm not productive I feel guilty and I know it's because of my mom. She never stops and she's 80. So that's where my guilt comes from lol. Since the pandemic, I have found employers and fellow coworkers prefer you stay at home when sick...cold, flu, Montezuma's revenge, etc. 🙄 This week I only worked 12 hours (from home) while dealing with an upper respiratory infection. People, please, please, please...if you're sick...stay home. If you can't, then mask up and be conscientious about others that don't want whatever you have.

It is not the culture here in UK if your really sick😢 you are allowed to take 5 days off. Then when your better you go to Dr and if he thinks you can work he writes certificate to say you are fit to return. ❤. XX

So here’s my take on being productive…. If I’m sick or in pain or healing in any way, if I don’t stop and take care of myself, then I CAN’T give/do my best because I’m not 100% me. And that’s not fair not to give my best. AND if I push myself too hard, that just prolongs the healing time/process and that is counter productive in the long run. Just something to think about. 😏🤔😁

Why is your sewing machine needle not centered?You take the chance in breaking a needle when its like that. I've been a seamstress for over 50 yrs. You make beautiful swaddles! I hope you sell lots of these. i make bibs for the NICU in my area. I've made over 200 so far. i would like to make some swaddles for them too! I have asked the ladies for their old wedding gown also so I can make christening gowns for deceased babies as well as live ones. I love making these. Our group is called "For the Babies". We have a lot of things we make for them.

Oh, I hope you haven’t trimmed its eyelashes. My girlfriend’s baby boy inherited her gorgeous long eyelashes and were way longer than your doll’s. Your live model is growing so much, so this doll should be very useful for your Etsy shop.

I don't see you resting even if America was "perfect" and had full paycheck for taking a sick day policy. You're your own boss and still thinking no rest. I think this no sick days' depends on your job. Whether you have co-workers and bosses who'd understand. My dad is a truck driver with every other M-Th off so sounds like lots of time that oh you can work while sick. Should have gotten sick on your off week, but he can call and say he's not going to be able to do the delivery and someone else can do it. Several times. However, there's bosses who are jerks. I'm disabled and learned I can't even work 5 hours a week. I was sick and tried to call in sick. Literally was told I work only 5 hours, I can come in. By the end of the 5 hours, I was ugh.
@@deassfgh7807 much more work needs to be done for the disabled. I was lucky to have a manager who knew I was disabled and still said I'm hired. Though voc rehab & my job couch prob helped . How quickly we both discovered my limit is 5 hours a week but that was ok ( until I was sick). A year later, there's a manager change. This one seemed to want to transfer most employees. They told me they told the other nearest location store manager I'm disabled. I don't remember how long it took but I felt like that other manager was expecting something different when told disabled and I felt like they just wanted to fire me. I can't work fast and of course when the store is busy, you gotta go fast on the register. I even said I should do stocking. Nope they decided keep doing the register. My mom said go to HR for this after being fired, but it's like why? When I'll get my job back with a manager who clearly regretted letting me be transferred to the location. Already sux I can't do what I want, then to deal with people who don't want to hire adds to the "why should I bother" feeling.
I own 2 reborn dolls and about 100 other dolls, they are so therapeutic.
