Thanks for sharing, enjoyed watching! Gleaners are great machines! Got a GleanerK myself, been enjoying it. Born raised on JD’s combines but GleanerK seems to be easier to work on most of the time!
I saw a Gleaner today out pounding corn, its rare to see a big field with only 1 combine going usually anywhere from 2 to 5 going at the same time. This Gleaner was cooking right along and of course it was a big as a smaller shop and was running a 12 row header, and he was not running very slow at all, there were also 4 semis at the end of the field they were dumping the grain cart into!
That cab must be some later additon. When that combine was new, a hundred bushels and acre was considered a good yield. They were never built to handle what we have now. I think it had the same engine as a D 17 about 45 horse or so. They were a great little machine for small grain and with a ten foot header for beans.
I bet you one thing, when that thing was new, you could look over a real good field of corn from the cab. Now you can barely see what's in front of you for all the corn plants. Farming have surely changed in many ways.
Very interesting, i have a pair of English built model A,s. Neither have cabs. Do you find the cab restrictive at all. I kind of like being out in the open. Even though i get covered in dust then cooked at the same time. We don't do maize were i live. Not with combines like you do. Very occasionally i have heard of it. I haven't ever seen a combine cutting with a corn row header like you have on the vid. Only ever seen traditional grain headers is use. I probably need to get out more! We do have forage harvester whole crop harvesting it for livestock feed and energy production would you believe. Yes ridiculous i know but never mind. Thanks for the vid i would love to have a closer look but i live about 8,000 miles away. Keep the good work up.
I could listen to that thang run all day nothing like em!!
Great video of the old girl. My brother still runs a CII he picked almost 100 acres with it this year corn and beans. I run an M2
Thanks for sharing. That's a clean looking machine. Seems to run great.
Loved my old Gleaner E I had.
We had an e ,we ran a 13ft grain table on her in 2nd gear with hydraulic all the way back.dam nice combine.
The shorter video format is just fine :) any amount of watching aged iron working is a good thing :)!
Great little tool , good video 👍🇬🇧
Thanks for taking us along. Be sure to keep us informed with another video when you get fixed. Good luck
What a wonderfully improvised looking contraption.
Cutting edge of technology in the day
That's a piece of history in action. Hope it will always be run every year

It was fun while it lasted, thanks for sharing!
Imagine when two rows was an impressive header size
It was no doubt a better time.
@@dorperranch3748far better time

Nice looking Gleaner. We have an early G in the barn. There's no fun when that raddle chain gets plugged up.
cool little machine
A wide row head in narrow rows .I did like the video
Thanks for sharing 👍👍'sup...
At one time the Gleaner was the best combine out there. I grew up shoveling oats from an IH model 93. The oats were always full of ragweed seed.
I'm seeing lots of videos of old gleaners earning their keep on RUclips. Not many from other brands.
That's because the Allis Chalmers Gleaner is the only one that stood the test of time

I think the Gleaner E has the same engine as the d17. This has a 6 cylinder. The cab was made by ansel
@@JandLVideos Well,it has been a long time since i was around one of those. Thanks for the correcrtion
I would have loved to run one bet it was a lot less dusty and dirty than the mounted picker we ran and I didn’t think it could get any better
I'm still running the 1984 M3.
6 row equipment

I was thinking the same. Corn plants used to be 1/2 as big.
@@mikefolknation2851 they were just as tall just not planted as thick!
Really hoping someday you guys are able to find 10-15 acres to run all your equipment on.
5:27 inspection door should be closed, so air blows across sieves.

I prefer the open station, but my brother (the one driving it in the video) he likes the cab
@@JandLVideos thanks, interesting old combine, what year was it built?

@@rbharvesters7404 it's an A, A2s started production in 1964
Love the vid! Now a belly deep surgury video.
That a machine boy’s I picked corn with a new idea 2 row mounted on a D-19 and I thought that was it
Hopefully it’s a easy fix amd you can show us some more how she runs!!
Hopefully!!!! We still have to try out our all crop 72 in some soybeans
You sell me the conbine and corn and grain head ??
Will you sell me all 3 pieces
Do you have a Instagram page
No, just this I've thought of putting a Facebook page together for us but haven't got around to it
Man, look at that cool ol’ thing! Nothing like a Gleaner. I assume the painted logos are original?
Yep they sure are!
