If you ever have the chance take an international carrier business or first class flight and you will see the difference. All business class is nice but the European and Asian airlines are incredible. Also hi cupcake 🥰
Domestic business and first is such trash by comparison. AA doesn't really have a nice product for international flights, but at least United does. Now the gulf carriers, they're on another level.
Nice video, finally a video about an I.S carrier business class that isn’t about complaining and how “superior” European and Middle East business class
Global Entry is totally worth it. It’s $15 more than TSA precheck and you have to do an in person interview at the airport, but so worth the hassle. You get precheck AND global entry which speeds you through immigration when you return to the US. Especially at airports like MIA, the lines can be daunting but with GE, you’re through in minutes. You can also do your interview when you are going through customs upon return from a trip, at certain airports.
We just got b back from Singapore, and using Global Entry was so easy. It was two of us versus a few hundred going through the regular line. Edit: My traveling companion did her interview and it vtook about five minutes, at the office located prior to baggage claim in Seattle. She was able to utilize Global Entry as well.
Great video!! Your excitement and appreciation were infectious. If you liked American's business class, you aint seen nothing yet! The business and first class on the European, Middle Eastern and Asian airlines are in a league above!
@dr.braxygilkeycruises1460 FYI sis I came from Dubai in June 2023 DO NOT go during summer months 😂. I went cause it was cheaper but dealt with biblical hot 112 degree weather. Seen Lions hunting Gazelle in front of the mall
This is the best business class review video on RUclips. I flew international J once and I had the same excitement as you for all of the fun perks. I can't wait to see more.
Love this review. I almost always fly business/first class. That price was fantastic especially international! Definitely get global entry. If you have certain Amex cards, they will reimburse you too
Jay, I loved your modest approach and enthusiasm to Business. I found it very relatable as, like you, I'm not accustomed to treating myself. Have made two trips overseas on employee passes in Business on both Delta and Air France but would never indulge myself. Heading back this Fall in Coach, alas!
I love this comment. I am a natural penny pinching and NEVER splurge but finally in my mid 30s and I have $$$ to spend going to get that business class ticket.
I love this for you. I’ve never watched your page before but it’s great seeing you enjoying this. Videos like this are one of the many reasons why I make sure I smile at my fellow Black travellers in business/first class. I generally fly first and business and on my most recent trip, I smiled at an elderly Nigerian man in business as well. The man spent the whole flight smiling back at me as if I was his granddaughter.
Hey J, as a pilot for American thank you so much for flying with us and glad you enjoyed your business class experience! Hope to see you up front again soon
Congrats J and glad you enjoyed the experience. Got to fly business class for work and now that I’m retired, I’m still hooked. Flying Virgin Upper Class from TPA to London next year for first time. Great video BTW!
Great video. I flew in 1st class from Norfolk VA to Seattle WA on American Airlines, and it was a totally different experience . The food and service were very good. I will definitely do it again. Thanks for sharing 😀
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Global Entry/ TSA Pre-check. Thanks for this video. Your excitement over this first experience was palpable. I agree, flying business class or higher is the way to go!
Global entry plus Clear is the way to go. If your regular traveler, I’ve flown business class twice last year on Copa airlines But my bank accounts strictly forbid it …..I do have the platinum card from Amex the centurion longe should be on your everyone wish list
Loved the video! I’m making my first overseas trip in February on AA and, like you, I splurged a little to upgrade to Business Class. It was great to see what to expect!
"Thanks, my first time flying Business" was cute! As others have mentioned, make sure to test out the International airlines next. Quality and amenities are next level. Happy traveling!
Haha Jay, now you have experienced business class, it will be very difficult to do long haul in economy! I’m old and grey and have decided that if I can’t afford business class for flights of 8 hours or more, I’m either going on a cruise ship, or I’m not going at all! I was recently in Japan and got 6 solid hours of sleep flying Westjet business class from Tokyo to Calgary. It was totally worth it! I have not flown on American but their setup in business class looks reminiscent of Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand, in that you face away from the window. Not my favourite setup, but I will be cruising to Australia in 2024 and coming back to Canada on Air New Zealand, so we’ll see!
@@rongarris8574It’s Gerarda, but no problem! I just returned from Mexico (4.5 hours in economy) and it was absolutely fine. Good legroom and awesome company.
@@petervonkanel4963 If you do, consider spending one night in Narita before embarking on whatever plans you have in Japan. I stayed at the Narita Airport Hilton, where I rejuvenated at the swimming pool before getting a good night’s sleep. The next morning I took the hotel’s free shuttle to the Narita Japan Rail station, but I did not take the train. I walked down a charming street to the Naritasan Shinshōji Temple, which is actually a big campus of historic temples and gardens. It was a lovely introduction to Japan. I even met an Air Canada pilot who was doing the same between flights. That afternoon I joined my group in Tokyo (we were doing a foodie tour).
As an Army soldier stationed in Korea, I had a PCS move that includes a free ticket on Korean Air, they overbooked the flight. Had an early flight I had to run to catch. But they upgraded me to first class. The recline to bed like seats are nice
This was interesting to see the difference between the have and have-by nots experiences. I have a close relative who inherited a lot of $$$ and says she’ll always fly 1st class forever more. Must be nice!
Thank you for sharing your trip in Business Class. Yes, it is nice to fly Business Class or First Class. Have you been adding points to your airline that you fly the most?? When you have your airline membership points, you can use your status to upgrade on some many trips. I take it you have applied for American's Advantage Program or United'sProgram or Delta's Program. And yes, walking into one of the many lounges is worth it to have a drink and a nice meal. So, apply to whom ever membership program to have better flights!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.😊😊😊😊
Good video as a first-time in Business class. Nice. Misleading title though. AA does actually (for now) actually have a First Class cabin on their 777-300s. You were on a 777-200 which only has Business. Those First Class seats are much nicer.
AA has gotten a lot better lately, while United and Delta have definitely gone down hill. Congrats on your first time in business. Hope you get to fly International First Class on AA before they phase it out. Do a deeeeeep dive on how points and miles hacking works and you could be the next big travel youtuber 😎👍
We take first class/business if we are traveling over 5 hours. I can’t sleep sitting up so it works for us. We are traveling to Sydney, Australia for a cruise/tour in January and with a 15 hour flight from Dallas we bit the bullet and are going business. We’ve been waiting to take this trip since before Covid so saved up to pay for it.
Excellent review! I have two business class flights coming up. One to LHR and one to FRA (Both originate out of DFW non-stop). I'm already a member of the Admiral's Club but I'm excited to use the Flagship Lounge. Again, thanks for sharing.
I upgraded to domestic first class once and now that's all I fly. It's hard to go back. Obviously not as nice as this but definitely better than economy. I don't fly very much so I make it work.
I love to travel, and I’ve watched a lot of videos about different experiences, and I’ve learned a lot. But…This video had me laughing from the start. I love the dry humor, agree about the Nintendo switch remote, and wanted to thank you for making my crappy day better! I subscribed within 4 minutes.
I fly first class with American every time. With me being a large woman (though I have now lost 76 pounds!!), the seats are more comfortable. I love that my luggage is free AND I get it first. The snacks are always way better, too. When my granddaughter travels with me (she's 10), she loves it! Once we traveled with her parents, but they were in Economy (I bought her ticket so she would travel with me). One of the funniest moments was me joking with her that her parents were in the "peasant section." I was JOKING! But once on the plane, at one point she went to the back to find them. She came back up their aisle and said loudly, *"Grammy, I found them! They're at the front of the peasant section!"* Everyone up front started laughing. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, J!
I travel for work and I do the same thing as you. Bought my ticket then paid for the upgrade. Business class on long haul flights is the way to go! Also, on a Business Class ticket, don't settle for the Admirals Club, hit the Flagship lounge, its WAAAAAAAYYYY better than the Admirals Club. Lastly, pay for the Global Entry, if you do a lot of international travel, because it comes with TSA Pre-check. When you apply, you pay $100 and will get a conditional approval after a few weeks. When you return from international travel (once you have the conditional approval), you can do the interview upon arrival.. takes all but 5 minutes.
Great video - International business class is amazing. It's been a while since I've been able to do that but for a while on Delta I could pay a little more for economy then use miles to upgrade to business class. Makes economy absolutely painful.
Wow! You lucked out. I have been to over 130 countries and avoid AA at all costs. Even my friends who work for them say they are awful. I am glad it was a good experience for you. Hi Cupcake!
Welcome to the slippery slope of business class where you get into the game of flexible dates, locations, point-reward credit cards, frequent flyer mile games, and using seat guru to research planes to make sure you get the one with "new" refreshed seats - not the old, dated cabin.
I think that is a wonderful way to travel!! Good video Jay. Happy holidays to you and Lauren. Hi Cupcake. BTW - noticed a "cupcake" on the video screen you were scrolling when you first started talking about video games. Hopefully you banked a whole lot of frequent flyer miles with AA.
I'm new to your channel and thoroughly enjoyed your video. You were concise and touched the important elements of airline travel. I'm glad that your travel experience was good!
Fun fact we have those express passes in the US as well for customs however they are only allowed to be given out for extremely tight connections. At the airport I worked at we would have to tell customs ahead how many we hand out.
Delta One is still my go to business class. I try to fly international at least once a year so I’m okay spending a bit for that 2 week long international escape
Those paid upgrades are a steal! That's why I don't book First Class outright because I usually get a reasonable paid upgrade offer at check-in. Case in point on my final flight of 2023...$51 to upgrade :) - Red
Always use the Admiral lounge and get all of your free food before boarding. They had a delicious filet mignon steak last week at JFK. It’s always available for First and Business Class passengers. Great channel.
Thank you for sharing your experience. You laid it out perfectly. I didn’t get that ticket through customs when I went first and business… so hopefully next time.
It looks fairly decent, but i recommend the gulf airlines, they have amazing Business class. I have tried Egypten Air, Qatar Airlines and Oman Air. Can highly recommend Oman Air, their long haul Business Class, is just beyond!! When flying long haul, if possible, go for Business Class! Anyway nice and relaxed review, Thanks
Jay, I enjoyed how you explained things about traveling business class didn't know that there was a free pass-through custom. Would love to see the rest of your trip of Europe. Good content. Happy Holidays and New Year 2024.❤
I'm smiling like a Cheshire Cat from where your channel started to today..BTW you belong anywhere you enter own it. I've seen numerous RUclipsrs filming in the Airline lounges.
I spent 25 years flying around the world for work. Sadly, I watched as prices got cheaper and service and such went down too. It was only the upgrades to business and first that made flying a couple hundred thousand miles a year bearable. Cut to the pandemic shutdown and now everyone flying for pleasure and most businesses working remotely and the airlines don’t love us business flyers like they used to. Which is OK, I don’t love them either. So I fly 10% of what I used to and I’m spending the couple million miles I had saved up on upgrades to make it easier to fly. With that said, up front is always the way to fly, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Don't think you're alone. As much as I love flying First and Business, I know that next year, when I retire, I'll be flying in the back of the bus. Nice review for a first time Biz Class flyer. I'm an AA Frequent Flyer and whenever I can domestically, I fly First, which is really no w a business class product unless you fly transcon.
You don't need to be rich to fly business class. Just understand each airlines loyalty scheme and use the one where you accrue miles through everyday spending. In the UK, we have BA's AVIOS which you can collect shopping at the supermarket, using their online portal for things like insurance and taking out a BA Amex credit card which gives you miles/AVIOS for every £/$ you spend.
Wow! That's so cheap! We're going to Vietnam in January our tickets were 1500 FOR ECONOMY lol and first class was $17,000 lol when I looked at first class to Paris is was 6k

Domestic business and first is such trash by comparison. AA doesn't really have a nice product for international flights, but at least United does. Now the gulf carriers, they're on another level.
Yes! All american airlines "business" or "first" classes are joka and literally dog shit 😅
True I don't wanna mention because they ain't paying me lol but I took ones of these and I was blown away
Don’t try to slip European in there. European airlines are closer to us airlines in terms of quality vs their Asian counterparts
For long distance yes, but biz within Europe is a total ripoff. Don't waste your money.
Jay you’ve gotta get TSA pre-check! It’s super convenient and not very expensive. So worth it!
We have both Pre-Check and Global Entry and it totally worth it. Especially after a long flight.
Get Global Entry instead because it includes TSA Pre check as well.
Yes! And lots of credit cards refund the cost, just gotta check your travel perks!
I highly recommend you do more lounge/flight reviews. This was cool. I'm a bigger guy, so I take comfortable travel seriously lol
Nice video, finally a video about an I.S carrier business class that isn’t about complaining and how “superior” European and Middle East business class

Yes please tell him! I would never travel without it! I love it! It's only $15 dollars more! Just $100! That is priceless! ❤
Definitely get Global entry, is quicker.
The only catch is that right now they are taking for ever. I put through my renewal in October and I'm still waiting on the letter.
I'm going to apply for Global Entry today! Thanks for mentioning this

Even I have Global Entry. 😊.
Love your videos Jay! Thanks!!
Lol the way my bank account is set up
Excellent video. Thanks for posting:)
I'm jaded having only flown International First/Business Class. I enjoyed your video, it will make me appreciate it more. Hi Cupcake!!
Great video great information wow! wow! wow!
Hi Cupcake! I hope you enjoyed the flight too! Thanks for the content!
