If customer service won't replace your damaged cards, initiate a chargeback for your purchase. Do not accept this.
What is a charge back ?
@@pounceysilverkitten It's when you go through your bank to get a refund for a fraudulent transaction, which includes being given defective merchandise and the merchant or manufacturer refusing to correct the issue. Only applies to debit/credit transactions of course.
Isn't this hurting the store that sold it to you more than WOTC?
@@LaLongueFourchetteIf you've purchased from an LGS give them transparency and recommend they do the same.
@@LaLongueFourchette Kind of. It forces the store to also seek remediation from Wizards. The money moves up the chain until it hits Wizards' coffers, at which point the message is sent. Send enough of them, and policies change.
It sucks for the stores, but you only have three options: bend over and take it, stop buying magic altogether (which also hurts the stores), or take measures to protect your own financial position.
They don't have time for quality control anymore. They have a big release every month.
It's amazing that MTG is even having quality drops in Japanese printings, Japanese card printers are top tier. Did they decide the Japanese market just doesn't matter enough to justify spending the money on that and switch to a Chinese printer or something?
Also, European Miku secret lairs aren't selling out anywhere near as fast as the NA ones seem to be, I wonder if the number printed for Europe is higher proportional to the player-base. Maybe it's just 10000 copies per region or something.
Wotc womt replace my “painbow precon” i just got that was factory errored and was only half the deck with 2 copies of each card; missing all the good half of the decl but double the basic lands…..said its “not on their replacement list” and wont replace or refund me at all. What a horrible way to handle customer service, and i know they can ship me a new painbow precon as they keep stock of everything they print.
The best card I got in my ONE booster box was a fucking List Urza’s Saga.
Omg me too lol
I actually liked the list. Its how i got a copy of Jin-gitaxis and sakashima's student.
During covid I broke apart all my decks, took everything out of trade binders, etc etc and just put all my MTG cards in straight alphabetical order. There is stuff like 20+ different Lightning Bolt from 6 different sets. 58 long card boxes. I was a pain, but you never have to go digging through different boxes trying to find a 4th Llanowar Elves because they are all in the same spot. I'd like to try and get them all into something digital but I only got two boxes into the Delver before I lost momentum.
The list should reprint old, one-printed cards ...
Like Thornbite Staff and Aphetto Alchemist....
Reprint them, WotC, you coward!
I said from the beginning that the list should have nothing from the previous 5 years. I opened an All That Glitters list card from a Commander Masters set box. The damn card is literally in Commander Masters. That's bs.
i havent even watched this yet and I ALREAADY KNOW my bones are gonna hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn. People getting to keep vintage cube stuff is crazy. I have the pleasure to draft a vintage cube on Mondays with my group and always a blast every time. Pretty cool of WotC to do. I've been on a USA print chase since foils from JP prints aren't just edge damaged, they look too murky and dark compared to US foils. Cheers Mike!
Another little neg for the prerelease kits - the Arena codes are now 1 per account. They were 3x then 5x and now just 1 because, you know, the cost of virtual packs. 😢 They gotta screw us virtually too.
Charging us more, worse quality, just so their CEO can have a McYacht to compete with that sitty CEO
The card quality is something that no one in my locals seems to notice or care about, and it's always awkward when I mention it. The response is usually that you are supposed to sleeve the cards anyway, but that's not what this is about. For me, the card quality is one of the most important things, especially now that everything costs as much as it does. Poor card quality shows a lack of respect to the people willing to spend that much money on your product. I wouldn't be surprised if we have reached a point where proxies would be better quality than official cards, it's insane. I refuse to buy new product, unless the card quality goes back up. Which is a shame, because Bloomburrow does feel more refreshing and interesting than many sets before it, and I was excited for it. Yes, the card quality has been dropping for many years now. But now it is immediately noticeable, and in combination with the increased prices, it is not something I tolerate anymore.
The change to the list is a big one, it effectively means that play boosters are now draft with art cards, The list was one of the best things about play/set boosters, the special guest is roughly 1 a case and only 2 of them has any use in limited. This will cause a lot of people to not buy this product. The worse thing that has happened, recently, was that my local now won't accept turning prize packs from draft and other events into store credit. They are not selling play boosters, it is only collectors and commander decks.
It used to be that you could tell the counterfeit cards because they were printed to a lower standard than real cards. Nowadays it's the other way around. And that's really sad.
@@os10v311 I don't mind proxies but straight-up counterfeits are bad. That's just my opinion.
I am not a fan of MacLean's artwork. Wizards always goes CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP on their selection of cards for the Secret Lairs. I wonder how bad the card quality will be by the end of the year. We pay premium prices for GARBAGE quality. Thank you for the video Magic Historian.
the best card quality i have seen in the last few years was Dominaria Remastered. when i opened it. i put on gloves after realizing the quality. i want that to be standard
😂😂 gloves? Gtfoh
Sure hope Universes _Within_ can continue...
The ship has long since sailed on that.
I bought 1 box of ass creed that I got a good deal on. Got decent pulls to. Overall, I was/am happy.
But one thing that really stood out to me was the card quality. I did not have print issues, and the colors came out right and vibrant, but they are the thinest cards I've seen yet. They're so flimsy compared to other cards.
Got my The List Snapcaster last week for about $17
@@os10v311 i get your point, but Id prefer a real card licensed and produced by WotC. Proxies are nice for super expensive cards, but not my style for normal cards.
It is absolutely Ultimate Guard.
I don’t mind curls but the scratched edges and the rough scratched scuffed surface is a big bummer.
5 chapters wasn't enough for Bloomburrow lore, but of course WotC will only give us enough of a taste of the good to keep us old heads still invested
The List was a great idea that in patented WotC fashion was horrifically misused and attempted to maximize value out of. I'd prefer it to special guests. Just put the mark on a actually good small selection of cards related to the set instead of all the garbage. I don't understand new art and a different set symbol and everything. 1 in every 8 packs was fine, just make them cool. Reprint equity is such a garbage concept, I just wanna play the damn game
Ive defoiled my my collection. Ive traded in foils of cards for non foils. I have 40+ empty collector booster boxes and now i wont even buy a single collector pack because...it gives foils. I dont want foils. So now i cant even buy sealed because there is a liability that my value will be wasted in a foil. Now its only singles so i can ensure no foils. I feel like a bigger baller in my own world for having 100% non foil decks. I see people post foiled out decks and now i see tacky garbage. Foil magic cards suck and theres few series in the past where theyre good. Foils are 110% for collectors who want to look at the card in a hard case. Foils are trash to the player.
This is just your opinion compared to the opinion of the players that like to use their flashy cardboard when they play. I know plenty.
I think it is the Nirkana Revenant that is talking to it's mom ;)
yup, Vampires don't like sunshine coming in the window. Historian in a bad mood I think.
Laughs in vampiric tutor list pull
Getting rid of the list means 2 to 3 rare less per box. Seems to be another way to get less by WoTC.
Talk to Wizards with your wallet, it’s the only way they’ll listen to you.
I'm guessing the flavour text on Nirkana Revenant is referring to it being a vampire.
I thought assassins creed had great card quality especially the collector packs
4:47 ask yugioh how it went when they tried a lower card quality in japan. Hopefully that is the wake up call wotc needs to say at least one market won’t accept the trash quality
Im not really a Miku fan but i do like anime and magic so i got them for my collection and with the hopes that they could be some value adds if i do sell my collection at any point
Arbor elf makes more sense as death right
Finally, and alt art promo Arbor Elf
with all The List cards they should do Mystery Booster boxes 2.0
Hey there's no audio
Turn up your volume
I find that when I buy singles at NM I don’t have as many issues with quality. Haven’t bought sealed products in years and I don’t regret it.
So you get one special guest card in about 2 play boxes? That seems ridiculous.
I want to correct you its Karlov manor not Markov manor.... but I keep saying that myself.
Good at least the Belgium-printed cards are still okay! Not like they are all pristine 10 out of the pack but not as banged up and smeared like some of the newer US/JP prints.
Its unnacceptable !!!
Goes out and continue to buy product after product. Bro im with you on the card quality being crap but complaining over and over but still giving wotc your money means nothing.
_Somebody_ has to if we're to get info to report on.
Flattening out curled foils doesn’t work. The reason they curl it’s a humidity issue now off the top of my head. I can’t remember like if convex or concave to fix and make the opposite way so it can go straight is less humidity or more humidity. I have to double check that but I know it’s the humidity issue that’s straightens and flattens the cards out, putting books and stuff on them doesn’t do it they will just go back
There's a process to adjust the humidity in the cards that I can't recall off the top of my head, and you can then put the card in a sealed sleeve/ double sleeve to lock the value in. They should just switch to exclusively etched foils so this is no longer an issue; trading cards shouldn't have to be treated like an acoustic guitar.
In Europe all I do is put my card in a double sleeve then leave it pressed by other prerelease cards for about 1 month until I have time to sort them
welp. i hope i get cards printed in Belgium then.
I remember buying the first Miku set, i was desperate to get a foil one, that I didn't realize that i choose the japanese one bye accident, i mean, i don't mind te japanese, but I want to read my card and know what it does
I don't understand peoples buying MTG set with foil (collector booster suppose to be premium but it's trash). If nobody buy it they will maybe start making good quality. I don't buy foil, first I buy single. I have MTG foil cards from 25 years ago and quality is not the same.
Guess im only buying sealed magic with my amex so i can charge back
The card quality isn’t good? Oh no much surprise
play booster are getting worse and worst we playing more to get set booster feel but got more draft booster ..... and we are paying more .....
Ive had rares come out of the pack unreadable the print was so bad lucky it was worth nothing
Give me Magic Miku ...
Buy European?
Sounds like a bunch of animal cards with reprints thrown it. I'll pass.
Hands down Chinese print has been flawless lately
...and portuguese no more.
Hotsune Mikeu is the only pop star for me.
Never heard of hatsune until the secret lairs. Still don't care bout it, and I am starting to hate the thing more and more as I learn more about it.
LoL this set is whack
