Magibon was the OG creepy for me. I never knew anything about her stalker stuff but I do remember hearing about it and finding that staring into the camera like that for videos was just creepy.
Love how I'm coming here a whole two years later just to say that now, in 2021, I far prefer an on-camera format. It's become less typical for major content creators to be facecam-less, and it makes the video feel more... "professional"? Somehow? When the person has a facecam. Hard to explain. It feels like you're putting a human face to your brand which makes it feel more accessible

This feels way too artsy for an actual stalker. The effort put into the videos, the editing, the really good props. The heavily edited videos from "Frank" aren't typical of actual stalkers or crazy people. Most people legit crazy tend to just post raw video. This is likely either done at the behest of Magibon herself for additional publicity or it was some guy purposefully attempting to stir the shit pot. These people _do_ exist. As you were able to deduce, it was the latter option.

Give the creepy stalker man some credit. This happened in like, what? 2008? That was quite a ways before Marble Hornets, EverymanHYBRID and the like. It wasn't an over saturated method of creepy shit, from my knowledge there was really only Ringu. Or The Ring, for western audiences.

Man i remember when she started uploading and got popular on sites like 4chan. Its such a weird feeling realizing that I'm now old enough that a lot of these things can be covered in this documentary style.

I think narration works for the creepy aesthetic. You can sound really spooky, but you don't look spooky, you look like a normal person, so it's distracting, I think.
Well, he isn’t exactly doing it to be “Spooky” he even states in the video that he wants to try and become more personal with his viewers. I feel him showing himself is, as you said, to show he is a completely normal looking person. We gotta remember that with everything on the internet these days, we look to these people as “higher beings” and “famous” whereas to most of these people making videos, it’s simply their jobs that they are very passionate about.

I think it was quite obvious that "Frank's" Videos where fake. They where so creepy with all the cuts and filters and disturbed sound effects and whatnot. They have been produced to be creepy. It takes quite some work and planning to create something on this level of creepiness. If Frank would be a twisted stalker, his videos would certainly not look like that. More like a handheld VLOG or something directly uploaded without editing. Why should a character like Frank bother to invest hours of work into a video? If such a dude would upload anythin at all i recon it wouldn't look like that...

Personally I like you jumping back on screen because it offers a kind of break from the tension when you show us the creepy stuff. Also, my boyfriend is starting to get into the more horror side of RUclips and your channel is kind of a great starting point for me to show him stuff.

Even if this whole thing was meant as a social experiment it’s really exploitative and creepy with how he went about it. Magibon’s content wasn’t really commonplace at the time but that really wasn’t an excuse to pass her boundaries and make her think she was actively being stalked by someone who could’ve been a danger to her as you said, and then go on to have such a massive unwanted influence on her internet presence...I’m glad she’s doing well for herself now. As for the video I think you made the on/off screen commentary work really well!
@Nexpo I think that's really important that you pointed out that even if her stalker was creating an "art project" that the issue of stalking is very serious. That is sad to me that her fan meet-up had to be canceled for safety precautions and I cannot imagine how scary it can be to know someone made a weird unnerving video like that "for her."

Well, he isn’t exactly doing it to be “Spooky” he even states in the video that he wants to try and become more personal with his viewers. I feel him showing himself is, as you said, to show he is a completely normal looking person. We gotta remember that with everything on the internet these days, we look to these people as “higher beings” and “famous” whereas to most of these people making videos, it’s simply their jobs that they are very passionate about.

I think it was quite obvious that "Frank's" Videos where fake. They where so creepy with all the cuts and filters and disturbed sound effects and whatnot. They have been produced to be creepy. It takes quite some work and planning to create something on this level of creepiness. If Frank would be a twisted stalker, his videos would certainly not look like that. More like a handheld VLOG or something directly uploaded without editing. Why should a character like Frank bother to invest hours of work into a video? If such a dude would upload anythin at all i recon it wouldn't look like that...

Even if this whole thing was meant as a social experiment it’s really exploitative and creepy with how he went about it. Magibon’s content wasn’t really commonplace at the time but that really wasn’t an excuse to pass her boundaries and make her think she was actively being stalked by someone who could’ve been a danger to her as you said, and then go on to have such a massive unwanted influence on her internet presence...I’m glad she’s doing well for herself now. As for the video I think you made the on/off screen commentary work really well!

@Nexpo I think that's really important that you pointed out that even if her stalker was creating an "art project" that the issue of stalking is very serious.
