Pioneer TX-608 Tuner Repair & Restoration (1979)...Vintage Audio Restoration.

The Pioneer TX-608 is a very fine mid-market tuner, popular in the 1980s. This particular unit would not power up, so I did some diagnosis and determined that one, or more, of the electrolytic capacitors downstream from the transformer had probably failed. I’ve just bought the tri band version, the TX-608L and currently waiting for it to arrive in the post.
Apparently the seller says it’s all working so it will be interesting to see if the description was honest and accurate.
I’ve heard the term “re-capped”, which I am assuming capacitor/s changed.
You obviously did just a trouble-shoot and repair to get the unit working. But is there any benefit from replacing ALL the capacitors for new ones in a unit like this?
Or is it generally a case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”?
