  • How to make corrugated metal siding in N scale or any other scale with a cool tool from Brunel Models. This is a cool tool that has been available in HO scale for some time but, to my knowledge, is new to N scale.

    Ron - You are impressive. You are regular as the seasons in the mid-west. You present with some serious continuity. Your content is both informative and enjoyable. Never pretending to be the expert, you put us at ease. And you spend OBVIOUS amounts of time, cheerfully. Thanks, be it words or money, doesn't seam enough - but it's what I got. Just please don't attach my level of appreciation with the amount of my thanks.
    Thanks for sharing...

      Thank you so much for your kind words. When I started this channel a little over a year ago I really had no idea where I was going with it or where it would go. I have to admit it has been a lot of fun and it's become a second hobby of its own that I really enjoy. I especially enjoy knowing that it helps people. Thanks again.

    Just laying a piece of heavy duty foil on top a sheet of fine grooved styrene sheet (Evergreen) will cost you $5 and let you do a large sheet at a time that can then be cut into strips easily. I like this tool, but it's the slowest way possible. Do a full sheet at a time with the grooved siding sheet and simply run your finger or a rag over the foil to get the imprint.

    • @peacemeal3196
      @peacemeal3196 3 года назад

      Yes great idea. Just tried it with both Evergreen car siding (2020) and also clapboard (4031). I used an old cloth to get the finer corrugations for the 2020 technique, but used a pencil eraser for the 4031 and both results were awesome, fast and high volume...can basically wipe down a whole A4 sheet in a few minutes.
      Great suggestion Woozleboy

    I failed to suggest that you use heavy duty aluminum foil for this process. The light weight stuff tears too easily and doesn't hold its shape as well after forming.

      +bnsf6951 Well, Vinny, that is the subject of a whole other video, which is a cool way of saying I don't know yet. I have seen guys in HO stick frame a structure and glue these on, but I'm leaning toward building with plain styrene and laminating this on with CA, but let me play with it and I'll post that video in a couple weeks.

      I am not in the construction industry nor am I a carpenter, I wanted a good guide to help with small projects such as small sheds and some remodeling around the house. So there’s a magic which is Shed Plan [ visit here *WoodBlueprints. Com* ]. This Shed Plan covers all my instructions from top to bottom in a step by step manner.

    You can roll a spring across the metal for the same effect or coil a wire around a dowel to make the ridges any size desired depending on its gauge. The spring can have a rod thru it like a rolling pin or use a rigid board on it like ridding a skateboard and scrapbookers embossing foil is ideal for corrugated metal. Tin foil can be glued in layers like playwood and rolled will still wet backed with baking payer to dry. Embossing foil can be drilled, curled, bent without losing much detail and withstands etching better plus mak hobby centers carry it in their jewelry area.

    • @RonsTrainsNThings

      You would have to have or make some sort of tool in that scale, which I do not have, but with the correct tool it would work exactly the same.

      Cool video, I have watched that one before. - Now leverage that. "Tin Lizzy, stick around to the end (for a great video on a) (For Something Completely Diffract about) (Real,Starting,Cool etc.) Tin Lizzy" You have tied the start of your video to the end of your video and have given people a reason to stick around for the entire video to see what our talking about at the end of your video. Your video now has a 2nd plot line to follow. 2 chances to hook people for your entire video. I'm all over the place buy I try little hooks etc. to keep people around to the end of my video. It could be bloopers, links, running trains with rock music etc. You are also doing a greet job with your tags too.
