    JiU, Siyeon, and Dami talked a bit about what the song means during their press conference. JiU explained that the song is inspired by the rest-year system they do for national parks, where entry is prohibited because leaving nature to its own ecosystem for a year helps cultivate healing and growth. So it's meant to be saying goodbye to Earth, at least for now, so it can heal. Dami reiterated that it's about taking a break from something you love *because* you love it and know that everything needs time alone to recuperate. Siyeon said it's about any human who feels joy and falls in love will experience "farewell" in life, and it's about saying goodbye temporarily. At its heart it's still very much about the environmentalism but was written in an ambiguous way that it also can apply to other meanings, such as a relationship or friendship.

      WOWWOWOWO!!!! See, I never would have come to that conclusion. I can see the ambiguousnous because of the lyrics. They seemed a tad generic so I wasn't too concerned about not knowing them. I didn't know that there actually was a story behind them. I should have know that there was. That's such a neat story and a good way to do things. Everything needs a break from time to time. We all need to heal and so does mother nature. Thank you for sharing and filling me in!

    There is a deeper meaning to this song. In JiU's own words, "Bon voyage means 'have a good trip' in French. You say that when you expect to see that person again. I hope to see the earth healthy again because it's being destroyed." It ties in with the message of the rest of the trilogy. So in a sense it is indeed a love song, like a love letter to mother earth.

      I found out that there was more to the story about healing the Earth and then coming back after some time. Yes, I didn't see it when I was reading the lyrics, but luckily you guys let me know the story so THANK YOU THANK YOU!

    You need to check out the rest of the album, it's amazing. Dami goes crazy on Demian. Propose is for sure my favorite on the album and my new #1 B-side.
    As for their hair, Dongie and Siyeon are wearing extensions and when Gahyeon has super long ponytail, it's most likely an extension. JiU, SuA and Dami have the natural long hair atm.

      I gotcha dude! I've downloaded Demian and I have the Propose video that they did in some studio or live on air(not too sure I dont wanna spoil it) downloaded. I'm doing a double reaction tomorrow. I ran out of time today, but have a 3 day weekend. I did listen to a 3 second snippet of Demian and almost lost my shit already. It's going to be a good weekend. Have a safe weekend and I'll get some cool shit cranked out ASAP.

    Maybe you didn't catch on to this in this video but fans have speculated that the lyrics are the girls speaking primarily from the perspective of mother nature, since this trilogy is about apocalypse/global warming/climate crisis.
    "Maybe you don't but, I love you" - Mother nature still loves humans despite humans for the past several decades being unreasonably selfish and destroying it carelessly.
    I think this song (which is the final one in the Apocalypse trilogy) is a "love song" but not exactly because it isn't actually describing a lover but it's describing the relationship between humanity and mother nature. Even if we humans do not love mother nature, mother nature still loves us and seems to have loved us unconditionally despite us collectively destroying it for our own benefit.
    It's pretty clear that Bon Voyage is set towards the end of this trilogy versus at the start of the end, because at the end of Bon Voyage MV we see the camera pan out to the desolate landscape which was ever present from the beginning of the crisis in Maison's MV now being surrounded by green nature.
    This would put the way they've changed the perspective here on par with the perspective change in Maison where we see from the choreo it's Dami trying to warn and go against the rest of the girls to make them realise the problem.
    I guess to shorten, Bon Voyage is about humans realising how much they've hurt our home, and is an emotionally charged goodbye letter that expresses the realisation that we need to leave our home in order for our home to heal.

      I'm starting to see more and more of that and I didn't realize it because I feel it does take a bit of interpretation but I can see it after it was explained to me. Thanks for helping me out more. This group continues to build meaningful stories.

    • @gyrthez246
      @gyrthez246 Год назад +2

      @@the_talking_muffin I think most of DC's songs take some level of interpretation because they don't outright say "bullying is bad" like in the Dystopia series but define it by lines like "Why do you fill your precious time with hate", "My tied up hands are getting numb", "This isn't fun at all, who is this for?", "The end is sitting at the edge of a cliff, it'll be a choice where regret only remains" etc.
      I think the only songs that don't take as much interpretation are their older songs (shakey shakey shakey love) or some of their b-sides. Most songs I've heard from them have some sort of interpretation required to understand the meaning though.

    To me the Apocalypse series is, they're superheroes who have come from another dimension to give humanity a VISION of what will happen to our Earth MAISON if we don't step up and save the planet now. They're almost leaving it up to us to make the changes while they return to their own world. This song makes me so emotional 🥹 Our substantive queens talking about issues that really matter! 🙌🙌

  • @majinzane

    Hope you're doing better after your health issue.
    Yup that's Dami! Dami's raps in Demian and Propose from the album are insane. Specifically, the one in Propose.
    Bonvoyage feels like the culmination of all of DC's eras, taking inspiration from the Nightmare series (j-rock), Deja Vu (rock ballad), Dystopia & Apocalypse (Electronic), to create something that blends them all together.
    Sua sings at the end of verse two (the one you found and were saying hi to her, lol) and during the bridge, she's the one who hits the first high note right before Siyeon's big belt in the final chorus.
    Dongie is great! Her first name is Dong, last name Han, which is why they call her Dongie. It might also be because dong in Korean is "poop" so if they don't pronounce it right, they just end up saying poop. It happens a lot and there are a bunch of clips of her and the rest of the members saying it on accident. If she's starting to tug at you, you should check out her most recent cover "Night into Days" by Taeyeon. She's kills it.

    • @the_talking_muffin
      @the_talking_muffin  Год назад +1

      The one that really kills me is "Poison Love". The video where they shot it themselves. Handong is killing me in that video.
      I just watched the comeback showcase and I have to admit that I should have reacted to that one. I had way more fun watching that one. I could clearly see Sua sing and I could see Seyeon and Yeoheon (I butchered those spellings) really rush to the front of the line when they hit their parts in the chorus, I believe. Plus it was fun to see more of their personalities in a stage setting as opposed to a video.

    • @majinzane
      @majinzane Год назад

      @@the_talking_muffin Their self-made videos are hilarious. Everyone falling in love with Handong feels appropriate, lol. I love their music and they're easily my favorite group, but honestly the best thing about them is their personalities. The Poison Love mv is just a small example of how ridiculous they can be. Have you watched a guide for them yet? If not, you should react to one when you get time to. You'll definitely have people who want to watch that.
      That showcase was really good. I'm looking forward to seeing them perform on the music shows and I'm hoping they get at least one more win for Bonvoyage. I'm also hoping they do promotions for Propose as well. I feel like that concept would suit them very well for a live performance.

      @@majinzane I've watched quite a bit of their stuff- guides, shows, interviews, variety shows, etc. There is so much out there though I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. I kinda want to do a reaction to something of theirs that isn't a music video. I loved their video where they played drunk roulette and guess what's in the box. They are fucking crack heads and poor Dami is the quiet, sober one being the mom wrangling them LOL!

      @@the_talking_muffin If you want to do something that's not an MV and you want to laugh then the Unfiltered Idols series that Insomnicsy puts out are great. It's just compilations of them being ridiculous. There are 6 parts. If you've seen those there are plenty of other things.
      The Whats in the Box challenges are always hilarious.
      There's also covers. They have over 100 covers spread around youtube.

    Blocking is based on the source of your content. Some groups get blocked and channels that have the live music shows get blocked. Dreamcatcher content from their channel should not cause you any problems leaving the overlay off.

I didn't see anyone else have an overlay either. I will keep the text on about checking out the original artists content because that's important, but will learn more about the overlay process. I know these artists deserve their credit. Thanks for your help.
