Love this video, loved how you talked on your mindset while you were buying!!
Thank you!!!
LOVE THESE VIDEOS!
The videos love you too!
Great vlog bud. Thanks again for taking those monsters off my hands👍
I appreciate everything about you dude!
@@SamRothstein you too brother!
Couldn’t agree more with buying and selling at 70-90% of comps. Been a long time collector but very new in the selling aspect so this was very insightful. Thanks!
eBay minus fees, supplies, insurance = 85% which is in my opinion, the true cash value of a card. The comments about how I’m ripping people off in that range are ignorant at best. I have never and will never pressure anyone to sell me anything if they don’t want to.
No, I totally get it. Keep doing your thing! You got a new subscriber here
Appreciate it Jeff, thanks!
70-90% is totally fair. The only exception is if it's something really unique and you can work away from comps a bit. Especially stuff that are hobby exclusive or stuff before the whole over printing of retail products.
Awesome videos, it’s great how you get straight to the point!!!! Is the mahomes holo 10 still available?
Thank you! I sold it to a friend at the end of the show
Excellent vid. You could never buy at those rates (70-80%) in my area. It’s all about if you want to sell or buy at market value. Nobody wants to feel like they lost.
Totally fair! I’ll never pressure anyone or fault them for wanting to sell/buy at full comps.
Another great video. Keep up the vlogs
Thank you friend!
Wow so you were the person that won the Messi gold and puli red lol! Great win!
It was me!
Nice!
👌
Sam starting to use the Pawn Stars "Best I can do" Method of negotiating :D :D :D
Best I can do is 5 bucks
I set up at the Columbus show...it wasn't that bad honestly. But they could've done better advertising for sure. It was my best show of the year selling wise. Hope you are well Sam!!
Glad to hear! Maybe it was just Friday?
@SamRothstein yes Friday was no foot traffic..."vip" Saturday way better.
Am i the only one who feels like i've seen the guy in the black hoodie ( around 16:45 and also bought the burrow xrc ) somewhere else thats not related to cards 😅
RealbreakingNate is awesome
Great guy, really approachable. Enjoyed meeting him
You should come to the Salem Card Show, Sam!
Never say never, but if I make that drive, I’d want a big show
@@SamRothstein not exactly sure where you’re coming from but Salem isn’t too bad of a drive from Indy considering it’s all interstate. It’s usually a pretty solid show man. 50 tables and usually some BIG cards. October 14 is the next one, I’ll be set up!
I used to set up at that Fisher's show before covid. I tried lately and the promoter keeps telling me that they are full. I gave up!!
Yeah it’s a tough one to get in to
first! legend 🤝🤝

Always enjoy the content. Like that Santa Claus Downtown. You still have it?
I do!
do you sell online anywhere?

What app do you use to look up cards?
Cardladder
I buy bulk lots and then resell on eBay, I can’t see how you can make money from buying cards at 80%. I’m sure you do but aren’t the margins too small??
Margins are small no matter what, but sometimes I’ll buy a few things at 80% to help push a deal through
That kid said he saw one sell in october but it's only september. Im confused
I think it was last October
Buying is definitely hard when you're trying to buy at 60-70%. Strictly an observation, no hate.
I try to buy at that for cheap stuff, otherwise it’s just not at all worth the time.
Yeah for sure. The re-packers are paying high.
@@SamRothstein I completely get it. When I set up I try to be around 70% as well. That being said, with all the breakers and repackers paying 85-90% it’s hard to compete. I’ve definitely got more picky about what I’m buying when setting up
Oh for sure. People hold out for the repackers who may or may not come.
If you're not buying a lot. You're not getting 70% comp. If you're buying 1 card, then expect to pay a lot
Agree
Reality is your more of a collector than a business. Other collectors know 70 percent is too low. Dealing with anybody without a brick and mortar store is more like trading with a buddy. Any trade deals should be comp to comp. Not trying to insult you.. but your more of a buddy. Coming from another 'dealer/business' Everybody thinks they are a business paying Forty dollars for 1 table 1 day a week. Keep it a hobby
I don’t think having a Brick and Mortar store is a requisite for considering this a business, but I understand your point.
I'm willing to bet money Justin Fields gets benched before Week 10. He just doesn't see the field. Avoid at all costs.
Benched for who?
Imagine all the people that bought kenny pickett cards lol and he just had a career night and tmw his market will go back up lol
15/30 for 222 with 1 TD and an INT isn’t going to make anyone’s market go up
Sell 10$ cards to kids at full price and basically try to rob anyone selling to you great business plan
Lol
Link me a video of how you make money in cards and I’ll follow your advice
70-80% of comps isn’t robbing anyone 😂 if ya don’t like it than don’t watch
Ya he should just give it free to all the kids and sell under comp lmao
This ain’t charity Rick, it’s business.
