LYNN ANDERSON WAS BEAUTIFUL, CLASSY AND HAD SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SINGING VOICE! COUNTRY SINGER'S SUCH AS MISS. ANDERSON ARE RARE THESE DAY'S. YOU ARE MISSED. REST IN HEAVENLY PEACE. 💔 🙏 🕊 🕊 🕊 🕊
This beautiful lady always had a smile on her face and I will always remember that. I will treasure your performances forever R.I.P. my country sweetheart.😘🎙️🎶😍😘
Country music became a whole new ball game when this song came out. She had as big a hit as any artist could possibly have had at the time with this one. And, she remained a chart staple til the mid-1980s. So many hits. Artists of today won't have this luxury.
Her smile is sunshine with such a beautiful foestering masterpiece. Never stop loving this tune, I always want to sing along with that US angel, Lynn Anderson. Many country Greetings from Argentina.
Lynn's AWESOME!!!! To this day, she can EASILY out-sing just about anybody currently played on country radio!!!! I'd put her up against Taylor or Carrie and the like ANY DAY!!! And Lynn's very sweet, so very kind and caring! And what I'd give to have HAIR like Lynn's!!!!!
Allen MacCannell yeah how many songs rhyme the words jolly & melancholy together ( or even use the word melancholy) ? Very clever song just brilliant brings a tear to the eye.
+Allen MacCannell I agree with you . It really is a unique song . What an imaginative lyric with a bitter sweet tune. Lynn Anderson was one of the greatest ever country stars and as far as I'm concerned she had the best voice of all the lady country singers. I hate it when you see people leaving spiteful comments about her drinking . No doubt she had her struggles, but it is also clear if you watch some of these you tube videos that she had a great heart. She was warm and generous to her public and her colleagues.
+Tenortalker Nice words about this great lady. As "Country Weekly" wrote, she was probably country music's first female superstar (early 70s) .... b/c she went beyond just the realm of country music. She appealed to folks across the board. Only people who make spiteful comments about her alcohol addiction struggles in later years, are narrow minded, small, idiots. Nothing more. Her musical legacy is well in tact, despite any personal struggles later in life.

It's a shame about her own admitted alcoholism and poor judgement while she was drinking. It's also a shame how life wears great people down to rock bottom sometimes even "if it is their own fault".
Why did they ALWAYS rush Lynn on these shows... almost every show she sang Rose Garden on over all the years she struggled and couldn’t get the full breadth of her vocals. Sad... This song was always played much, much too fast for Lynn and for the true artistry of the melody. She was always cheated... same with Tammy on Stand by your Man...always played in too high a key all those years. Sad.
Well there you have it folks. Lynn, Glenn, Joe, I’m sorry but you’re gonna have to turn in all your awards for this song. Apparently you got it all wrong.
@@dianecelento4974 Oh no, not at all. Who's the protector and the provider in a normal couple? Who is the one to pamper the other with homes, jewellery, travels, asf (big diamond rings, the world on a silver platter, the moon)? Even when both do generate income, it is the man. ... And this is so even after a divorce! ... And he's the protector to, even with his own life (remember the Titanic?). ... Furthermore, who tends to be prone to the ups and downs the song makes allusion to? ... rainy days and Mondays, and so forth? Females are. Men are emotionally quite stable and happy, at least in my own society they are. Such a song as this could only be written by a man ... and it was!
This song has stood the test of time and gets better every time I listen
I had the biggest crush on her when I was a little boy. I have always thought she was the most beautiful of the country ladies.
Her voice is beautiful…that real country sound..love it. Her hair is gorgeous….she’s gorgeous and I wish she was still here.

Muchos recuerdos de juventud. Gracias Lynn

Even with the sound quality on this version, it's still the best song ever written and performed. My all-time favorite and that's saying a lot.

+Kiko Man Agreed - she just rises above it all with her high performing standards! All the best.
I don't know how these children do this

The first country hit I loved. BTW, I love that outfit. I saw her perform at the Palomino Club in the SFV. What a show. Love, you forever, Lynn

They do not come any better. Lynn and Liz are country music's musical backbone, for sure.

With that voice and beautiful looks and she died????????
It's a shame about her own admitted alcoholism and poor judgement while she was drinking.
It's also a shame how life wears great people down to rock bottom sometimes even "if it is their own fault".
It happens to the best of us too.
Brenda Lee was offered this song and turned it down.
This sounds a lil rushed, still good tho.

Major improvement over the original recording. Lynn actually projects her voice instead of singing quietly and sheepishly.

This song is from MAN to female, not the other way round
Well there you have it folks. Lynn, Glenn, Joe, I’m sorry but you’re gonna have to turn in all your awards for this song. Apparently you got it all wrong.
Can't it go both ways?
