Man you guys are bad ass! I’ve done 18 percent for a short distance and that is killer. I keep thinking your bikes are going to explode with all the torque you are making and all the creaks the bikes are making!
Have you ever seen Duncan St at Douglass? I think that's a crazy steep street. Not sure I saw that among your streets, but it looks impossible even to walk it.
Good question Kevin - I've never had problems with the derailleur, but have broken a spoke at 35% (Nebelhorn, Germany) and cracked my hub and broke a spoke on the 41% stretch above Vallejo-Baker Street (SF)

INSANE!!! Cheers to you guys!
The steepest hill is on Filbert St. (officially). Second street over from Lombard.

No - I think we missed that one! You're talking about between Douglass and Diamond st, right?
It is! Does this look right? Do you happen to have any photos? pjammcycling.com/climb/4156.Duncan-Street
We will check that one out Rodrigo - thank you for the tip -
hello pjamm, the hills in sf with a bike is pretty hard to ride when the slope is more than 50° hills. thanks. echu for lombard turns
Filbert street above Grant street. I walk that for years.
What gearing did you guys have?
oof, that's brutal. I think I'd need a custom below 30 tooth chainring 😄
Did Sam fix the hub creak?
I appreciate your faith in me but that thing was toast! lol
Zipp replaced the wheel for free though. Great brand!
I thought Ripley and 24th were two of the hardest.Ripley due to it's length and 24th for the cobblestones
How does your derailleur not snap?!?
We're not sure, but our hub did! 😭
