I agree with the above comment. I am struggling with various issues after every update. Rather than adding new features with every update, they should make the current version more usable. I stopped using the app because of these issues.
Hello, I’m very new and after watching various videos I still feel somewhat confused. I’m sure absolute beginners like me would benefit from a video that starts at the very beginning and explains in detail the steps to setting up.
StellarMate has some issues and concerns for sure! It is NOT user friendly! If StellarMate wants to compete in this space it will have to be a more user friendly product. Many online reviews give it a thumbs up for hardware but, a thumbs down for usability. It has great potential to be a top notch product but unless Stellarmate corrects the issues most complain about it will not be able to compete in this space.
I dont think I fully agree. It is not a beginners piece of hardware/software. It is an excellent solution for multi-vendor support, and has a very large foot print in the imaging arena. The latest app makes it much easier to use then before, and that is even mentioned in the podcast.
@@ontariotelescope If you check around, you find numerous gripes about the user interface. It is a perfect solution for Astro's needs, but it's let down with the UI in a big way. For example, the icon to autofocus is a magnifying glass, which on ANY UI I have used is for a search function. Another point is the symbol for guiding and polar aligning. Neither is intuitive, and a simple icon with PA, and Guide would be better. Instead we get a compass needle for guiding? Now, wouldn't that be a better symbol for polar aligning? A bull's eye for polar aligning? It's little things like that kill a product. Even the gear setup and imaging train are awkward. If we take a look at an ASIAIR, and compare interfaces, it's night and day. Or even NINA. I've had one for months and yet to take an image, the problem I had was a corruption in the firmware, which I recently got fixed, and hopefully will take an image with it. It has enormous potential, but it's interface lets it down.
