As far as early Soundgarden goes this is awesome. I just wished they added Nothing to Say to this.

Awesome live act, I had the pleasure of seeing them play 2 nights in a row in the 90s in Auckland, NZ at the Powerstation then at the Big Day Out the next day. The cool thing going to concerts back then, No annoying people holding up their phones

Been years since i watched this, but seeing it now reminds me of what was so captivating about this music over 30 years ago. Just a fantastic band. And what a document. Had the term "grunge" even been coined yet? 😂

One of the most naturally gifted musicians of all time, hands down. Sending shivers down my spine just to listen to his voice. And just look at him! He was a gift himself, tbh.

No doubt. And I can’t believe I didn’t know he started out as their drummer until recently. And he was a great drummer!

Dude was built like a rock god. Good looks, killer voice, and range that blew every other vocalist aside from Layne Staley out of the water.

Soundgarden was heavy and dark at the time. Their later works are good but their early doomy style is better.

They became a bit more polished on later releases which I think earned them the mainstream appeal. I’ve always loved the early stuff like Louder Than Love & Ultramega OK. They have always been one of my favorite groups and I’m almost 24 now.

Agreed, blufang0. Love the performance, but his editing seems to fall into that way-too-prevalent mentality where editors decide to cram in as many shot changes of as chaotic a nature as humanly possible, as if to simply prove that they can. It's annoying to me, because it gives the impression that they view showing off as more important than the subject matter they're working with. In this case, I wonder if some of that was to compensate for unusable footage- like where you see Kim playing two different guitars on the same song within seconds of each other. If so, that's understandable, but the constant camera angle changes and super-shaky camera work (or camera work that was made to look shaky after the fact) are just pointless and annoying as hell in my opinion.

Opinions aside - Nirvana was signed to A&M thanks to Soundgarden. Chris was a big advocate for them before they were big. All those guys looked up to SG 😎
