The best cover of Dionysus and it can't get any better. They did a great job. This song suits Stray Kids well, Jisung's voice is PERFECT for singing J-Hope's lines. They also showed respect to BTS by leaving 7 chairs instead of 8 and did not sing Suga's lines, believing that only he has the right to sing them, since they mean a lot to him.

Having 7 chairs, same lyrics, & similar formation with the original might just be for convenience bcs this is just a cover, not a remake. Not doing SUGA's part might be for convenience as well. The duration is probably limited and they had to practice a lot for only 1 stage. Just like most song/dance covers, shorter than the original. I've never seen BTS talked deeply about Dionysus, but if you want to consider the rap meaning as a reason: I assume SUGA's verse felt more personal bcs he rap about how BTS were belittled by hiphop community bcs they are IDOLS. Some thought they won't make good hiphop music; idols music is different. Yes, rapper idols existed back then but their genre is still considered pop. So, SUGA's Dionysus rap somewhat saying that "Right, we debuted as idols, but what now? We make songs in any genre and we're successful." Kind of on similar vibe with BTS 2018 song IDOL, "They call me artist, they call me idol." But if the rap lyric were the main issue, I think of course SKZ can write their own, which is common practice in other song covers. So, it's because of the duration.

Dionysus is an incredibly hard song to perform, and i believed that no one but BTS could sing it with perfection, but Stray Kids proved me wrong today! I'm an ARMY and I've watched Stray Kids performed live and I'm telling you they're not playing. They did so well! And Stray Kids are one of the best performers out there. Just to mention for those who didn't know Lee Know performed with them before (predebut) and now he's covering their song. That glow up though 👌🏼

Chan said that out of appreciation for their own current team of dancers, and it's good to spread this awareness but let's not go around calling people rude for using the term "backup dancer". The term itself is harmless, in fact if you look back on old interviews Lee Know himself called himself an ex-"backup" dancer for BTS as well. We can start taking away the word "backup" now since Chan brought to our attention that it seems to imply them as being less than the performing artists, but it doesn't mean people who are using the term normally are insensitive. Just hope that people don't get the wrong message that STAYs are too easily triggered (not trying to attack anyone, just speaking in general), to clarify, Lee Know himself is not offended--SKZ wanted to show more appreciation to their performance team and that's the sentiment we want to share.

I just realized after rewatching this that the guy who caught my attention in this coverperformance almost 9months ago is the same guy that caught my attention again last last week (bcs he randomly pop out on any of my socmeds and his HMMM BABY line haha) and got me interested to skz even more. No other than, HAN JISUNG. Yes, the multi-talented human being.
They actually did the stage justice. They kept the keys and vocals where they were and sang the song how it’s supposed to go. They also kept the chairs at 7 out of respect for the number of members. This was very nice to watch. Hats off to Stray Kids.

Let‘s be honest, guys... BTS isn‘t the top group of the world for nothing. They have literally everything: top tier rapper, unique vocals and one of the best dancers of the industry. It is SO hard to cover a BTS song with all the little details they add to bring it to life. But Stray Kids did it... they pulled it off so well. It's usually difficult for any artist to use a rock 'n' roll style since it's not very easy and not common either, but I think these guys did amazing!_
Actually skz has some rock type songs but yeah I think it's not as difficult as dionysus because even Bang Chan (Stray Kids' leader) spent 2 hours to caught up all of the harmonies, ad-lips etc. Anyway thank you for the compliment!

Bang Chan (the leader of Stray Kids) only told us that he spent 2 hours to analyze the whole original song, like the harmonies, adlibs etc. So yeah he really paid attention to details of the song!

Thank you for this information, I decided to stan Stray Kids not so long ago after I've watched some clip of Bang Chan saying we must watch their performance even though they didn't won an award, it hurts me like hell I remember all the hardships faced by BTS during their early time as an idol , so I got curious about Stray Kids and I see their talents and hard-working and I see BTS on them, I'm not trying to compare them because I'm aware that every idols are unique its just that Stray Kids has the same vibes as BTS.
The fact that Lee Know used to be BTS' stage dancer back then, and now he performs their song as a center and main dancer. No words can describe how *proud* I am for him.

bts and song sondeuk have reiterated multiple times that fake love is the most difficult choreo, and it’s important to not that what makes some of bts’ choreos so hard is their intensity + duration. skz did a shortened version of this song, which obviously made it a lot easier on them. it was still SUPER fun, but it’s not that the dance is technically difficult, but more so that it’s exhausting. as you can see, this choreo is more about formations that actual body movement.
They're one of the 'most' genuine all-rounder groups out there. They can all dance, they can all rap, they can all sing, and they all look so stunning. OMG

Having 7 chairs, same lyrics, & similar formation with the original might just be for convenience bcs this is just a cover, not a remake.
Not doing SUGA's part might be for convenience as well. The duration is probably limited and they had to practice a lot for only 1 stage. Just like most song/dance covers, shorter than the original.
I've never seen BTS talked deeply about Dionysus, but if you want to consider the rap meaning as a reason: I assume SUGA's verse felt more personal bcs he rap about how BTS were belittled by hiphop community bcs they are IDOLS. Some thought they won't make good hiphop music; idols music is different. Yes, rapper idols existed back then but their genre is still considered pop.
So, SUGA's Dionysus rap somewhat saying that "Right, we debuted as idols, but what now? We make songs in any genre and we're successful."
Kind of on similar vibe with BTS 2018 song IDOL, "They call me artist, they call me idol."
But if the rap lyric were the main issue, I think of course SKZ can write their own, which is common practice in other song covers. So, it's because of the duration.

Dionysus is an incredibly hard song to perform, and i believed that no one but BTS could sing it with perfection, but Stray Kids proved me wrong today! Let‘s be honest, guys... BTS isn‘t the top group of the world for nothing. They have literally everything: top tier rapper, unique vocals and one of the best dancers of the industry. It is SO hard to cover a BTS song with all the little details they add to bring it to life. But Stray Kids did it... they pulled it off so well. _I'm not a stay but I am an army and I thoroughly loved this performance! It's been a while since bts' last Dionysus performance, and I really love the song, yet Stray Kids covered it perfectly! It's usually difficult for any artist to use a rock 'n' roll style since it's not very easy and not common either, but I think these guys did amazing!_
Actually skz has some rock type songs but yeah I think it's not as difficult as dionysus because even Bang Chan (Stray Kids' leader) spent 2 hours to caught up all of the harmonies, ad-lips etc. Anyway thank you for the compliment!
I'm not a stay too, but damn they did a great job in this performance. Dionysus is a very hard song with the raps, dance, and vocals. I truly admire them doing it so perfectly. 4th gen boy group really is something!

Bang Chan (the leader of Stray Kids) only told us that he spent 2 hours to analyze the whole original song, like the harmonies, adlibs etc. So yeah he really paid attention to details of the song!

They probably chose to cover this song because it talks about "drinking", with choreo using the table, which fits well with their own song they sing afterwards, aka "God's Menu", which talks about "cooking" their tracks with all those frying pans + the dining table. Basically both song associate drinking and cooking with making arts so. 🐣

Stray Kids/스트레이 키즈 is an 8 member South Korean boy group who debuted under JYP Entertainment on March 25th 2018 through a survival show which is also called “Stray Kids”. Their group name says it all, it means they aren’t restricted at all; they can do any genre or concept that goes well with the theme they use. bts and song sondeuk have reiterated multiple times that fake love is the most difficult choreo, and it’s important to not that what makes some of bts’ choreos so hard is their intensity + duration. skz did a shortened version of this song, which obviously made it a lot easier on them. it was still SUPER fun, but it’s not that the dance is technically difficult, but more so that it’s exhausting. as you can see, this choreo is more about formations that actual body movement.
