i need some help here, i followed a toturial where i made a flex sensor using velostat and aluminum foil, and i connected the sensor exactly as you did in this video, and i ran the same code, but i noticed something weird, when it is not bent or when i don't press on the velostat, the readings are ranging 0-150, but when it starts bending, the value goes gradually up until 950 and with a little of pressing i can get it up to 1020, so my question is, how is the value going up ?, shouldn't it decrease?, any help is appreciated.
Is a bending sensor better than an accelerometer for this kind of project? I would also like to put the vibrator along at the same location where the sensor is, so which would be better for that?
if you want to monitor vibration then you can use the accelerometer or the vibration sensor. you can watch my tutorial on the mpu6050 accelerometer module. tell me about your project.
@@ElectroniClinic My project is posture monitoring and correction. My initial idea was to place 2 accelerometers a little higher than the shoulder blades. I'd like it monitor regular posture and also assist with an exercise. I have watched your video of a project similar to what I'm planning on doing, but now I'm not sure if a bending sensor would more suitable than the accelerometers.
watch my tutorial on the distracted driving accidents. in this project, I have used the accelerometer module. after watching this video, then you can decide yourself. the accelerometer is best or the flex sensor for posture monitoring.
Hi, thanks for your video. i want to use this for know if im biting..... i have bruxim, and want to sleep with the mouth very relaxed (not opened). So, i can use this for know when i bite?? i think that maybe yes, when my chin goes up maybe the sensor bend a little and register that. What do you think or will be your approach?? Thanks for your time, and sorry for the long comment. (i dont speak english)
@@ElectroniClinic is there anyway that once you bend the flex sensors, the message will appear in the LCD screen? Do you have a tutorial for that or atleast tell me here?
Last code isn't correct Correct code int flexs = A0; int data = 0; int led = 13; void setup () { Serial.begin(9600); pinMode(flexs, INPUT); pinMode(led, OUTPUT); } void loop () { data = analogRead(flexs); Serial.println(data); if (data
Flex sensor is nothing but a variable resistor. You have to follow the same circuit if you want to use it. You can watch my video on Human posture monitoring in which i used the same Flex sensor. You will get the idea how to use this sensor in real projects.
Thanks, I will now build a mech with this information.
this is too good .explaination level
The best video out there, thank you!
Nice Video
Thanks it's a great video
But what does this range displaying on monitor means? Is it a voltage or resisor values?
What's the Minimum angle that the response obtained from the sensor.?
please help me. i have problem in running flex sensor arduino program, how to read number or data in serial monitor for degree
ya sure, i am here to help you Tell me, what exactly you wana make?
The serial output of my flex sensor is shown as 0. after severe bending it's showing 1 2 is the problem with my sensor? Or wt's wrong with it?
i am also facing same problem
I'm getting output values 0 s and 1s and 2s is my flex sensor not working

Use the Flex sensor. this sensor is specially designed for surfaces. you can easily use this sensor with jackets etc.

It is a great video, thanks for your kind effort.
Could you tell me the crystal frequency used in the arduino board in this video?
Its usually 16Mhz
Thank you so much sir
you are welcome. feel free to contact, if you have any questions.
Nice video & good explanation..
Do you have any idea about how it can be used for knee angle measrement?
watch my tutorial on human posture monitoring that will help you.. in that video i am measuring the bend in human back.
good!
Hi please, tell me what is the purpose of this? Should i do this before making any project with flex sensors???
I heard, that you should use a Resistor which has the same resistance as your max. bend Flex Sensor. Is that somewhat correct?
Is flex sensors give results in degree ......i want to calculate the structure bending and deflection
do you have to use a resistor? It is 100% neccesary? Is there any way to not use a resistor?
Thanks
How do you insert messages so once you flex the sensors the message will appear in the LCD
it's simple. watch my tutorial on 16x2 LCD. then only using the lcd.print() function you can print the value.

what if we need to imterface more flexes.
Yes you can. U have many analog pins
Copy the code and change pin numbers and variables
how can we know the bend angle of the flex sensor
sir your voice is so scary.. I'm sry to say this..
thx for the video
ya, you are right. when I watch my previous videos I feel the same. ;)
Do I need a resistor?
Yes u will need this resistor.
It makes the voltage divider circuit.
is it possible to put an rgb led on it and change color the more you bend?
yes, it is possible.
How to change buzzer to vibrator motor
watch my video on vibration motor

Correct code
int flexs = A0; int data = 0; int led = 13; void setup () { Serial.begin(9600); pinMode(flexs, INPUT); pinMode(led, OUTPUT); } void loop () { data = analogRead(flexs); Serial.println(data); if (data
Why it is only used 200
200 what?
Can you please send me the circuit diagram and Arduino code
its in the article. check link in the description.
