Absolutely classic nostalgia stuff, the soundtrack to my youth! Started with Doncaster Warehouse as the first club night (Rotterdam Termination Source night!), Dance Planet in St Austell as my first big rave, then Death Row Techno, Fusion, Club Kinetic, Vibealite, Steam, Diehard, Rez, Dreamscape, Helter Skelter.... Standard was Producer b2b Scorpio, Clarkee, MZone, maybe HMS & Loftgroover, maybe Mark EG, with Ribbz hosting - definitive selectors!! I only went to one Steam but it was The Really Nasty Night shown at 1:07:24 , HMS, Nasenbluten, Mark N - MUSIC TO MAKE YOUR EYES BLEED. Classic stuff :D Was driving back to Nottingham after that and picked up a pissed up hitcher on the A55 in the middle of nowhere, his mates had left him abandoned after a bender, I saved the guys life - stumbling along blind drunk at 3am on a freezing December night, he would have been in the shit. Bloody great that the scene and music is still going strong even as the numbers of punters fluctuate. I still love it.
Lovely to hear you boys talking about THAT set at Universe. I started going raving in 1993 and that tape was already legendary at that time. Thanks for the memories.
Great watch/listen. For me all involved were brilliant and great nods to Easygroove the technodread. But am surprised no one mentioned Joey Beltrams set at Galatctia 92 where he nails the a hardcore techno set early doors.
So Lets look at the British music scene. What led to the death of techno and happy hardcore is the rise of U.K grime. Back in the days when I was raving, Drum n Bass was always in one of the main arenas along with a separate main arena for happy hardcore and a smaller separate arena for Techno. But the rave scene has completely changed. Because of the U.K grime scene, the entire focus is on the mcs. Check out Stormzy at Glastonbury. He was the headline act. Most Glastonbury acts now are grime artists with pop and rock artists fading into the background. Same thing with radio. Most of the acts played on the U.K radio stations are grime artists. U.K Grime killed the Techno and happy hardcore scene. The only people who listen to happy hardcore are the Scottish. Scousers are more into U.K grime. So are Brummies. The Mancs are more neutral when it comes to music. The true test of whats really happening in the British music scene is look at what kids on council estates up and down Britain are listening to. London, Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, etc. As for Drum n bass, it still has a following on council estates - but nowhere near as much as in the 1990's Trust me, I know the British rave scene inside out aswell as the overall British music scene. The young kids on council estates are the benchmark for measuring the British music scene. Grime is what most kids on council estates are listening to. The days of Indie rock music from the 1990's are long gone. Sad, but true.

I prefer the mic high as I can hardly hear 👂
Shit am six months late to the party 🎉
awesome stuff, gutted I could not tune in yesterday, the footy took priority. So many memories. fb gabberofthe90s
What happened to mc squidgy b
Producers mic was way too loud
Yes - he had a compressor turned on for the first 50 mins and didnt realise. That plus him being very excitable and moving toward the mic didnt help.
Producer even tried to swerve scorpio with a white label on 1st meeting🤣
