Pete’s guitar tone is always spot on! He’s always using just the right amount of any effect. Never too much, never too little. Perpetually in the pocket.
I went to the U of Oregon to play football, and I found this band and fell in love. I used to listen to ‘Be-in’ every time i got back to the dorm. I still love this band, want to thank them for all the fun songs and vibes over the years. So many rad songs… glad you played ‘hard on for Jesus’ such a trippy desert 🌵 mystical experience. This is the tide, is my all time favorite
galesx95 gear don't make the band, the players do. I'm sure they would just just as good with a basic set up. It's not the guitar the drum set or the girls awesome keyboard setup. It's the passion. They'd have the same amazing vibe busking I'd bet. It's so simple which is why I love it so much. Courtney courtney sure looks different but he's finally starting to look a bit older but barely. what a n amazing band so much passion and drive even in the slow lead ups. FUCK I'd kill to have them play a local party.
Courtney's answer to wanting to make original music outside of any specific time bubble, or fad was brilliant , all music makers of any genre should take note - it's the difference between temporary tunes and music that inspires others to create long after the band has gone
Courtney is always playing dope guitars, in this case the Fender Coranado which is probably 1967. So jelly, that tone is amazing, what a great band and I DIG that they are still rolling along...
So many kiddos talking shit about things they know nothing of. This band has such a HUGE live sound, from back in the day until now. Go see them live and in person, then get back to us.
You're not wrong about them, but why the hell are you talking like that? Lose the attitude about it, when no one is getting all angsty, needing you to jump in and defend them.
Great band, what musical maturity! I've been following this band for years.. Pure quality! Planning go to Austin, Tx to see them live ... coming up September 28!
I love this band. Trippy as hell. They've got that hippie vibe from the 60's with a modern twist. I gotta say their lead singer in this video sounds and looks like he's done some drugs in his day. I'm sure they all party but that guy looks like he goes the hardest
@@MidwestFarmToys very true but creatively everything has just about been done now so everything these days is usually groups covering an old song /style trying to improve what was already good the only new group that I think is still creating new music and style even thouh i hear alot of influence in thier music is a group called King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
The opening track, Styggo, is why I bought this album on pre-order, and it's a very pleasant surprise to see that Courtney does those great sounding vocals without mic effects (at least ones I can tell). It sounds somewhat Autumn Carnival from the last album, and since that song is beyond epic, that's nothing but a good thing.
The one thing I love about *KEXP* the most! They know the right musicians and right times to bring someone up in the show. *Dandy*'s are one of my favorite band, I was so excited by watching the high quality performance, interesting dialogues and the story the man reminded to Courtney, I almost fucking cried, lol. That means a lot for artists when you remember something like this and how much it really means to somebody, although Courtney might didn't remember it. Thank you so much, again, for sharing this to us! Btw, _Distortland_ was very important album for them, and it succeeded, I guess.
Val Gonzalez lol how about you write something even 1/10 as good as the Dandys and then maybe I'll actually take you seriously. Lol your like the fat balding dad in the Bleachers at a hockey game yelling "even I could have made that shot" LOL you good get outta here
They get to Perth every 2 years, had the VIP catch up, (seen them 3 times) looking forward to the next. Oh yes Warrick will get back stage again to catch up!! They know.
+Norm Spups Entertainment - I had to reverse the video..."Holy sh*t, is that ERIC???" I didn't know he was playing with DW again, and by looking at his FB page, this isn't a new thing...is he back in the band?
i've been tired of my music library lately and couldn't be bothered listening to new stuff as most things don't seem to grab me by the balls anymore. i've known the name of this band and bohemian like you for fuckin years but never gave them a chance, cause i thought it was probably just you're average noise rock kind of thing from way back when. but damn, i'm really diggin it a lot, and i've only listened to the 97 and 00 album while takin a (long, yes) shower on a friday night. beautiful stuff.
Yesterday concert in Reims was amazing while sound could have been better. The singer said the band was happy to be again in Champagne region and that he had the notorious beverage at every meal... not to mention a funny smoking refill at mid concert. The performance was of very decent quality with contagious good vibes and a perceivable harmony among the band partners. Most of their famous titles were nicely played before a crowd that was already under the charm but somehow some less popular songs were even more powerful. It sometimes really turned into a powerful hypnotic trance like when the stage turned entirely red under the light show (BTW does someone know the name of this song?) and a couple of others afterwards. Would have love to follow the invitation of the nice keyboard lady at the end of the show (with no encore…) asking the public to come over and share a few drinks of Champagne at the bar with the rest of the crew but unfortunately I had to run. Definitely one of my favorite bands!! Now I want to see you guys playing at home in the US but please don't forget to come back to France...
Courtney seems high, hungover, tired, or all 3. But then he had a really cool answer about the changes in the industry, after that awkward pause. They sounded fantastic too. Great to see Eric with them. Too funny that the DJ used to live with Megan etc.
LOL don't even sound a like if anything Killers read my mind is hugely a U2 track which is not surprising as Mark Ellis AKA Flood co produced and anyway thats like saying Oasis ripped of the Beatles LOL!
He Lives in Melbourne with his missus - he actually does travel a lot when they are touring, but he's obviously not going to fly there for a radio station appearance.
Pete’s guitar tone is always spot on! He’s always using just the right amount of any effect. Never too much, never too little. Perpetually in the pocket.

Eric Hedford back on drums. The original Dandys lineup. Nothing could be better!
They haven’t changed, still on top of their craft. Awesome.
just discovered the Dandy Warhols and I cant stop listening to them , they play a real good melodic sound of pure music , what a treasure find.
be able to stop!
Best band ever!
I think they are interesting and I too just found them too. Gonna catchup with them anyways.
I just found them in what’s left of 2020
This is extremely impressive. Anyone who has ever played in a band knows how difficult it is to sound this good live.
look at their gear though, they are top notch and also pretty expensive haha
They play live, but it's re-mixed after in studio. As for every Kexp live, it's a "studio live".
galesx95 gear don't make the band, the players do. I'm sure they would just just as good with a basic set up. It's not the guitar the drum set or the girls awesome keyboard setup. It's the passion. Curtis Carpenter true but I'm just pointing that out, if you play good then you would be even better with quality gear
Curtis your comments are on point about the dandy warhols. 👍🏾
def one of the most underrated bands ever... stoner rock
Courtney's answer to wanting to make original music outside of any specific time bubble, or fad was brilliant , all music makers of any genre should take note - it's the difference between temporary tunes and music that inspires others to create long after the band has gone
2024 and they still sound awesome!!!!!
0:00 - STYGGO
4:24 - You Are Killing Me
16:43 - Search Party
20:05 - Hard On For Jesus
Unneeded. Don't waste your time with that garbage.
@@aceldamia9114 What are you talking about?
kaalmansur that's a bit much
Thank you 😊
Courtney is always playing dope guitars, in this case the Fender Coranado which is probably 1967. So jelly, that tone is amazing, what a great band and I DIG that they are still rolling along...
quarter of a century later... still love the the DW's music!!!
Fine, I admit it, the Dandy's are my favorite band ever!
Mateo808 ,are they still?
Poor boy...
@@mofettemopete3372 That's a Devil Creeks song.
Super. Reminds in lots of ways 60´s psychedelic openness and still a very modern band. 4 creative souls & top artists. Love it ;)
So many kiddos talking shit about things they know nothing of. This band has such a HUGE live sound, from back in the day until now. Go see them live and in person, then get back to us.
Exactly,I've seen them 8 times,9 times this October. My fav band and fav band live.
You're not wrong about them, but why the hell are you talking like that? Lose the attitude about it, when no one is getting all angsty, needing you to jump in and defend them.
Are you kidding me? I was a fan from album one but this absolutely sucks. Call it a day, already.
Great band, what musical maturity!
I've been following this band for years..
Pure quality!
Planning go to Austin, Tx to see them live ... coming up September 28!
any one besides me watching in july 2020?
Yo.
And August, September and ............ forever
o/
Nope.
No. October.
I love this band. Trippy as hell. They've got that hippie vibe from the 60's with a modern twist. I gotta say their lead singer in this video sounds and looks like he's done some drugs in his day. I'm sure they all party but that guy looks like he goes the hardest
Trevor Burnett very agree, he rocks though
Trevor Burnett stfu just stfu
Drugs, definitely. Hardest, definitely not.
fucking good/funny reply! )))
One of my very favorite bands! They are so bloody impressive.
Just saw The Dandys in Petaluma and Los Angeles, they like a fine wine...
Going to see them at the Eaton Hills pub in Nth Brisvegas this Saturday - can't WAIT!!!!!
I missed this band 3 times live and was always gutted but this is a great option. Sooo good. Somethings you gotta' get over...
LOVE THIS BAND!!
Excellent performance 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Hey man these guys are the last of the real musical rock creativity end of an era!.
People say that every few years.
Άψογοι, cool και με hangover όπως πάντα! Love Dandys!!
Best little interview in the period of a few min and context being liver I've seen in a long time....felt like an insider THXS!
I saw them in Kansas City...truly amazing show!

Can't wait to see them in France in a couple of weeks. Since DIG with BJM always the same good feeling.
waiting them in Moscow region in city Podolsk
Wow, they sound great live like this, very polished!

First saw them open for Brian Jonestown Massacre at the Crocodile in Seattle in the 90s. And many times since. Such a great band.
Don't stop Dandy's. Don't ever stop.....
Mark Ellis i hope they do cus they suck first song is fucking retarded
Val Gonzalez lol how about you write something even 1/10 as good as the Dandys and then maybe I'll actually take you seriously. Lol your like the fat balding dad in the Bleachers at a hockey game yelling "even I could have made that shot" LOL you good get outta here
You're
i love the dandy
I’m in MA, and just discovered KEXP on the internet. I wished I’d known about this when it happened.
Oh man this crew is sooooooo good......!
Great Band, love that guitar Pete !
Jesus is just a name we all once heard!
Cool! Like seeing the og members.
I thought that was the original drummer.
The more I hear, the more I like!
I don't get why ppl constantly compare them to BJM. Both bands have completely unique sounds and characters... Both are amazing in their own ways! ❤
Both bands hung out in very close circles in the early/mid 90s. It was excellent fun in SF back then. I remember them from Minna st. ❤❤❤
from sweden i am across the ocean so much I love the dandys, only true right band, not bullshiting me about jonestown miracles ok!
Can be hard to find a good quality live version of Hard On 4 JesUs, bless this video and the Dandinhos
Live goals right here....quite possibly the best band out there, of that I'd make no argument, beautiful melody
You Are Killing Me ♥♥♥
Such an amazing band!
Love you guys!! Thank you!!
Long live the Dandies!
"emotional engaging" is what these guys are about ...... play on guys, don't change x
I was just mining in RUclips and I found this diamond!
Keep mining!
DJ - "I'm just barely hanging on today."
D.W. - "Bitch we actually had to *play* that show last night. Lol"
They get to Perth every 2 years, had the VIP catch up, (seen them 3 times) looking forward to the next. Oh yes Warrick will get back stage again to catch up!! They know.
I really like this live version of Search!
their live versions are always better
They have always been freaking awesome! Wait, is that the original drummer?
Yes.
so amazing
Killer set!
STYGGO is such an underrated song.
Sounds a hundred times better than the other session. Nice to see Eric again too!
+Norm Spups Entertainment - I had to reverse the video..."Holy sh*t, is that ERIC???" I didn't know he was playing with DW again, and by looking at his FB page, this isn't a new thing...is he back in the band?
+Wayn Ledbetter he helps out when Fathead is unavailable.
Last i saw him was in Dig!, glad to see they patched that all up
The bass player is so melodic!
I love all you guys sitting in a bar in pasadena. Ca. Smoking a new strain drinking beer. A free beer on the house rite now. Hehehe. Zookies 2017.
i forgot to say mis amigos...💚😎👍😛
Pussy cat finger tips im trying to be on my best behaviour.....zzzzzzz
STYGGO is catchy as fuck.. simple & brilliant
Wunderbar!!!
This is my kind of music. My style for sure
They're stoned out of their minds! 😂😌😌☺ But playing amazingly!!!
Zia had to pee midset after the moldy peaches opened in Hoboken . Wow great news hope to see them again love you all Dandy Warhols!
Thanx for that!

Remember that time you bought me drinks? That was awesome.
Great they are!
woops! I fell into a mental music practice session
Wow! Luv this!
Great music 😀
Brilliant!
que buena banda para laburar, me concentro en lo mio con melodias de rock que se clavan en el subconciente,,aguante los dandy..
Didn't know the songs, sounded really good though.
Courtney has animorphed into middle age Sebastian Bach.
dude looks like a junkie
Some performance this is✌️
A great morning after performance
HOW WAS THIS MY FIRST TIME REALISING WHAT STYGGO STANDS FOR!?
Great points about music as marketing. That's why top40 bothers me. So many people are just making music to further their band.
Josh G
edit: line their pockets
Very very good

Troy, you really F'd up the beginning of that interview lol. Great concert though!
second track had a clear rip from that killers song read my mind
Good call. A lifeless, shitty rip at that.

azil brown that was the first thing I said to myself .. where is fathead!?
@SeanByrne42 He has his own project down there. Immigrant Union. I saw them live in Adelaide a few years ago. They were great.
He Lives in Melbourne with his missus - he actually does travel a lot when they are touring, but he's obviously not going to fly there for a radio station appearance.
OMG I haven't seen them since 2003....
Fucking ads in the middle of a song?
Genius!
"We've got a Fuzzbox and we are going to use it!"
Seen them..
this is great
Brividi....stupendi !!!!
Zia was baaaked! :-D
