I loved Groundhog Day. One of the things I really respected was that Danny Rubin basically rewrote much of the original screenplay so the character of Phil in the musical isn't saying the same lines as in the original movie. If he had been lazy, he could have done that. But then we would have been comparing Andy Karl's delivery of the lines to Bill Murray's delivery of the same lines.

I loved how they kept a few lines the same, but changed the punchline ('not today' to 'not on my watch!' for example, in the scene with the homeless man.)
