Thank you so much for uploading this video! I made this map when I was in high school (I was 16 or 17), it was a project I undertook during the summer. It's still one of my favorite programming achievements since I dabbled with so many advanced CS concepts and at the time it was at the edge of what was possible with the WC3 editor. It sparked my interest in computer science and today today I'm 25 and work at Facebook. I stumbled across this on accident and it gave me so much nostalgia -- I can't believe people are playing it! So cool to watch you playing it and reading through these comments.

Save system is OK.
You have to keep in mind that it has to save all 6 of your items and their levels.
Plus, it even has "-check" mechanic (actually thanks fo that to the author) so you can be sure that you saved it correctly.
WTii used it and had no real problems. If all other players would have used it as well, there would be no delay and wait for those lazies at all.
You just have to copy/screenshot/write down code when you get it. On the screen, different kind of symbols (letters lowercase/uppercase, numbers, special symbols) have different colors. So, it is far easier to distinguish 1/I/l, and 0/O.
I have played maps with even longer codes, and I saw people messing around with those to "cheat" themselves better stats (!).
So, IMHO, this one isn't that hard to do.
That's funny about people cheating themselves better stats, gotta break that code!

Well, map I played was called "Natural Selection".
It is about creatures spreading around the map by themselves, with an ability to control packs of them if you want, and selectively breed them.
The thing is, codes there were "open-sourced", or something.
I mean, it wasn't tied to person's nickname (like some RPGs do), or to be "only multiplayer" (yes, you could create creatures offline and then unleash them on other players online).
Plus, each section of the code affected exact different things. First 2-4 sections (between "-" symbols) affected species, size, color, ration, and behavior. Then were abilities and their level.
That is because of a definition of the map - each individual creature has it's own "save code" = genome, which gets combined and little bit randomized with each generation (when they mate and breed).
Would be impossible to have such randomized variety working with more "protected" codes.
So - yeah, in one of the matches I played, people were (successfully) trying to change certain letters in the code to give them something different. By example, once they figured out which letter changes Size, they could try different letters there.
Same with skills - change 1 letter, and get a new ability, or upgrade existing one.
RPGs like this one you played usually are another thing. Here code could be deliberately "protected" - means, changing a level of one item would be changing the whole code. Cryptography of some sort :)
Same goes for more "competitive" maps - like MineralZ (i think you played that one), because of Points mechanic that allows players to buy a different kind of things depending on how well they have played all the matches before.
So, if you have a couple of free minutes, you may try to mess around with that. I think it may work, cause it seems like one of the players in your session actually typed Z instead of z, and got something unexpected.

It's easily the best dungeon crawler out there made for Warcraft 3. You can solo it, but it's sort of difficult (you'll want a summon for some of the puzzles).

It is generally very similar to this, but a bit more polished, and more complex (don't go at it blind). Another good thing I remember about it is that when you -save it creates a text file with your code so you don't have to hunt it down..

how are maps still not hiding command buttons? To be fair, it probably hasn't been updated in awhile. Still though, in my map, the command card is so much cleaner. Top Row is Attack, Stop, Invis Ability, Learn Skill.
How do you switch between 1.26 for w3arena and 1.28 for bnet? wc3switcher only goes between 1.26 and 1.27 and whenever i try to download 1.28 from 1.27, it gives me an error. anyone know a fix?
Schnappi error for updating 1.28 can be solved by running as admin.

pls i want some help: I updated wc3 to 1.28 and when i openned battle.net to play some games with others it epeared this error: Unable to validate game version. Can anyone help me?
Update back to 1.27 worked for me.
Why does every warcraft 3 custom game have 50 character save codes. Is it the only way to save the data? Same problem of remembering them happened in the 2 playere campaigns.
