I don't know much about Marshmello or his music but the dance music I've listened to and been a part of since the early 90s has definitely had a culture. If he makes pop dance music then yeah I guess they don't have much of a culture but the DnB, breaks, trance, and house scenes have huge deep cultures that have been strong for decades.
