  • Hello Friends!
    In this video I’ll be unboxing my new GEWA Pure violin shaped case. I have an older model GEWA violin case and a Jakob Winter case which I’ll also compare and decide which is the best violin case for me!
    As a professional musician I travel a lot with my Guadagnini violin. I loved my super light Jakob Winter violin case but always felt a little worried about it’s strength and security when traveling around with it. My old GEWA violin case served me very well for a while. It has more space for stuff and music, however that also made it very heavy. Now I will have a GEWA Pure violin case (thanks to my mom!) and I think I’ll enjoy using it a lot!
    Hope you enjoy this little violin case unboxing video!

    Awesome!! I got the grey Oblong one yesterday. Then as I was putting everything in it I noticed my violin was coming apart under the tailpiece. Taking it today for repair. I've not had luck with violins. Lost my first one last month in a flood...lol

    Hi , have you checked BAM cases by chance? What made you prefer Gewa over BAM ( or other brands in that case)? I’m looking for a case now and would really appreciate your view on it.

      Hi! I'm sorry, I can't give you much info on the BAM cases since I've never used one personally. Generally Weight and Protection are the first two things that I look for when searching for a case as I travel a lot and have a very valuable instrument which I need to protect properly. If you can I would advise going to a violin or music shop to try the cases they have there of different brands and see what feels right to you. I can tell you that I definitely have friends who love the BAM cases as well. If I ever end up having one myself I'll definitely compare the two brands in a video :D - Hope that helps!

      BAM stylus is good but it is on heavy side. Also i found Petz H95-B violin case to be better ratio protection/weight. Cheers

    Is the PURE case allowable to go aboard as a carry-on goods when we fly? Actually, I always use the BAM CABIN case when I fly, but if the PURE can be as a carry-on, it’ll be wonderful!

      Hi! I believe the tiny BAM cabin case is the only one that officially fits within the measurements. That is always the safest option, however I always take my gewa case on the plane without any problems (but I don’t fly Ryanair as I would have to buy two seats…) hope that helps!

    Hi, which would you say protects better against rain?

    • @AMARINS

      Hi! Thanks for asking. Generally I haven't had any problems with the violin getting wet. I live in the UK and am from The Netherlands so I'm generally in pretty rainy areas. I have to say though that with the Jakob Winter Case, weather in general was a reason that I changed to the Gewa case. Sometimes it didn't feel like the Winter case closed completely flush and I was also slightly worried about temperature exposures. That being said though, I had a Guadagnini Violin in that case for a while and it was completely fine. Hope that helps!

      @@AMARINS THANK YOU! Because i am wondering whether its worth buying it or not or go with the BAM case which is cheaper in the UK

    A bit gobsmacked by how much cases cost. And more so that your loaner masterpiece instrument doesnt come with a case you’re required to use. Was this all before you won a new case at ARD?

    • @AMARINS
      @AMARINS  Год назад +1

      Hi! Yes, there are cheaper and more expensive cases of course, the ones we won at the ARD are of course great but a little on the heavy side. We often have to choose between price vs weight vs quality. The best is of course light and sturdy to protect the case but those tend to be the most expensive….

      Thanks for your comment. I haven’t heard of your brand, are your violin cases new? I understand that my channel is quite small but if you wanted to send me a case, I’d be happy to do a video comparing my different cases and include it.
