People have been saying for years that Teslas are "smartphones with wheels" which has led me to ponder the question: "which specific apps would work better in a tesla than on a smartphone?" The answer that always came up was anything related to buying food, groceries or anything else that you are about to pick up, because the smartphone with wheels has an even better handle on your ETA to the store than your phone does. So seeing the food ordering process be integrated on the tesla screen is awesome!

All Chinese EV makers that sell EV below $25k are gross profit negative and would go BK without the government's support. It shouldn't matter, he earned it by accomplishing the goals set for him back in 2018 and should be paid based on those contract goals. I'm betting my entire retirement on Tesla and I am now upsidedown on my Tesla stock investment but I still want contracts to be honored. I'd also prefer Elon get what he wants since he's the one who made everything happen over the past 6 years. I'd like for his vision to guide the company for the next 6 years. I think all stockholders will benefit if he stays on. I'm not selling no matter what. Would existing customers want to disassociate themselves and be less likely to do word-of-mouth promotion for you?
Maybe it would be reasonable for shareholders to start to doubt if you’re the best representative for the company? Particularly if you rarely show up to work, and the leadership team has become hollowed out under your watch?

I agree that Robotaxi needs to be pushed out. The software isn't ready, and what we all want is a car we can afford. Most of us couldn't care less about FSD and Robotaxis. We just want to buy an affordable EV for our own use. The only thing that Elon being out of the picture would change, would be Robotaxi versus Model 2. It's a no brainer to make the Model 2. That's where the worldwide demand is.

And many of those with millions of shares want Elon out as majority influence. Some probably want Tesla dismantled in favor of other investments that compete with Tesla. Sabotage from within. Its not a crazy idea and it’s certainly not something that hasn’t happened before to other companies.

How is the semi not done before and Daimler/ Scania and others are already selling electric semi ?

    •  21 день назад

Tesla's semi is far more ambitious in range than those other electric semis. Tesla's can be driven 500 miles on a charge, while everything else struggles to reach 300. That makes Tesla suitable for a lot more use cases. Tesla could build a shorter range version by swapping in a battery other than the one made with their 4680 cells, but has chosen thus far not to compromise the product in that way. And they can't make enough of those 4680s.

    • @RamiRouhana

They know company needs him and stock will crash if he leaves. (apple Jobs precedent) They would finally get the mother of all short plays If Elon Leaves company, he will sell his shares and space x or a new company will be hiring AI and Robotics personnel. Most of the high level talent required for tesla to innovate the way it does will follow Elon as will applications for jobs from new talent.

    • @tHebUm18

I doubt the stock would do well without him--seems like a first step towards shifting the company towards becoming a lukewarm auto stock in line with industry PE of 8-10 and possibly killing off all non-currently profitable ventures. Could totally see it dropping to $40 or lower without Elon at the helm.
Would be interesting to see who they'd tap for CEO if not Elon--and if they'd try to retain Elon as his technoking role since he has said he doesn't really want to be CEO anyway. But decent chance I'd start looking at an exit strategy if Elon is axed/forced out because Tesla constantly having a long term vision is precisely why I believe over the long term it'll dramatically outperform the index--while other execs are making moronic decisions to maximize the next quarter, Tesla is winning primarily because they make decisions to maximize the next 5-10 years to have a structural advantage.

Blackrock manages the US government 401ks (including the military's TSP [Thrift Savings Plan]). Even in *DOWN* markets/years, my TSP often has a positive return, because the market moves with Blackrock's obscenely large purchases (along with the fact that the TSP has an unheard of low management fee of just 0.055%). I think I've had a grand total of two negative years in the past decade and a half, and one of those was like, -0.01%, so basically break-even.
