Thanks for another great review John! These are amazing headphones, I have been enjoying listening to them over recent weeks. A significant upgrade over B&O's previous H95 and amongst the best headphones I have ever heard. Maybe the B&O app is telling you to ditch Android and become an Apple user? ;-)

I've enjoyed my time with the H100, they are lovely. My wife still has H95 that I use occasionally at home or on a flight. I'm not sad to be going back to the trusty DALI IO-12 and B&W Px8 for day to day use. - John
Yep...lets be happy to ditch android for iOs...who wants to be able to use their headphones at 99% of their abilities on android when we can use them at 60% with an iPhone.
Apple OS and ecosystem is much better. But u need to have tried it to understand.

Is it a significantly better sound than the 95s I have a 95s and I’m a spoiled brat and I really really think I want to get the 100s but I don’t wanna do it unless it’s like literally gonna blow me out of the water or am I just paying the extra money for the leather handbag lol
As much as I am drooling over the styling of these headphones, I feel it's not meeting a high standard expected of them to release these without supporting hi-res codecs at launch, or including a hard case thats comparable or better to the H95 in addition to a soft case. Excellent review, looking forward to more!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on them! 😊 I’m a bit confused though: I remember your enthusiastic review of the H95 (“they’re fantastic!”, “It’s like having Belolab 90 attached to your head”, “a worthy 95th anniversary product”, “they’d have been worth even an higher retail price”, and so on), and now, while on one hand you say that the H100 represents an improvement over the H95, at the same time you also seem to suggest that they’re not really worth considering, unless one values aesthetics and luxury feeling over other metrics. So, they’re not better (also in term of sound) than the H95 or has your opinion of the H95 changed drastically in the last years?
The more you listen and use alternatives our opinion gets refined. It is easy to go into your dealer and check out headphones. Bring your own music and listen. They only have to satisfy you. Recently I thought about getting one of the models everyone was giving high praise in reviews. One local shop had several of those "high-end" models on display where you can plug them in or use Bluetooth connection. After a while I put back on my ancient headphones are decided they were more than good enough.
They were indeed good at the time for me. I worked back then in a B&O dealership and did for 17 or years. I'd mostly listened to B&O in all that time. Working at Peter Tyson I'm exposed once again to lots of wonderful hifi brands. To be fair, H95 was around £600 or £700 when released if I remember correctly. I can now take into account the competition and the fact the price of H100 in the UK is £1300 at launch.....a massive hike.
So yes my opinion changes over time, I think that's okay, I'll only be honest on my videos, I always have been. That's why I always encourage people to listen for themselves. - John.

Thanks for the review! There have been other "reviews" out there on yt, but this has been the most detailed! Question: Is it true that on some songs, the vocals can sound like they're in front of you rather than inside your head? Is this because of the dolby atmos, or it this even without atmos enabled?

I was surprised about the non-B&O recommendations. Then I noticed John is not on the channel I’m used to him appearing on. Now, everything makes sense! Good to see you, John. Keep up the reviews!… Historically, I generally prefer a more circular-shaped ear cup. That kept me away from the B&W’s originally. I also think the high frequency extension of the B&O’s was better than the B&W’s. It was close though… I look forward to comparing the new/current models of each brand to each other!

Going back to basics... I have a pair of H6 with a cable... so many would agree... that ANYTHING wireless = useless !!
Seriously this is going to have like $1,200 of margins. For something that's going to be in a landfill for a few years I find this to be ridiculous
GUCCI for your ears. I have to say John, a week ago I wouldn't have given them a second look but after your video (whether you like them or not) I'd be interested to give them a demo... so well done!

Do you have headband quality issue? My Px8 McLaren headband leather came off after using it for 3 months 2-3 days a week. My H95 also have same issue but after using it about 1-2 years everyday.
@@KokoroShashinI’ve also owned the Px8 McLaren edition for a year now and have no durability issues as of yet. I’ve taken them on planes, buses, trains and wear them at the office. However, I also heard that the Px7 had this durability issue as well so maybe they didn’t really improve ?

If you say they are an improvement on previous B&O headphones they should sound pretty good. I have the H9i which are excellent.
5* for looking out for family. :) Great review. Even the best sounding headphones in the world are not going to be used if they are uncomfortable. We have to live with them. I do use headphones, particularly when it is late in the evening I I do want to listen louder without disturbing my neighbour in the next street. I'll stick to wired connections which these would do from my desktop or laptop using the USB-C cable.

I feel the concentric-metallic spin pattern on H95 and HX look better than H100 and more B&O. Maybe they need to improve touch sensitivity or wireless connection so they changed it to glass like iPhone?

Великолепные наушники. Главное, что в них нравится, это звук. Звук тут детальный и кристальный. Да, они уступают по посадке bowers & wilkins px7 s2e, что у меня есть в наличии. Однано так же, что ещё не хватает h95, напримере тех же bowers & wilkins px7 s2e, это звук подключения наушников к телефону по bluetooth. Однано это мелочи. Кто то выделяет особый жанр для них. Я скажу, что они вполне отлично, местами даже замечательно передают музыку. Достаточно добавить сюда студийный формат треков. И наслаждению нет предела. Кто то писал что н95 не хватает громкости. По шкале громкости они работают на манер beats studio 3 wireless. В данном случаи мне помог купленный плеер в смартфон
I currently own the H95. H100 is looking really nice xD sadly i spent all my budget on Hifiman HEK Stealth so I’ll stay a little longer on the H95 for traveling lol maybe for christmas

For me it stands between Beoplay H100 and Dali IO-12. I would say H100 looks better than IO-12, but does anyone have tried them both, and have thoughts on comfort and audio from both headphones?
Did you watch to the end? The DALI are not quite as nicely styled but I found them much more comfortable and preferred the hifi sound.
You can tweak the sound in the B&O app to calm the bass down on H100. The DALI has a simple button on the right ear. 2 modes, BASS and HIFI. They are what they say, bass mode sounds a little more like H100 but more detailed. HIFI mode sounds super clean and natural. - John.

I have read a lot of good reviews on this, but also some people are saying that the general sound signature is darker. I prefer listening to acoustic music, and I like the design of PX8, but is the sound signature darker than the IO-12? Sorry for bothering once again, but I appreciate your help.

They should have upgraded their electronics but kept the look.

Very true... such price for a bluetooth headphone is really crossing the line. In their case, it is crossing multiple lines. I am good with my Focal.

Less than ideal codecs and an excessive weight for a gigantic price increase.
Reddit feedback suggests it's a marginal upgrade to the H95 audio wise.
I have the H95 so will try the H100 at a nearby B&O store.

Have had HX for 3 years and still love them, but… battery now drains very quickly, down from 100% to 60% in around 20 minutes. Mine came with the standard hard case but also as a promotion at the time a leather pouch similar to h100’s. Unfortunately it is very difficult to get headphones out of this without scraping the leather headband against the metal zip. I see the new cases unzip further down the sides to alleviate this issue. Tried B&W PX8 in store (have owned earlier PX model), but was surprised that extending the arms to fit over ears resulted in the bottom edges of the earcups lifting away from my face, resulting in imperfect seal. Keeping the HXs for home listening but have bought the Beats (Apple) Studio pros and they are brilliant. Cost £220.00, (on sale) sound great, fold for easy portability and have head-tracking spatial audio.
I want to get the HX to go with my H95 but every HX I have received has a left speaker volume issue. The left speaker has had lower volume on 3 units. Did you run into that issue?
@@domfrancescoHi, no, didn’t have that issue at all. Always thought battery life was less than advertised though. Mine arrived dead and had to be charged before use. Am suspicious of pricing too. The three year old HXs have been randomly increased from £450.00 to £550.00. B&O only seem interested in selling to the very wealthy now.

No hard case, the lows are not separated enough, the headphone ANC is not 100% balanced during telephone calls. I will say so much, this is a fantastic headphone, I love the mids and highs, the built quality however 1500 Euro gross?!? Nope. I see the real price at around 1.000 Euro gross.
Surely the NFC card will direct you to whichever store is associated with whichever platform based on phone type scanning or am I missing something ?
I thought that too, you can see on the video, I scanned a Google Pixel phone and it opened my browser and took me to the Apple App Store. - John

Not really, I didn't listen at full though. On a PC with a cable I had to turn them up more than say the DALI to achieve the same level. From experience the B&O are all similar in terms of volume. Likely limited as to not damage your hearing. - John
@@Peter-Tyson It’s unfortunate to hear they didn’t increase the volume. It was the main reason I didn’t pick up a H95. I really like everything else.
Max volume on H100 has been increased by 8db vs H95.

Hi John, great to see you again. I am glad that you are not forced any longer to say that B&O products are the best. I agree that some of them are really unique, impressive, but not all of B&O devices are worth their price. Despite the huge marketing campaign for H95, I didn't like it when I tried at the shop. It was advertised as the ultimate headphone. If so, how is it possible that the H100 is a significant improvement? Wasn't the H95 already perfect? Of coudse not. I have some much cheaper B&O headphones, one is a 10 years old model and the other one is the relatively recent B&O Portal, and they both sound better than the H95. Thanks for sharing different options/models, I look forward to trying some when I get the chance to find them in a shop.

I have the H95. They were a bit of a disappointment for the price point. This seems like a better option but i wish it was the H95 price point. I feel i got ripped of with the H95s.
Why did you feel you got ripped off? I do have the H95 too nd bought them because of buitl quality and of course the best sound available

Width and height is the same as H95. but H100 is almost 1cm deeper (more space before your ears touch anything)

Build has to be better than ‘very nice’, codecs amiss, they don’t look great or ‘premium’ and way way over priced
