Давно не слышала такой красивый голос! Где -то там, во вселенной он продолжает петь и радовать таким прекрасным голосом живущих на небесах! Мы, земляные, обожаем тебя, Георг!!
We Finns mostly remember Georg Ots by his impeccable performances of dozens of popular songs, also in Finnish. Khankonchak, what you said about his voice is so correct - he simply can't be mistaken for any other singer. And the tone of his voice is so warm, smooth and full, that combined with fine technique... oh la la. We miss you Georg...
One of the finest performances it has been my pleasure to have received. Khan,I shall ever remember this gem when I think of the treasures that you send me. Bravo! TY-my friend.
@khankonchak You say estonian is hardly considered as a musical language. By whom? By You? Estonian is perfect for singing, estonian words have lots of vocals (it "rings" very beautifully) and it is also quite rhythmic. Seems that You don't have an ear for that.. Ots has an amazingly deep and rich voice, love this song and the words!
And, one of his most well-known roles was that of Don Giovanni, which is not exactly a lyric role either. Come to think of it, makes one wonder how he did the "commendatore scene" (I never had the opportunity to see Ots on the stage - I was 10 when he died:)) Besides, Ots was planning to stage the "Don Giovanni", and was actually working on it (and, if I am not very much mistaken, translated some of it himself), but his own Stone Guest came first...

@strauja You say Estonian was once considered the third most musical language. By whom? Your statement also implies that it's not so highly ranked anymore. It's certainly interesting to hear, but in terms of sheer musicality I would place it far behind most Romance languages.

Георг Отс - мой кумир с детских лет. Ах, какой был красивый мужчина, с божественным голосом, прекрасными актерскими данными и глубоким характером.
Wielki mistrz!

Да, красивый голос... Помнится, "Mister X" был очень популярен.
Обожаю с детства и навсегда. Самый красивый на свете баритон - пусть и не самый "большой".)))
This aria will always be special to me, associated with fond memories.

Great singer!
Well, I would say - essentially, but not only, lyric. He made a convincing Iago, too.
