Iconic in the sense of technology. It was the first to really take advantage of electronic aids. It was the start of the technological evolution that makes it iconic.
@@SofaSpud_ it wasn't, the lotus 92t was the first f1 car to race with active suspension in 1983 and the lotus 99t was the first f1 car to win a race with active suspension in 1987 and most other electronic aids like tc, abs, launch control semi automatic gearbox, etc. had been used by many constructors in the mid to late 80s such as Ferrari introduced the semi automatic transmission thanks to buying the services of John Barnard from McLaren. The fw14b and fw15c were the best cars of the active era (which began during the turbo era) but they weren't the first to use most of that technology, only the first to combine it all successfully.
To say it pretty much could drive itself is a little bit disrespectful. I saw recent sky doc and I think it was Peter Windsor who said there probably weren’t many drivers in the world who could get the absolute best out of it. Those reason being you had to be 110% committed and send it into a corner with near blind faith. You have to remember Patrese, a well respected & experienced driver would be out qualified by upto 2 seconds at some circuits. That’s a lot for a car that drives itself
I know what you mean but he more or less did. The FW16 in which Senna was killed was this car but with active suspension and other electronic aids removed. So it's the same car really. Many people believe that's what caused his accident. The car was designed with the suspension and aids so to just remove them made the car somewhat dangerous to drive. Eventually during the season they got it sorted but at the time of Ayrton's death, it was a pig to control.
@@raversdoitwitheeeease5636 "It's the same car really." Sorry but imparting such misinformation as fact shouldn't be unchallenged. The FW15C, on which the FW16 was based, was designed specifically to use active suspension whilst the FW14B was adapted from a car that used pushrod suspension. To have common features doesn't make two things the same - the FW14 used conventional suspension, it didn't have traction control but it wasn't dangerous to drive as you had alluded to. By your rationale, an Aston Martin DB7 is the same car as a Jaguar XJS because they have a common platform.
"a complete guide" and the video is 6 minutes and 1 second long? The title to this video is just a lie. It would take four times as long just to give a basic overview of it's suspension system. It is very rare that I give a video on RUclips a down vote, but the blatant lie in the title easily warrants one this time.
Nigel mansell at that point has entered the final round leading or with a chance at the championship in more seasons than anyone, ever. Only to have, tyre delamination, be crashed into, gearbox failure, etc. Mansell was capable of being 3 or 4 times world champion even against his rivals like prost, senna, piquet. The most beautiful F1 car of all time.
Iconic as a British car and driver. The Newey factor surely adds a million too. Great memories of the British Grand Prix 92 as a teenager.

That livery 💙
So this is Patrese’s car with Mansell’s number on it to boost the sale price?
No, its mansells and then patreses car for the latter part of the season, if you listen.

where do i get the camel decals ?
If they're selling this car it should at least go for $20 million+
well ask Sebastian, he bought it.
Don't sell it, I'm afraid the buyer never use it
Don't know if it's the same car but vettel just bought it so I'd say it's in good hands
Going Off Topic yep, it’s that exact one.
I saw Nigel at London car show
IMO this car was the only and true one Senna Rival :)
Does it really have an automatic transmission and shifting??
I have a horrible feeling that it'll get bought by someone who will put it in storage and never use it.
It's perfectly usable, I saw it driving around at silverstone last year I believe

They should really sell the PC with it.
There's only one PC left, and that is for Williams' own FW14B

why is it that idiots complain about modern electronics but then when they have more tech on an old car its suddenly okay? hypocrites
