You're going to want to have your abs engaged. So you are going to be holding your abs engaged while still maintaining a good breathing pattern. You will be expanding your back and sides when you breathe since your abs will be braced to handle the demand of the exercise.

Core Exercise Solutions tha k you so much. I tighten the pelvic floor/glutes to hold my belly during workout. Realized it’s so wrong. Struggling to change this habit. Thank you so much.

Core Exercise Solutions thanks dr Duvall, checked both the videos. I clench my anus/ glutes most of the time. Is there weakness somewhere else? What area should I strengthen inorder to release the tightening of my anus always ?? It’s like am afraid to release my tight clenching of my glutes.
Will be so helpful if you can enlighten me

@@shrilakshmi4238 Is your pelvic floor tight (I have a video about tight pelvic floor symptoms you can check out)? I also have a video about front pelvic floor contraction you should check out to see if you are able to isolate your contraction. There could be a weakness somewhere causing you to clench and it could be awareness needs to be brought to the clenching so you catch yourself and work on relaxing. Have you seen an in person PT to help you with these issues?

How would you breathe in a plank though cause there's no concentric/eccentric like you show here? In plank, there's just holding a position that requires core but also breathing? I'm still not sure how to brace while breathing? Is it just back/ribs expand while the abs are braced in inhale? Sorry I'm confused!
