I agree with most of these changes but one thing I would want changed is that I think the marriage candidates should look older in chapter six than they do in the current game. At the end of the paper craft trailer Celia looks older than she does in the actual game in chapter six so I think they could change it.
Yeah. The main character looks ooooold but your spouse doesn't, haha. Maybe all those years working on the farm does a toll on your body though, haha. Gustafa and Rock look young forever because they have no responsibilities.
Really miss rival marriage, it bothers me so much that your player is the only one who marries and has kids. It could be cool to see other villagers marry and have kids that interact with your child, like in animal parade.
Yes! This game would be a lot better if there were rival marriages and your child cook interact with the other children! I would love that so much. Imagine play dates with the other families!
I am actually surprised they didn't do this. Before this remake was even announced when I would think about how the game could be improved, that was one of the main things. This would also give your child more people their age besides Hugh and Kate
I think its sad that the realistic features are toned down in this game. Honestly I wanted them to go for more realism such as killing off more of the older characters in the game as it progresses besides just Nina. Now not even your animals can die. I get this is meant for kids but I think these are good lessons that teach them responsibility and to respect life. Even Murrey/Pui has butterflies instead of flies now. I think the game would be a lot better with those features even if it was split into three difficulty levels. Overall I'm excited for the game but those are it's main downsides imo
Hopefully we get some dlc or something to expand some of the features especially dialogue. Maybe include more festivals or special events. Rival marriages would be cool too. I am curious if Nami still leaves the village if you don't marry her.
I want DLC so badly for this game, haha. Also, about Nami, she didn't leave in my save file. She didn't leave in Another Wonderful Life either (and had scenes where she flirts with Cody!). I think Gustafa likes Nami but Nami likes Cody. Or something like that, haha.

I've been wanting rival marriages back for years! And from what I gather, the two biggest issues that caused them to be removed can still be worked around with a little bit of effort. If players are made nervous about the idea of losing access to a marriage candidate because they married someone else, the rival marriages could be locked behind the player's marriage, so that they still exist but don't get in the way. Alternatively, there could just be a toggle during save file creation on whether rival marriages are turned on or off, that way you could just do away with them entirely if you didn't want them. And if the issue is leaving one marriage candidate alone because you married their rival, the Rune Factory 2 approach could always be taken, in which a villager/candidate is designated as a "backup" for the rival of your spouse to marry, which would also allow every rival child to exist regardless of who you married.
Yeah, I really want them to add rival marriages in the next game! I really want the town to show more development than we see in Olive Town. AWL could have been even better with rival marriages.
I had lots of complaints about Poot but now that i think about it, their idea about the museum and the collectables you get doing things like mining or taking photos really adds in to the game, when those aspects are missing there isn't much else to do and the game feels shorter 😅
One of my next videos is comparing the three story of seasons games on the Switch! It’s funny, they’re all so different! It’s kind of weird that AWL has the problems that it does, because PoOT and FoMT are both brimming with content (maybe some would say, too much?). I just don’t know why to this day PoOT still doesn’t have an auto sort button (AWL does, but honestly doesn’t even need it as badly as PoOT does).
@@elithegaymer It's really funny how Marvelous does their Story of Seasons so differently from each other, the only trend they seems to follow now is the absence of portraits, other than that, they can either do a faithful remake or a complete new take. I wish they would take inspirations from Rune factory next time...

Yeah, I'm not sure why the last two games had hard/easy modes but this game doesn't! It's funny though because previous hard modes just made it more difficult to level up friendship levels and earn money... I think they should give some type of reward for your struggle, haha. Imagine if FoMT had rival marriages on hard mode! I'd go back to Mineral Town for that!

If they just take this formula, with the idea of aging and chapters, but with more characters, and everything fleshed out deeper. Rival marriages amd rival children, maybe even having your child marry. Having people talk about events and gifts you give them is really nice touch tho and I'm still happy with this faithful remake 😊

I've also thought that having a little cutscene or even just a special static image for visiting the valley would make it so much more worthwhile, but also having the option to choose what kind of activity you do with its own little perk would be a really smart way of doing it. I don't anticipate rival marriages coming back to the series with how long they've been gone, but it would be really nice to see them again. Even if the other characters slowly got together over the course of a few chapters in, I feel like it would be a natural inclusion to AWLs story The only thing I can think of thatI'd like and wasn't covered here are idle animations for the horse lol, it just felt a little more lively in the original game when it would roll on the ground and such
Yeah part of what makes the valley so awful right now is that the screen just goes black... and then bam, you're back. It would be so much cooler with a few animations thrown in! I can't imagine it would take THAT much work to add in what I had mentioned.
I agree with all your points. I finished an entire playthrough of the game and it remains perhaps a bit too faithful to the original. More content would have been nice. The QOL improvements are good, but more could have been done to make it truly a masterpiece. More dialogue, more events, more outfits and body types, one or more things to do outside of farming, etc. It's a good remake, but not a GREAT one.
Haha, yeah, it seems like you and I agree almost completely, haha. The only problems with it are that it remains a bit TOO faithful to the original. It's strange because the FoMT remake added a lot of content (strawberry and chocolate cows, penguins, two new marriage candidates, etc.). Not sure why they didn't want to add a little bit more to this remake.
I wish they'd add at least 2 more career options and 1 more marrige candiate of each gender. Possibly the theif fro. harvest moon ds cute. We need a kid that has natural white hair and I'd even be okay with what they did in that game. When you marry him your kids appearance is randomized from all the avaliable children, with that specific marrige candidate

Yeah... But they did set the release date for almost six months after the Japanese release... Maybe their plan is to see what the Japanese release did wrong and fix it before the Western release. I mean, Pioneers of Olive town had some major launch issues that they fixed. Hopefully they give AWL some finishing touches! Also, thanks for always commenting on my videos by the way! Some of these take a long time to make so I appreciate that you always take the time to comment!

Maybe rival marriages would be easiest if friendship events between rivals happened at random, but then the person who plans to confess would consult you for advice first. Like how ACNH villagers will wonder about leaving and you can tell them to stay. In AWL it'd even less complicated because they could just have the characters get together during timeskips, if they're lazy about adding new events. Though I understand it's probably the prospect of adding all those child characters that was the issue. I wish they'd added that in this game. I know they probably feared people getting up in arms if the game changed too much from the original, but I think they stayed too faithful. The only other two I've played are SoS and 3oT, and while they're amazing games, the one thing I hate is how stagnant they are. It's what I appreciate about AWL in comparison, so it's a little sad how no one else gets married or does something new with their lives or anything like that.
Hopefully marvelous can update with the difficulty settings in a wonderful life. like an easy mode the time slows down a lot, because the one we have now is like fast as all get out. in easy mode when you get inside a building the time stops and also the time will stop at 11:59 at night. and it’s slightly easier to befriend the villagers.
Rival marriages made me nervous but I think it's pretty neat. harvest moon DS and harvesr moon DS cute had them, but your kid and the other villagers babies don't age past the toddler stage.
Yeah, I think when you are first starting out, the rival marriages can be a bit daunting. If you know what you are doing, it's not so bad, but for new players it could be a bit stressful. That's why I think it should be kept in a "hard mode" type option!
I wish they could get rid of the time limit to get to marry Marry like anytime you want to like you do in the other games and I liked it when it was at the first time I played it Nintendo GameCube but it's time to update that and what you think ?

With a Premium Edition here in America you get a cloth poster and a goat plushie and a beautiful Art box with all the characters on it and the game.
