    Hi Waylon, Sharing a story.
    I once watched a Don't Pass gang of three show up at a table. They played the DP and one or two DCs and aggressively slammed the dice against the wall rooting for the seven. No dice setting, no DI, just Random Randys on steroids. I watched a right side better, who was down to his last $75 cash in on these three successive darkside shooting players. He started with an $18 six and eight, hit and eventually covered all the box numbers, pressed moderately, (ie., for the 6&8: $18, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, 240, 300 etc., similarly for the 5 and 9 while flipping the 4 and 10 ie; 25, 50, 100, 200, 400) and cash out in excess of 5 grand. Ironically the Don't guys we're shooting a rightsiders dream, hitting sevens on the comeout rolls. The Do-sider didn't care in the least that these three Don't guys were slamming the dice. What a show! I'm sure you've witnessed similar events in your travels.
    The right side play is the most popular type of play. Players want to invest less to win more. Most gamblers want something for (almost) nothing. You advocate gambling something for something, taking into account, sufficient bankroll and rational laddering methods based on the pyramid of odds and probabilities. A lot of your stratagems take into account the "pyramid fact" so ladder betting is the plan of choice. Big Ben ( a wiley fish) only comes around so often, so you need to cast out a net two or three times to catch him. Each net costing a bit more for a smaller mesh. Eventually you catch him and recoup your investment (with a profit) and your back in business.
    For the seven shooting DI what betting strategy would you advise? The enticing aspect
    of playing for the sevens is you only need one hit to pay numerous bets. Laying the back line is a hopping bet. Lay bets bet more to win less. The DP and DC run the comeout gauntlet. Wouldn't there be more pressure for the seven shooter to roll the seven than for a right side shooter to roll his box number?
    Thank you for letting me ramble on your thought provoking question. I'm more questions than answers.
    Thank you very much for sharing your passion, hard work, and smart strategies on how to play craps in your shows.

    If we could place the 7, we probably would. But 2 of the options for betting the 7, pay even money or worse. Sure, there are the hop bets or any 7. I just can't bring myself to do.

    Waylon you and I are old guys. I remember craps tables with little or no bounce and "ripple walls" instead of the diamond shape back walls. • @Faux.Player

    There are a few schools of thought behind dice control.
    1. Avoid the 7 (Probably the hardest to do given the probability of it rolling/dice construction).
    2. Avoid a certain number. This could be used as a hybrid style getting a dont bet set and avoiding that number while hitting the others. (Much easier to avoid a ten for example, as there are half the ways to roll).
    3. Hit as many box numbers and regress. (Pretty smart if you know you have above avg rolls of 7-8, you could bet larger and regress to play with casino money).
    4. Go for the 7? This would be a hard strategy to employ. What would your betting system be for this Waylon?
    Maybe hop the 7’s on come outs, and lay the point, and continue to hop the 7’s progressing the hop every 3 rolls?
    I think you said random roll then lay the point. That would be less risky then the above.

    • @waylonswaycraps
      @waylonswaycraps  9 месяцев назад +6

      Hell lay the back wall on the comeout and try to throw 7s ! Then lay the 4 or 10 after you catch a point and try to roll a 7! If you can shoot like some say that shouldn't be a problem lol

    Friday night, I played on a $10 table. Was alone on yhe table. I had 3 4 3 on the ATS on all rolls. Started with a minimum bet across on each session. First session I threw about 25 tosses and hit the all. Next couple sessions/hands didn't do much. 4th session I tossed the dice about 30 times and I hit the tall. Colored up and after tipping the dealers left up $1100.00. This is why we avoid the 7. Not sure dark side player would make that kind of money starting at table minimum in 4 sessions/hands.

    The answer to your question is that you cap your upside, it’s 1 and done. Then you gotta wait for the dice to go all the way around. The point of DI is to throw greater than the average so you can press and have higher wins.

      The thinking is if you can regularly roll 20+ rolls, play inside and hit half of them, you will do much better than one seven out. But, I guess if you are really good at hitting the seven, you could lay the whole back wall with hundreds of dollars to make that one seven out pay off big time.

  • @joeschmo8115
    @joeschmo8115 9 месяцев назад +3

    I shoot for the seven about half the time. Lay the 10 for $500 and play $100 on the inside. Then I shoot for the 7. I’m making $35 every time I miss the 7 and hit an inside number. And make $150 when I hit the 7. I have a couple sets that I can usually hit a 7 within 3 or 4 rolls.

    Waylon, I appreciate your approach to thinking outside of the box.
    My thoughts on this DI thing is, if you could accurately throw a 7, practicing to do so isn’t as beneficial. You can’t have a long roll only rolling 7s it shortens the time with dice in your hands. Hitting and quitting is great yeah. But you got Randy for that

    If DI is possible, the no 4 and no 10 offer the most value. Reasoning being they only have 3 ways to be rolled. Thus, if a shooter can reduce one of those combinations from comming up as much... it impacts the accurance of those 2 numbers much more than the same level of influence on other numbers.

  • @traumamike
    @traumamike 9 месяцев назад +2

    I’m no expert DI but you asked so I’ll offer my opinion. I don’t know of anyone that can snipe a particular number on a regular basis. We call it dice influence instead of dice control for a reason. So, yes, the 7 has 6 ways out of 36 combinations to show up. But that means there are 30 other combinations that can appear. If I can find a dice set through practice that tends to avoid the 7 rather than land on a 12, for example, I’ve got a higher expected value per roll doing that even though the 12 might pay 3:1 in the field.
    Plus, and this is the main thing for me, if I make a point and then hit the 7 I have to wait for the dice to get back around to me again and that could take a while. I’d rather bet on myself than anyone else at the table.

    • @waylonswaycraps

    • @traumamike

      I agree with you 100%! The 7 is coming for you eventually! In the long run it’ll randomly come every 6 rolls. Now imagine if you could have just enough influence with your set and toss to have the 7 only show up every 8 or 9 rolls. Couple that with an appropriate betting philosophy and you can make money pretty consistently at the tables.

    I personally would make this more complicated, by doing a $10 dont come bet and do odds (on a 3-4-5x table this would always be 6x flat and pays either 3-4-5x flat). While covering each number with $10.
    When the 7 comes you can just hand the odds stack and ask to lay the last point coving your next dont come.
    Nice system Waylon! As long as they don’t repeat numbers when you are coming out, or hit a bunch of points, you are golden!

    PART 2- As far as betting is concerned, let’s say you lay the back wall for $560 you win $340 on a 7 (minus vig) of course.
    Let’s say instead you place $640 across you win $140 on the 5 through 9 and $200 on the 4 & 10. Any good DI can roll at least in the teens. So you make more money on the place bets than you would with a 7 out.

      I got quite a few strategies betting across that do pretty good but like you say you gotta be able to shoot the dice

    ......600 profit in ratio to 1000 bankroll is a major accomplishment... right in front of everybody on BoobTube😯! ! Whoops, I mean RUclips, bad joke🤔, I Love RUclips ... ...Excellent question to everybody on Dice setting to focus on the 7 coming up vs random rolling...Me personally, I'll stick it out with Random Rollen Randy Jennings🤠 & focus on the math...🎲YEEEEEEE HAAA🎲... ...🌴🎨
